Moonraker is probably my least desired score out of these, with the other five ranking quite high on my list of favourite scores.
Goldfinger certainly has the fewest additional tracks from the previous release as they don't have the masters, but it does have some additional versions of the song, that sort of thing.
Thanks @mtm. Looking up the score now, I think I might skip getting Goldfinger, even though I love the score. A few additional tracks for that price is a bit much to me.
Are LALD and OP still available? I thought they might have sold out.
LALD looks to be available on La-La Land Records online store, while OP still looks to be available on the 007 store. Might not be for long though!
Glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks MR is one of the best Bond music scores. Flight into Space is also a top five Bond music track for me. It’s great for studying or making discoveries to.
Yeah. Same here. Flight Into Space is one of the tracks I usually used for studying at the university.
I'm stupidly excited that we're getting lots of unheard John Barry Bond music from arguably his best 007 score, plus getting to hear loads of these bits of music as he intended rather than the edited ones in the film.
I haven't heard the samples, but I'd guess that unused cues are:
California
Look After Mr. Bond
Launch Program Commence
Jaws Lends a Hand
Globes Destroyed (Neil Bulk said the second cue in this track is unused, and was replaced with the first cue of this track)
Bond Smells a Rat (Extended Version) is probably the same we already have but with some seconds of silence between the cues that it contains, which were originally blended together (two, I believe, one for Bond looking around the lab and one for the death of the scientists).
Also, it looks like the film used a different take for Bond Lured to Pyramid than the one from the album.
Then, as mentioned, there's the cues that were used in the film but edited:
Freefall Sequence
Venice Boat Chase
and who knows what else...
I agree with all that. Most people seem to overlook that cue because it's not original music, but it's an original and terrific arrangement.
Barry struck Oscar gold with Out Of Africa.

Expect another article in the future.
Edit: Pity that the Moonraker tapes are lost
Lost...but now found. ;)
That’s wonderful. I can’t think of another Bond release which could top this one: the combination of a muddy-sounding original release, cues which were cut and rearranged in the film, and so much unheard material, plus it being one of the very best Bond scores makes this the most exciting 007 release ever for my money.
You're welcome!
And I'm even learning that one of my favourite artists, Paul Williams, did a demo version of the title song! This is perfect!
Space, exciting and new
come aboard. we're expecting you.
Space, life's sweetest reward.
let it flow, it floats back to you.
the Moonraker soon will be making another run
the Moonraker promises something for everyone
set a course for adventure,
your mind on a new romance.
=))
Thanks for posting that.
I prefer the late '70s and early '80s over most other periods in Barry's career. The Deep, King Kong, MR, The Black Hole and -- a few years later -- Howard The Duck are some of my all-time favourite Barry scores. They may not be quite as memorable as GF, or as epic and romantic as Dances With Wolves, but they have definitely stolen my heart.
You can imagine my disappointment with the only officially released soundtrack CD so far. Several missing cues aside, the abysmal 'mono' audio quality prevents the score from being experienced at its fullest. The music wasn't done any justice by this release.
A complete and remastered score? Heck, I'm ready to dance.
