Coca-Cola goes well with grilled chicken during Christmas.

It goes well with cheese too, when one is hungover and can't have wine. Or pizza, or Chinese dishes, or pretty much any holiday food. I mean the things you have during the Christmas holidays, in the days leading to the 25, or between the 25 and new year.

Oh and I try to have Christmas tea, if I can find a good one. I think M&S used to make one?

There's plenty of Christmas and winter beers one can find as well. I used to try loads, back when I lived in Montreal.

    Thanks.

My issue with many Christmas beers now is that they often tend to be high in alcohol. I uses to love it when I was younger, but I'm no longer a fan.

Oh and this is my go-to beer when I'm in Québec during Christmastime: https://lestresorsderable.com/en/beers/224-rousse-griffon-beer-mcauslan-0055480003010.html?srsltid=AfmBOoofoGXo7bR78K8nn2eGERSLI23VZpO9EIWWEcuCpWsOyMQOk2UJ

I think I might buy some champagne this year. We generally have some bubbly for new year, but I think a nice bottle of champagne would do nicely on Christmas day itself.

If you want a superb alternative to Champagne, just to mix things up or to surprise your relatives with something similar but different, may I suggest a bottle of Franciacorta. Slightly less expensive, just as good or maybe even better.

Known as the Champagne of Italy, which is not the better-known Prosecco like it is commonly believed, Franciacorta is produced in a much smaller area as its French counterpart and it even has stricter quality rules than Champagne. Doesn't have the same level of marketing though :p

If interested, here's a pretty good overview (with even a Bond reference in it):

Tomorrow we might go and listen to Christmas carols. They're serving mulled wine. If it could snow it would be perfect.

I still need to get my two litres of Coke for the holidays. With crisps. I'm slowly but surely stocking on food and drinks.

On a side note, should I start a new thread about Christmas food or simply update this one? Unless there's an existing thread already.

I usually have to get it from specialist sweet shops here that sell American imported cans of Coke Vanilla. It did used to be available to buy from ordinary grocery shops but it hasn't been available there in a long while now.

They have Coke Vanilla everywhere here. Including our local sweet shop, which also has root beer. But there's no way in hell I'll drink root beer during Christmastime. When I go to celebrate Christmas with my parents, there's always a small glass bottle of Coke in the Christmas stockings. One for each child, grandchild and daughters in law. My son doesn't drink Coke neither does my wife, so I have three for myself.

My wife likes eggnog. I never managed to get into it.

    Christmas Jones Cocktail Recipe
    https://catamaranguru.com/christmas-jones-cocktail-recipe/

Though perfect for the holidays, this drink has nothing to do with Christmas. Its namesake is Dr. Christmas Jones, a fictional nuclear physicist who appeared in the 1999 James Bond film, The World is Not Enough. Denise Richards’ portrayal was highly criticized as not being believable (even received a Razzie award), so perhaps that is the reason for the name. This drink is unbelievably easy and tasty.

Fruity, light, and delightfully refreshing any time of the year. Fresh strawberries rather than frozen work best and, if you have a juicer, fresh pineapple juice taste best. But the small cans of pineapple juice will work. The sweetness of this drink is perfect with a fiery version of our party snack Fire Crackers recipe.
    INGREDIENTS
    • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
    • 5 ounces pineapple juice
    • 4-6 fresh strawberries, depending on size
    • 2 teaspoons superfine sugar or equivalent sugar substitute
    • 3 to 4 ounces lemon-lime soda, to taste
    • Mint sprigs, for garnish
    DIRECTIONS
    • In a blender, whir the vodka, pineapple juice, strawberries, and sugar together.
    • Pour the mix equally into two goblets or highball glasses.
    • Top with lemon-lime soda (7Up or store brand).
    • Garnish with a sprig of mint.
    • Enjoy!
    • Repeat!

    Christmas Jones Recipe
Today we’re highlighting a drink named after one of the James Bond girls, the Christmas Jones. This Christmas cocktail is visually stunning, featuring vivid tones of red and green. In our own sample group, it was universally lauded as a drink that everyone could enjoy, anytime of the year. Fresh strawberries, pineapple juice, and mint give this cocktail an aura of anticipation.
    Christmas Jones Recipe
    • 2 oz vodka
    • 5–6 fresh strawberries
    • 5 oz pineapple juice
    • 2 tsp superfine sugar
    • 2 oz lemon-lime soda
    • Mint sprigs

This recipe makes two servings. In a blender, whizz the vodka, strawberries, and pineapple juice until berries are puréed. You may also blend ice with these ingredients to make a slush. Christmas Jones Cocktail
The Christmas Jones is a blended, fruity drink that fits the holiday season perfectly. The bright red and green, from the fresh strawberries and mint sprigs, supply the Christmas colors. The pineapple, strawberries, vodka, 7-up, and mint leaves team up to create a truly unique cocktail experience.

The Christmas Jones is a festive strawberry-pineapple drink that will put a little extra fun into the holiday season. It was created at New York City's Metro Marche (now closed) to coincide with the 2006 release of the James Bond movie Casino Royale.
The cocktail recipe is quite simple and it all begins in the blender. Fresh strawberries and pineapple juice are blended with your favorite vodka to create a boozy fruit smoothie. The drink is then poured into a glass and topped with a little soda to add extra Bond-like bling.

Despite its holiday-themed name, this is a fantastic drink for any time of year. Also, this recipe is designed to create two servings so you can share with a friend.

    Ingredients
    • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
    • 5 ounces pineapple juice
    • 4 fresh strawberries
    • 2 teaspoons superfine sugar
    • 3 to 4 ounces lemon-lime soda, to taste
    • Mint sprigs, for garnish
    Steps to Make It
    01 Gather the ingredients.

    Tips
    • To make a good Christmas Jones, start out with a mid-range vodka (any of the popular brands are excellent candidates). One that you wouldn't mind in your vodka tonic should do just fine.
    • Save those frozen strawberries for your next strawberry daiquiri and go with fresh berries for the Christmas Jones whenever possible. This is not the average blended cocktail because there is no ice added to the blender. Instead, it is more of a spiked fruit puree or a blended juice and that would warrant the freshest fruits possible.
    • If you have a juicer, do yourself a favor and use fresh pineapple juice because the drink will be just a little brighter.
    • If you're using bottled pineapple juice, you may find that the little cans of pineapple juice are the best option. They usually come in 5- to 6-ounce cans, which is perfect for a single round of drinks and you don't have to worry about wasting a larger can.
    • For the best drink, choose a juice that is "Not From Concentrate." Keep an eye on the expiration dates, too, as they can easily be pushed to the back of the refrigerator and forgotten.
How Strong Is a Christmas Jones?
This recipe is exceptionally light on the alcohol. Despite the fact that the recipe creates two highball drinks, there is only a single shot of vodka used. With an 80-proof vodka and a final volume of 8 ounces in each glass, the Christmas Jones would weigh in at a very mild 3 percent ABV (6 proof). Surprisingly, it is lighter than the average bottle of beer.

Looks like something my wife would love. Too sweet and pink for me, although if I was to make it for her I would probably end up drinking most of it. She doesn't drink much and quickly gets bored with alcohol.

Thanks, @NickTwentyTwo. Enjoy them, my friend, for it is Living Water. ;)

Bit vanilla for living water... (bad joke I know).

Ordered my Rebellion Beers for the season: Humbug and Roasted Nuts. And I already have a supply of Winter Royal.

Bought a crate of beers, some cider and two bottles of JD, I also saw a honey flavor so thought why not. I think that is more than enough drinks for Christmas i think i am all done.

I poured a JD and listening to some Bond related Christmas themes, it is just good to relax and that is the best part of Christmas to me

I have two weeks of holidays. I'll do some wrapping tonight, if I'm not too exhausted. I'll start with the drinking tomorrow.

I did all my Christmas gifts/wrapping 3 weeks ago, maybe I cheat but I like to get all that out of the way quickly.

Years ago I left everything to the last minute, the stress made me start pre planning for Christmas.

    Wise man, no pun intended.

Otherwise, anybody has other drink suggestions? I'm having Rebellion Beers' Humbug tonight. Wychwood Brewery also has a seasonal Bah Humbug, which tasted nice, albeit a bit too much like cinnamon.
