Would you rather vacation for a week at Piz Gloria or on James Bond Island (Thailand)?

    Available at all times.

It might just be my imagination, but the picture quality seems to be miles better than the DVD collection I have, NTTD in particular

    Interesting thoughts on this!

Lets dive back into the legacy films and see how we feel about this one.

Would you rather spend a week vacation at Piz Gloria OR a week vacation on Scaramanga's Island?

Lets pretend we aren't being held at these locations against our will and that we aren't going there to get an allergy cure. Which one would you like to spend a week at?

Can't stand snow and ice. "Winter vacation" for me means vacation from winter, not in winterly conditions. So get me Thailand all the way...although I don't like long intercontinental travels either any more.

Want to visit Piz Gloria sometime and cold is not a problem, but a week would leave me stir crazy. Snow and ice and circling choughs.

Been to Pattaya and Bangkok, but spending a week on James Bond Island be a treat. Thai food is great, maybe there's delivery. Not sure the accommodations, but even a tent would allow me to paddle around off island for a fine time in the area. Plus maybe I could see @j_w_pepper and the wife as he's departing and I'm arriving, or vice versa.

It depends if they're as they are in the films or not: I could stay on Scaramanga's island with his beautiful home carved into the rock, but staying on James Bond island as it is in real life would be less good as it's absolutely tiny!

I know, right?! Seven days on a sandbank.

At least at Schilthorn I can have my photo taken beside a wooden cut-out of George Lazenby, which is damn close to the real thing.
  • Piz Gloria. I wouldn’t want to risk running into sleazy tourists in Thailand.

Yes I leave it up to you to decide if it is the movie version or reality. Piz Gloria is a real thing so no interpretation needed.

I am thinking the views and the winter activities would make Piz Gloria a wonderful choice.

A very difficult question. I've been snorkeling off the coast in Thailand and, presuming it isn't as bad as it is in certain spots with all the plastic, I could see me doing that for a week. On the other hand, I love the mountains and especially mountain air, living below/at sea level all my life. And Piz Gloria has some amazing views. Give me a couple of good books and I can spend far longer than a week there. I think I'll go for that one.
