@Fire_and_Ice_Returns Yeah, I took a break back in September. Now, i'm trying to catch up on what I might have missed on the forum.

Good to see you back, I noticed your absence on the Doctor Who thread. Check out the new in colour The War Games trailer if you have not seen it it looks incredible, a must watch over Christmas.

Thanks. I haven't seen that trailer yet. I assume they're going to edit it down, right? 10 episodes. :-?

That's right I think if I remember correctly to a 90 minute movie, the trailer is so well done I loved it. It is posted on the Doctor Who thread.

Happy Anniversary, @Dragonpol! It's always been a pleasure having you here.

Thanks, @Creasy47. The pleasure has been all mine. It's great to have you here too. :)
Happy anniversary, @Dragonpol. The forum would be less without you proudly championing all things Gardner:Bond.

I'm a few months late, but I hit my 19th anniversary here back in July.

Thanks, @MajorDSmythe. I could be called the Constant Gardner. I do try and keep Jolly JG and his work in our thoughts on the forum. Thanks for all you do here.
Congratulations @Dragonpol here is to another 12 years very valued member. I must be close to 12 years all I remember is I joined in January. I will have to check.

Edited: I will be 13 years member in January, time flies.

    ---

Belated happy 19th anniversary @MajorDSmythe not seen you on here for a while, took a break?

Thanks @Fire_and_Ice_Returns for your kind words. Yes, we're of a similar vintage here. 2012 was a good year, despite what the Mayan Calendar may have said! :)

    He would indeed. ;)

I topped off yesterday's 12th anniversary celebrations with a signed copy of the Putnam US first edition of John Gardner's Never Send Flowers which had arrived from the US. It was quite apt that it should arrive on my anniversary of my 12th year as Dragonpol. I'm over the moon to have a signed copy of this novel. It means a lot to me and of course I wouldn't have as interesting a username without it. :)

Well, it's March 7 again, and on this very day, I'm celebrating two things:
    • I have turned 43.
    • I joined the forum exactly 20 years ago.

Twenty years ago, I would never have guessed that I'd last this long. When daring to suggest that DAD wasn't quite as atrocious as some made it out to be, I was almost shown the door within two days of joining the forum. But I stayed. And I'm glad I did. This forum is the only 'social medium' (of sorts) that I have ever subscribed to. It's a special place too. And that's all thanks to our wonderful members.

    Thanks for having me.

Congratulations on reaching 20 years of membership here, @DarthDimi. That's very impressive. You've lasted very well.

I also want to wish you a very Happy Birthday. You're about 2 and a half years older than me. I was the big 4-0 in October.

Thanks for being a huge part of this community as both a mod and a member. I appreciate your fairness and your erudition and hope you have many more years to enjoy as a part of this community. :)

Indeed, congratulations on both milestones dear @DarthDimi! Benny said it best. And though I'll never understand your interest in horror, your postings here have been far from that sort of thing.

    Cheers!

Thank you so much, gents. I appreciate the kind words.

Us, grumpy old forum geezers, need to stick together lest the young ones take things over. At least @Benny is in good shape last time I checked:

    Love ya mate.

They’ll be over asap. Along with the Dom Perignon and Oysters.
The rest of the mod team will of course be there as well.

After that, we can have our sinister meeting during which we will discuss who replaces the Pale King.

While reviewing CCTV footage from the Mod Lounge, I found footage of Dimi leaving the celebrations early this morning.

Why he was wearing a father Christmas costume, is known only to Dimi. Congrats on both milestones. <:-P

Good one, @MajorDSmythe. Yes, that does look like me. And whether I'm wearing anything underneath the costume, is also known only to me. 😉
