Best case scenario : We get to see a Bond movie in theaters sooner or later. I'd rather sooner.
Worst case scenario : Bond is kept on the sreaming platform, which everyone doesn't have, and the future movies stay there, not getting a theater release, and no DVD either. And that would be a shme, because Bond movies are meant to be enjoyed in the theaters.
They paid up because that was the only way they were getting a Bond film anytime soon.
Well, What could Nolan have done to not want to give him the final cut? EON wanted control even with Nolan.
Ah, may he rest in peace. 🌹
Nolan would have had to fire his wife as producer (that's her role on all of his films) to make way for Barbara and Michael.
It was never going to happen.
That's the point. That's why Amazon wants them far away.
On a note re NTTD ending, I think they can go by using Fleming own's solution.
Remember, in YOLT, "Bond –in searing pain– heads for the wooden box that controls the volcanic eruptions which he cranks before fleeing the castle which is set to explode, but in the escape, Bond is sent crashing downward into the sea where he is rescued."
(NTTD being largely inspired by YOLT).
That's point one. They will show Bond being blasted away and found floating in the sea. Next in the novel, is the Bourne Identity plot, which I think Amazon will take (so stupid they are). Bond is found to be suffering from severe amnesia. Bond recovers from his wounds, finds a crumpled bit of newspaper with the word “Vladivostok” written on it, and this word jogs his memory. Then Bond sails off for Russia in search of his past.
I'm betting they will also use the never used idea in OHMSS of Bond face being wounded and him having plastic surgery, to justify the new actor.
No, they will keep it simple for the new wave of audiences that don't read anymore. Get ready for a cinematic Moonraker remake....
What, deal Bezos a bad hand?
