Great video. I do wish the series would get new transfers The Lowery versions are quite out of date, and I've always found the color timing on some of them lacking.

The Lowery versions haven’t been used since the late 2000s when the series debuted on blu-ray.

Has there been a physical media release with new transfers? That I'd gladly double dip for. Eventually I'll get a 4K player.

My enduring hope is that when the 4K Boxset is finally released we get a roundtable of the 4 remaining actors, while they're all still with us, just chatting about they're experiences playing the character. They could make it a featurette and call it "four non bonds".

I'm too much of a pessimist to believe something that cool would ever happen but I'd certainly rush to watch it if it did.

It’s a shame Connery’s stubbornness prevented all six from ever appearing altogether.

It is. However, I heard that GL and PB don't get along for unknown reasons. Some quotes from IMDB have me wondering. Maybe PB is jealous that GL got the role of Bond for all the wrong reasons right away.

[on GoldenEye (1995)] If Pierce Brosnan walked into a room, I doubt anyone would look up. But this is the '90s and women want a different man, a man who shows his feminine side. Pierce definitely has that.

[on former James Bond George Lazenby] George is just an angry, old, pissed-off guy. He was never an actor, but some pissed-off Aussie who doesn't know how to show his feminine side. I met him, and he's got that kind of brittle edge to him.

I don't know who insulted who first.

For what it's worth Lazenby was there for the DAD event along with Moore and Dalton. That's as close as we ever got to having all Bonds together. Again, Connery was absent, and that was before his retirement.

The time to have done it would've been the Skyfall premiere and the 50th anniversary.

Imagine having all six Bond lined up there in front of the gold 007 logo. It would have been a picture and moment for history. But alas, didnt happen.

Plus Pierce for the BAFTA tribute. Just imagine Parky is Sean.

First it look like Universal going to make Bond 26 and Warner Bond 27/Bond 28 with MGM/Amazon/Eon. But with Barbara ''giving a way'' James Bond to Amazon, all hope on new Bluray (if already) and 4K release we can vergot now. For 4K users (not me) who been very happy with Warner plan Sean Connery boxset this wil be another disapointed.

With Amazon it mean no DVD no Bluray no 4K and possible only 1-2 weaks cinema release if there already going to be a Bond 26. Or is there stil possible Universal/Warner wil be part of it ?. Inspecialy iam worried for Europe and then iam not even talked yet about tv showings / premiere. Was NTTD the last Bond movie on tv ? For The Netherlands, was the 4th time of American version of NTTD last time of a Bond movie on Dutch tv.

Amazon MGM does do physical releases of its movies. Red One on March 4th (and in 4K) and Challengers (currently blu-ray only), so I dont think that would change.

Plus streaming movies are shown on TV (here in the UK, The Tomorrow War has been on broadcast TV.

I can’t see Amazon giving up these revenue streams, they’ve $1bn to make back.

In Europe Red One and Challengers are Warner movie and i believe Challengers is from is partly from Netcut and possible why Challengers Bluray has no extra's. Was suprised it get a release. There are also 2 other movies with no extra's, possible one them for the same reasen. Knives Out 2 no Dutch cinema release, no DVD and no Bluray whyle the movie is partly from Lionsgate. The Accountant 2 get two trailers, one UK one from Warner and the other one is from Amazon but Warner is very on hand of a directer.

I believe it stemmed from Pierce saying from the time of Goldeneye "Nobody wants to be the next George Lazenby" or something to that effect.

There was a time when Lazenby was considered a punchline to a joke, especially in American pop culture. I remember back in 2001, ABC Network kicked off a Bond Sunday special where they’d go through the Bond films for several weeks hosted by the cast of the family sitcom ACCORDING TO JIM playing their characters. In the first segment, the cast were talking about their favorite Bond actors. Jim Belushi, the Homer Simpson of the family, was who name dropped Lazenby and then the whole cast gives him the side eye with a big laugh track.

I think that whole idea of Lazenby being a pop culture joke among Americans rubbed off on Brosnan having lived in America for a long time and he just made a dumb comment without thinking.

Or maybe he didn't want to be another George Lazenby...

Looks like some movement on the Connery 4k BluRays - now listed on Amazon:

God, I am so sick of steelbook exclusives. Of course I’ll still buy it if it’s something I really want, but 10/10 times I prefer a standard edition, and it’s getting really annoying how less and less it’s being offered with 4K now.

Ooh, I know it's just that twitter person using any old art, but imagine if they did get Tony Stella to do some new art for the release like the beautiful painting they've used there.

Yep! Always more expensive and without another option, might have to wait for sale. Will see how they review over at bluray.com

This set will get a standard amaray release as well, there's no question about it.
It may take a few months after the initial steelbook release, but it will definitely happen.

I saw the price for the 4k's 100 bucks for standard 140 bucks for steel book that's insane 😳 hopefully they have more to offer then just a HD to 4k transfer for 6 films?! I can't imagine a 25 film 4k boxset 1000 bucks? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F25ML7RD?tag=panandscathed-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1&fbclid=IwY2xjawJRg7ZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHQcop4akMorhx46xUe__QPoDAr-dMMlK_XybsEf4CQ77vmDoZ2RLvt6LNg_aem_uTMhCnwmc3o33tA4srcJgQ

There’s at least an Amazon link for a standard edition now, so that’s a good sign. I don’t have too many reservations at that point, because it’s not realistic to expect a full collection of all 25 films on 4K at once, for less than a fortune at least.

100 bucks is the right price, it's the price of the Craig UHD collection and it has one less film.
That's 16,66 bucks a UHD film. Bargain price. Even if you get the Steelbooks, that's 23,3 bucks the movie.
If you think it's too costly, wait for the inevitable price drop during Black Friday and other discount events. The Sean collection will probably be about 79,99 on Amazon anyway.

Depending on the quality of the transfers, I will likely pick this up when its on sale. Hopefully the others all follow after this.

I'll be very eager to see the artwork. I'm also kind of over steelbooks at this point, but I'll probably make an exception for Bond.

I'm sure I read somewhere that their just using the Lowry transfers from a decade ago. If that is true and there is no new remastering from original camera negatives, no HDR and no restoration of the sound then it's a hard no for me.

New transfer or not, I find it hard to believe they would even try to release these 4k disc without HDR.
