Another one is a plot hole goof, when Kara and Bond are being chase in Icy lake, Kara accidentally quips Bond's name by saying "James", even though Bond is yet to reveal his name or any identity to Kara, How could Kara know Bond's name?
@calfex, Please refrain from triple or double posts. There's an EDIT button which allows you to add thoughts to your latest post, including quotes. Thank you. :)

As for Kara knowing Bond's name, I don't consider it a goof/mistake. There's some off-screen time they had to kill so they might have used it to get properly introduced. I'm glad that for once, we don't need to sit through this predictable moment. Besides, Bond already spoke the magic words in the PTS. So I'm writing this whole thing off as we didn't see or hear it, but it happened. :)

It always bugged me how Pierce pops back up after jumping from the ship in DAD. Right as he hops the railing and you hear the 'splash', you see his back appear over the ledge.
  • In TSWLM when Bond and Anya are in the Lotus on the way down to the water Anya looks terrified and then in like the next scene Anya reveals that she has seen the blueprints and knew that the Lotus would turn into a submarine car. Why is she so scared if she had already seen the blueprints? :-D
  • She might know everything about the car, but it's still a bit of a shock when a suave secret agent suddenly drives off a pier into the sea :P

  • Wasn't there a blatant error in Casino Royale when Craig said 'My name is James Bond' >:-)

In Tomorrow Never Dies In the opening sequence, after firing the missile, the ship reports back that they have lost contact with the missile because it is out of range and thus it cannot be destroyed. Moments later, back at HQ, M & Co are seen watching the missile's on-board camera as it flies through the mountains towards its target. If the missile can relay images back to base, they could relay a message to the missile it to self-destruct

and how would the sea drill, with as much maneuverability as a hippopotamus, be able to turn corners and go upwards in the Devonshire when out of water? This seems incredible when it even needs rails when aboard the stealth ship

  • The very good French web show about bloopers finally looked at 007 (CR and QOS) :

All the humour of the comments will be lost to non French listeners (and that's 90% of the interest of the show alas), but you still have the images of the bloopers

AVTAK- In the venterlation shaft there are electic lights. Considering this area was boarded up and left alone long enough for the ladder to rot, how did they get there?

In real life I don't think a silencer helps much , the gun is still noisy....movie trick again ;)
  • I was just watching QoS again and something's always bugged me. I could be wrong, but aren't the opera scenes out of order? I'm not an expert on Tosca but as far as I know there's only one execution scene, which happens at the end (after the stabbing scene). The editing shows the firing squad first, then Tosca with the knife. Anybody know?
  • Bond's infamous "Smith and Wesson and you've had your six' line has gone to in history but the gun Dent has isn't even a Smith an Wesson. It's such a great line that it seems such a shame the filmmakers couldn't have gone out of their way to get the right gun. Knowing the truth takes away some of the drama and weight away from the line.
  • Well I listed above the CR/QoS goofs video :
    http://www.allocine.fr/video/video-19422464/
but there was also before the DN/NSNA goof video :
    http://www.allocine.fr/video/video-19143940/
FYI, the adress goof in DN was corrected in the French dubbing !

In DN, M says "Since I've been head of MI7..." even though everyone else calls it MI6.

At the conclusion of CR, Bond is wearing a 3-piece suit and a wounded Mr. White is wearing a suit with a blue shirt. At the beginning of QOS, Bond is wearing a 2-piece suit and Mr. White(in the trunk) has a different suit on also. Continuity please.
  • Well they had plenty of times to change clothes, as some members here have proven that several years happened between the end of CR and the beginning of QOS :)
Actually, you have to consider that Mr White had the time to heal from a bullet wound at the outside of the left thigh, and that Bond had to shoot another bullet in the inside (the first point takes a bit longer than the second, obviously).

Die Another Day, when Bond is escaping in the hovercraft, he shoots the gate controls as he goes out, causing it to fall, and the hovercraft chasing him crashes into it.

But we never see Bond go through the gate, just move towards it, so when the soldiers crash into it, it looks like Bond has crashed (I thought he had crashed the first time I saw it), then suddenly we cut to outside and he's driving through the minefield.

It's not a big thing and it doesn't stop me enjoying the PTS (which despite the rest of the film is one of my favourites) but it does annoy me.

It always amazes me that movies with mega million dollar budgets have goofs in them. Maybe they should spend more on a good editor and less $$ to the studios.

The only reason why that is, is Because they switched costume designers.

That was never proven. Sure it says 2008 on the Greene Planet invite but that could have been a mistake by the prop guy. Or maybe they forgot that they were supposed to still be in 2006.

Wheel coming off moon buggy in DAF and rolling into the frame. Seconds later all wheels on.

@Murdock is correct, it's something Brady and I have discussed on numerous occasions but we never "proved" anything. The thing with Craig's suit that bothers me is that I don't see why they didn't just make a duplicate of sorts even when they switched costume designers.

In Live and Let Die, when Rosie and James are getting off the boat together, Rosie looks past the cameras while James says, "Brave, beautiful and resourceful. Rosie, you are staging a remarkable comback"

and she stares diretly at the cast and crew the whole time. This scene is a complete hash in general and needed to be reshot. She has a dumb grin on her face tjhen whole time.

In Dr. No, when Bond grapples with Quarrel and Pussfeller just before his first meeting with Felix Leiter, Pussfeller suddenly turns into a white guy in the shot where Bond tosses him over his shoulder. Hilariously bad 60s stuntman work.

Films will always have goofs, not many people realize how impossible it is to think of everything. Especially if you have a time limit, like most cinema releases do.

Anyone notice the barricade blocking onlookers in the background in the very first shot of TWINE?

I remember discussing this a long time ago on alt.fan.james-bond, and I apologize if anybody has already mentioned it (the search function wasn't really helpful). But here's one thing that has been puzzling me forever:

In DAF after about 9 minutes, Sir Donald explains the diamond production in South Africa, juxtaposed with film scenes from there that largely prove him wrong. He says, "The whole process from start to finish operates under an airtight security system. It’s an essential precaution, even though the industry prides itself on the loyalty and devotion of its workers."

Then he says a few more sentences about workers' health care etc. while you see the dentist Dr. Tynan at work. But about twenty seconds later, Sir Donald repeats exactly the same sentences quoted above. It even seems to be the same audio recording. Lazy editing or simply an error? I know it was both on my VHS tape and the DVD, and I would expect it to be on Blu-ray as well.

Any of you know more about the cause of this?

I'm already bumping this since I found I seldom look at the second page of the "recent discussions" list myself...and topics get there awfully fast on this board.

To me ,she is smiling like that because she thinks she has duped Bond and Kananga's wishes are going to plan.

I can be very stubborn and therefore once more bump this thread regarding my posting
    of yesterday regarding DAF, above.

@j_w_pepper, funny, I caught that several months back and wondered the same thing as myself. Seems like an odd oversight, so I took it as him reiterating how loyal the workers are, even though the footage we see shows that it's absolutely not the case, and few of them are loyal, as they smuggle diamonds out on their own.

Yeah, It's like in Never Say Never when Bond says "Yes, still in pretty good shape" twice in the same scene.
