If you want The Godfather, you aren't going to get it. If you want rollicking good fun, with a perfectly measured blend of ingredients then you'll love it. Like a lot of the best Bond films it's beautiful nonsense. I can understand misgivings about SF, because when the plotting goes are wayward you're still left with quite a moody film. This just sweeps along and anyone who isn't a little thrilled with it is probably taking it a bit too seriously.
with what they've done. :)
Really enjoyed bond being annoyed at moneypenny for having someone with her late at night ha ha
Help laughing out loud as Q did his joke about the db5 being destroyed. :))
I welcomed the return to a more humorous Bond and found the majority of the jokes funny. I admit some were a bit OTT/Moore-esque.
Really like the way they handled SPECTRE. Thought Waltz got better and better once the action moved to Morocco. Mr Hinx was a physically imposing henchman and thought he was cool but don't think you can compare him to Jaws and Oddjob though they do have time on their side.
Like the parallel plots of M v C and Bond v Blofeld. Felt the ending in London was a bit of an anti-climax and with Blofeld still alive, hoping Bond 25 sees a proper conclusion.
However, it did feel like Craig's final outing and it's easy to see why Mendes referred to the film as "closure" for the both of them. Hopefully not. Would love for them both to return for at least one more.
Wrote a much lengthier review on my blog: https://letmekentertainyou.wordpress.com/2015/10/27/spectre-spoiler-review/ If anyone fancies it.
All the while being chased in a lambo by some hulking monster.
M 's so we now know what "C" stands for,
MP's it's called having a life, you should try it sometime,
Q's I meant bring it back in one piece, not bring back only one piece and yes, it tells the time.
Brilliant and had genuine warm laughter throughout the theatre.
These I found more memorable than some of DC 's as he was also busy doing something at the time!
Does this mean the short story Octopussy, now never happened ? Bond
was never sent to bring a traitor back ?
CR was a reboot.
It's just a different take on the story. They aren't bothered about tying everything up in a neat little bow.
GOOD POINTS:
* Gunbarrel back at the start with a Binder design.
* One of the best PTS's in the age of modern Bond.
* The locations (up until London).
* The return of Blofeld and his cat
* That train fight.
* "Good evening".
* Craig's Bondian dialogue delivery.
* The use of the Bond theme in Newman's score.
* The Rome meeting.
* Mr White.
* The Bond girl.
* The DB9.
* Q
* M
THE BAD:
* Everything else about the gunbarrel.
* The majority of Newman's score in the latter half of the film.
* Blofeld's motivation.
* The fact that no one else on the train reacted to the carnage of Bond and Hinks kicking each other to bits.
* "I love you." In fact that was a real WTF? moment.
* Cataclysmic action in London again.
* The fact Bond brought down a helicopter without regard for the public.
* The fact after said helicopter is brought down, Bond and co freely wander onto the bridge with little or no opposition from the police.
I can image the reaction if they stuck with what it was in the original script...... :))
I guess you really liked it no @RC7 ;-)?
Is it...Craig's "Thunderball/Goldfinger"? or Craig's "The Spy Who Loved Me"?
allowed spoilers ? :)
Yep, when she said that I almost choked on my straw. The Lupe effect.
It's Craigs Spectre
But it allowed Bond to say, "Hello Pussy."
You musht be dreaming. ;)
