What would your RottenTomatoes Critics Rating be for "SPECTRE"? (just your percentage only)

I all want to ask you to give a 'Critics Tomatometer Percentage' to "SPECTRE" :-). I am curious to see if our average 'Critics Rating' would be 64% as well. But first a short summary of the previous, more recent Bond films:

--> 70%: "THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS" (top critics only: 57%, my rating: 77%)
--> 77%: "LICENCE TO KILL" ("Certified Fresh!", top critics only: 62%, my rating: 73%)
--> 78%: "GOLDENEYE" ("Certified Fresh!", top critics only: 67%, my rating: 65%)
--> 57%: "TOMORROW NEVER DIES" ("Rotten!", top critics only: 46%, my rating: 57%)
--> 51%: "THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH" ("Rotten!", top critics only: 53%, my rating: 72%)
--> 57%: "DIE ANOTHER DAY" ("Rotten!", top critics only: 42%, my rating: 37%)
--> 95%: "CASINO ROYALE" ("Certified Fresh!", top critics only: 96%, my rating 95%)
--> 65%: "QUANTUM OF SOLACE" (top critics only: 40%, my rating: 57%)
--> 93%: "SKYFALL" ("Certified Fresh!", top critics only: 92%, my rating 95%)

My rating for "SPECTRE" would be:
--> 82%

  • Let's 're-write' that damned RT-rating for "SPECTRE" a bit :-P (or not if you think 64% is entirely appropriate, but then at least give your rating). Anyone else care to weigh in?

I would of rated SP somewhere around 75%..................the 30% rating difference between SF and SP is ludicrous........and reflects poorly on the ratings system used by RT.

    75% sounds reasonable I think @Mepal1.

  • I'm afraid I don't understand the question. Is it the rating we think is reasonable for Spectre, given all the other Bonds' ratings? But then what are we to do if we don't think the other percentages are fair?

I suppose I think it's RT rating is fair, given that it's about the same as QoS, and both of them are mediocre Bonds.

The question seems to be very clear. I added some previous factual reviews as a reference....

So your rating would also be 64%?

Anyone who would rate "SKYFALL" over "THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS" isn't worth taking seriously. And I mean Rotten Tomatoes.

My rating for "SPECTRE" would be 92%.

Uffff, though admirable, I find your rating a bittt too high ;-). Still, nice to see some people think it's a good film.

By the way, in the end I will count/add all ratings up and then we have our 'alternative' RT tomatometer rating ;-).

How the hell are we to come up with a Tomatometer? If it's just our opinion of SP, that's fine, but it has nothing to do with the RT score, because that's an average of many critics' scores, and not just our personal opinion.

77% ... with a note sent home to mom that he can do better and shouldn't procrastinate and do his own work.

    Wow. Isn't that a bit too...much?
    :-S
  • Mine would be 80%. 64% is absurdly low.

Then please never read any posts that I put up on these boards as I cannot be taken seriously.

    Same here.

    69% for me.

It's probably worth a slightly higher (my view at present) rating than QoS which RT has at 65% based on the above, but not as high as TLD imho, which they rate at 70%

CR should have been 98% but I'll be damned if 95% isn't an amazing score.

    QoS deserves a solid 75%.

    SF should be 80%.

SP is correctly rated IMO. It barely holds a 6/10.

Spectre sure seems to divide opinion. I am one of those who enjoyed it greatly. 92% for me.

How do members here get their ratings down to the nearest 1% ? :)

I strongly agree with most of your choices. Though, I'm a weirdo and I would elevate QoS all the way to 90%. It was simply superb in my opinion.

On topic, I would personally give SPECTRE a 67%. It was a good, entertaining movie until the third act where it became a bit of a trainwreck.

Please tell me your 90% rating for QOS is a joke.

If not you are either a nutter, or you have a brain that can handle a film with multiple edits per second.

    :-O

Nope, sorry. I love the film. It's my second favorite Bond movie of all time. If it had so many edits then I didn't notice.

I've grown to like QoS a lot more than I did before. I still can't get myself to rate it all that high, but I do enjoy watching it a lot more these days. I never disliked it mind you, I just actually like it now.
  • I can definitely respect not liking the film, for one thing, It's very different from most Bond movies. For me though, it's an absolute pleasure every time I pop in the Blu-ray. The opera sequence in particular is simply exquisite.
