That's pretty good. I can see that. One corporation wants total dominance in the space sector and to ensure that happens they destroy Nasa's program and kill a few celebrities in the process. That is a very realistic plot idea, avoiding the fantastical Noah's Ark plot of Moonraker, that would look ridiculous today up against Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt.
With Branson's space dream in flames, suppose it has already happened....
The pretitles picks up an action sequence from the end of the movie - we OPEN on Earth from orbit, but establish that the Arclight space plane (based on http://nextbigfuture.com/2015/11/skreemr-hypersonic-passenger-plane.html) is in danger as it streaks, apparently out of control, through the atmosphere. Bond and Ariel (Lupita Nyongo), an insurance investigator, are onboard - as is the man we will come to realise is our villain, Alexander Strait (Rami Malek), a business magnate/inventor/engineer/investor.
And Hinx (David Bautista). As the plane tumbles through the atmosphere, the passengers are thrown about - luckily most of them are strapped in to their chairs, with Ariel pointing a gun at Strait, and Bond and Hinx tumbling through the cabin, punching and hitting each other with whatever is avaliable. An overhead cabinet smashes open - everything tumbles out, including a cannister of sealant foam which Bond injects into Hinx's mouth and throat, killing him.
Bond scrambles towards the free seat on the opposite side of Strait to Ariel and straps himself in as the pilot manages to break the spaceplanes tumble and it glides towards a breaking dawn -

After the title sequence, we're two weeks earlier with Bond and Madeline at a beautiful villa in Jamaica, she's sold her share in the clinic and Bond has some funds. But the fact of the matter is - they can't continue to live the extravagant lifestyle that they've been living for the forseeable future, one or both of them must get a job.
Which means that M's offer comes at the right point - a company called Prometheus is a leading developer of commercial spaceflight and is due to send their first commercial flight up in a fortnight, with Prince William onboard due to the large amount of investment in the company from the British government. But the company have suffered a series of misfortunes and the companies president has personally asked the PM for help - and M wants Bond to take the job.
After a little prodding by Madeline, he accepts the offer and, leaving her in Jamaica, jets off to England and the companies London offices where he meets the companies president - Alexander Strait - and Ariel, an insurance investigator from Lloyds of London who are concerned at the acts of possible corporate sabotage. Bond and Ariel agree, grudgingly, to work together - even though each person thinks the other person is tresspassing on their territory.
Bond and Ariel, with Q's help (Bond wears an earpiece, so Ariel does not meet Q at this point), discover a backdoor to the Prometheus mainframe and find that someone has been filtering information out of the company - as the backdoor in the mainframe had to be installed by someone with access to the internal server, the hunt is on to find out which of Strait's employee's is a corporate spy.
The trail - including a pursuit through a packed Oxford Street in the lead-up to Christmas - eventually leads the investigators to Roxanne (Sofia Boutella), a technical consultant at Prometheus. Roxanne escapes - but an examination of her bank records shows a massive amount of money going into it from a private account in the Cayman Islands.
After a bit more digging (thankyou, Q, whom Ariel meets in person this time) and a meeting at the Hildebrand bookshop, Bond and Ariel discover that the cash going into Roxanne's account was from another company - NORRELL TECHNOLOGIES - who are the biggest rivals to Prometheus in developing commercial spaceflight, and who won't have their first commercial flight ready for another twelve months.
It's time for Bond and Ariel to pay Norrell a visit.

- Sorry for the long read
- I wasn't a fan that they made a connection between Bond and Blofeld, but now that they have, they should make it convincing. Hence this appears in my writing.
- I would love to see a movie truely based on YOLT, but since we're missing OHMSS in this and I expect Craig will only do one more movie, I rewrote it enormously.
- Feedback is welcome, and enjoy!
The Garden of Death
Pre-Title
The pre-title sequence starts somewhere in the Nevada desert where a convoy of armored cars is transporting Ernst Stavro Blofeld to one of America’s most secure facilities when suddenly two drones attack the first and last vehicles of the convoy forcing Blofeld’s car to stop, a helicopter arrives and armed hostiles rescue Blofeld who then escapes with the chopper. this is immediately followed by the title sequence.
Act 1
The next scene starts with James Bond and Madeleine enjoying relation time in bed, contemplating about what job would suit James Bond on a slight sarcastic level. James is called by M and has to arrive at his office immediately, receiving an unhappy glance from Madeleine as a result.
Arriving at Moneypenny, she asks him how it’s like to have a life of his own, Bond replying: “What life, I’m still here am I not?” with a grin on his face. In M’s office, there is no reports on his desk and M looks with an utter serious, and slight worried face to Bond entering. M: “007, I know you’ve been doing more investigative tasks lately and you made considerable breakthroughs in your operations but I must ask something special of you today”. 007: “What is it sir?”. M: “After the apprehension of Blofeld, he was transferred to the CIA as there were concerns of escape and they promised their most secure facility for his detainment. But, Q did some research and came across information that Blofeld might have escaped their custody. Furthermore, it seems that it was an inside job and that the NSA and our Government Communication Headquarters are actively suppressing any information regarding this. I want you to find out what you can about this case and report back only to me. We have to assume we’re constantly being watched and this has to remain top secret. I therefore relieve you of your double-0 post with immediate effect, I’m reassigning you to the British embassy for the time being. Contact with Leiter, you’re familiar I heard, and try to persuade him into giving you the necessary information. This is a highly diplomatic objective Bond, no killing or weapons will be required for this task.”
Bond tells Madeleine that he’s taking a new investigative job at the embassy and that he has to go to the United States immediately.
We switch to Las Vegas, where Bond is playing high stakes poker in a casino when Leiter arrives at the table and sits down. Leiter: "I knew I'd find you here", Bond: "Just like the first time we met." They then go to a rooftop bar overlooking the city. Bond talks with Leiter about the information that was given him and why no official word from the United States has been sent to Britain while they were the one arresting him. Leiter looks at him with a face of melancholy and regret, he explains that there are enormous power plays on high levels and that Britain has lost its importance in the eye of many here. Leiter continues: “When you destroyed the Nine Eyes computer system in Britain, that was only a part of the entire play, in fact, the system is alive and active as the other nations have implemented it already. Even you Brits are going to get it again if the GCHQ has any say in it. But, and this is top secret and should not be shared with you, it seems Spectre does want to get back at you for derailing their plans”. Lester shows him some decrypted notes saying: Spectre has infiltrated the CNS and GCHQ and are planning to sabotage every internet cable between Britain and the rest of world, putting the entire network in a gridlock costing billions of pounds, unless the British pay up and incorporate Spectre’s new system. Bond: “They’re going to hold the British economy ransom! Why didn’t we get this information!?” Leiter: “The same people who know about this are the ones who are supported by Spectre, they have invested millions in politicians and lobbyists that will keep watch for their interests. Officially you have not seen this, or I will be tried as a traitor with no due process.” Bond reacts: “So I can’t tell anyone about this and therefore not stop it? You understand I need to deliver this information as soon as possible as my entire country’s economy is at risk!” Leiter: “You can have this, but I need you to do me a favor in return…” Bond looks very calculated at Leiter asking: “You know I’m not currently part of the secret service right? I don’t know how I could help you…” Leiter answers: “The thing with Blofeld is that he has too many connections and is also heavy invested in the NSA’s information gathering programs, we cannot proceed against him, but you’re a foreigner… You can defy these power structures and actually get the job done, remember how you handled Greene Planet? You can be the one to take him in without being seen, especially since you’re no longer part of the Secret Service...” Bond: “I’m not sure if I’m able to do that this time, you know I’ve changed since then right?”, Leiter laughs: “You mean you’re not a revenge filled cold hearted killer anymore? I actually think that could be your advantage this time!”. Bond: “So what do you want me to do?” Leiter: “Blofeld’s escape had to be an inside job, so I want you to go to the Nevada military base and find out what you can. Here are your documents for the airforce base, you're a South African commander in the market for new weaponry being granted a demonstration. Good luck Commander Roodt.” Leiter smiles when he tells him his new cover name.
Bond goes back to his hotel where someone seems to be in his hotel room, Bond being suspicious slowly enters his room to find Madeleine there. She’s come to see whether he’s really working for the embassy and interrogates him using her psychology skills. He ends up confessing that Blofeld has escaped and he’s investigating as an outsider, but nothing life threatening should take place, just being a detective. She being surprised by his honesty asks him one final question: “After this is done, will you keep the diplomatic job, or become an assassin again?” He paused: “I choose you, because I love you. My life as a cold hearted killer is over, because I’m not cold hearted anymore. You slowly melted the ice away and now only a warm place is left. My happiness is no longer defined by alcohol and women, but by you. And to prove rhat, I want to ask you a question, shall we get married?” She’s shocked by surprise: “Really!? Oui!! uhh yes of course!" In a Las Vegas chapel, with Felix Leiter as Bond's best man, the two are married.
The next morning he drives to the base to investigate who set Blofeld free and where he might've gone to. He is being greeted by the Colonel saying "Good morning Commander Roodt, I trust you had a pleasant flight?" Bond replies in a slight South African accent: "It's a pleasure, Colonel Saunders, I've been looking forward to our meeting and the weapons presentation". "Absolutely, let's meet for lunch. In the meantime I have given my sergeant the order of walking you through our base". When Bond is being led through the base and the sergeant tells him about it, Bond notices that the colonel walked into his office a moment ago and now disappeared altogether when looking through the window. He decides that he needs to take a look there. He continues to look at all the exits, weapons, soldiers and vehicles when walking through the building, in case he needs a sudden escape. He asks the sergeant about the tasks and power structure of the base hoping to find out something of information. After he is being brought to his quarters and he is free from the sergeant he can start investigating. He sneaks into the office of the colonel and tries to find a hidden passage or something of that nature. Behind the desk the floor seems different, in sound and feeling. There appears to be a hatch and he enters it. Inside there seems to be a command center. Bond calls Q if he can hack it, who in turn is not amused and says: "So you, who left the service, now asks me to hack into a US airbase, you know how much trouble I could be in?" Bond answers: "Just ask M and he will tell you the truth, but do that later, I need your help now". Q asks Bond to type in some things in order to make a connection with Q's server that will download a virus granting Q access. Q is shocked to find that it is basically a proxy of Spectre's network. Then Bond is interrupted as the colonel seems to have found Bond snooping around and yells at him from his office above, followed by teargas grenades being thrown in. Bond desperately trying not to breath in the gas looks for an exit when he sees another hatch in a corner of the room. He finds himself in a tunnel and follows it ending up in a desolated piece of desert next to the base. Knowing there is no place to flee to and it won't be long before they find out where he went to he decides to try to enter the base again and reach his Range Rover. Without a gun at his disposal he tries to be as low profile as possible but also as fast as possible. He shoots a dart at the person in the eagle's nest using his watch and cuts through the fence. Within the premises he maps all the exits and guards in his head to decide the best way to his car and takes the wing on the other side of the office he invaded. He quickly moves through the corridors and encounters a total of two guards who he attacks until they're unconscious and continues to his vehicle. By the time he reaches his Range Rover they have localized him using the camera's and they're coming for him. He drives off and detonates the explosives that he had placed on the rocket installation and the control tower who conveniently lands on the airstrip rendering any air defense impossible for the time being. As the gate is being closed with vehicles he decides to drive through the fence which he cut through into the desert, jumping over dunes and slipping through the sand. Three Hummers immediately follow him and as they are better at heavy terrain he needs a way to gain steadier ground where the Ranger Rover will have the advantage of speed and movability. The Hummers are really gaining ground and one is driving into his car when he sees a salt lake to the South, he makes a sharp turn and one of the range rovers hits the other as their turn isn't as sharp, making one roll over and the other slowing down significantly. The last one remains however and keeps driving into the Ranger Rover continuing to damage his car. Bond is really wondering whether he'll make the salt plane. He hopes to buy time by trying to send the Hummer off course by hitting it in the side, which seems to help a little. When they reach the plane Bond starts to feel the power of his car and the sluggishness of the other as he starts to drive away from it.
In Vegas he immediately goes to his hotel room to get Madeleine and leave as soon as possible. In his bed he sees a woman figure lying on the bed, but it is dark as the lights don't work. He goes towards her and says: "Madeleine?" when touching her and the figure turns, it is someone else! Right at that moment he is hit in the back by Mr. Hinx and all turns dark.
Act 2
When Bond wakes up, he is tied up in a dark desolated room inside an old factory building, he hears that woman say: "Ernst, er ist bei Bewusstsein". He tries to focus on the people in the room but his vision is still blurry. Blofeld replies: "Gut Irma, dan kannst du jetzt das Serum gebrauchen". Bond regains focus and sees the woman, Blofeld and Mr Hinx. in the room. Blofeld continues to Hinx: "I'm very pleased with your work Mr. Hinx, make sure nothing unexpected happens to Bond." At this point Irma puts a syringe in his arm and he again fades away. He starts dreaming about his life. He starts with visions on him being a little boy in Skyfall, and Kincade comes to him to tell him about the death of his parents, his life in the Austrian Alps under guardianship of Hannes Oberhauser and the bullish and fighting behavior of Franz Oberhauser, he playing this game with Franz and Hannes letting him win to great anger of Franz, the skiing lesson of Hans and Franz being so angry at James that he attacks him and Hans sees no choice but to send James back to England. He then sees him not being accepted by fellow students on Oxford, him joining the secret service, the death of Vesper, the death of M and with a flash of white light he awakens in great shock. A powerful serum is it not, James? It's something Freulein Bunt has been working on with quite astonishing results. It's a panic inducing serum derived from a specific plant out of my garden of death, you should visit sometime James, although I rather doubt you'll live to see it". Bond replies: "Well, you only live twice, once when you are born, and once when you look death into the face". Blofeld, astonished by his poetic line responds: "Very poetic Mr. Bond, I shall remember this when I let you look death in the face, one final time. But first, let us play a game together, I do hope the serum showed you us, playing that game when we were young". Bond is brought to a table in the middle of a giant factory hall, covered in darkness and dust. Only a light is found above the playing table. A bunch of walnuts lying on both sides, as they used to bet with when they were kids. As they start playing the game, Bond asks him why he wants to take revenge on Britain for what he did to him. Blofeld replies that it's not driven by vengeance, but merely by profit. "When you took the system offline it didn't stop anything, as all the other systems did go online. Now we just use the Dutch to spy on you instead. But my organization has many more interests." Blofeld explains. "Do you know what Spectre stands for? It stands for Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. Mr. Greene's Quantum was a sub-division concerning resources and political influence, Silva gathered all info about NATO agents undercover with our international partners and freedom fighters while his beef with M was a nice smoke screen to cover up what really happened with that data he collected. Mr. White used to oversee all the different operations and banking operations for us until he became weak. Now we're using a different tactic, extortion. Britain is nicely isolated so when those internet cables are destroyed you're basically disconnected from the world, unless you pay of course, and install our system. These days, information is power, and when you know every weakness of your enemy while they don't know you, you can control everything. That's what we do!" Bond counters: "You're only fueled by revenge Franz! Your vengeance with your father, your vengeance with the world and your vengeance with me. You holding Britain at gunpoint, you holding the world at gunpoint for absolute control, is just you just trying correct the world of some imaginary pain it gave you. You're no genius, you're an insane mind. Furthermore, it seems you've lost this game, not so brilliant after all." Blofeld looks calculated at Bond: "Touché, quite right. But if your story is correct, then you've left one thing out. My vendetta for the person who gave me this scar..." Bond starts looking desperate at Blofeld: "What have you done with Madeleine!?" Blofeld responds coldly: "You've won this game so let me give you your award, you've really earned it"
Madeleine is hanging in a dark room tied to some old machinery and is accompanied by Irma Bunt, who has a whole range of syringes lying on a table. Blofeld looks satisfied at the display of torture materials and continues his explanation: "along with the serum we gave you we have a wide range of different biological compounds, whether it's medical to keep control over market prices to biological warfare. Or, as you're about to find out, torture and interrogation. Irma takes a syringe from the table and starts explaining: "zis is a very gut substance, it is contrived from ze venom of ze stingrays in our garden. Once you've been injected with zis, it will start attacking ze nerve system causing unbearable pain in ze entire body. Unless you've been given ze antidote within five minutes, you will die." Bunt inserts the syringe in Madeleine while Bond is looking furiously, trying to escape Hinx' grip. Blofeld continues: "now that I've got your absolute attention, who send you to the Nevada military base, what information did you retrieve from there and who have you given this information to? Unless I get an answer to these questions very soon, she will die from the injection." Bond refuses and demands that she is given the antidote, "she isn't part of this, Blofeld!" He screams. "You made her part of this, when you gave her your exploding watch, when she destroyed my eye and gave me this scar. Let's call this an eye for an eye." Madeleine starts to feel the immense pain of the poison, screaming out loud. "Ah, the serum starts kicking in, this is where it gets interesting" Blofeld tells delightedly "you have two more minutes before the damage is irreversible, I suggest you make good on those minutes before it's too late". Bond, knowing he won't win this, caves in "I was there sent by specific members of the double-0 section, was put under diplomatic protection to undertake an investigation into your whereabouts." Blofeld looks content, "what else?". "I found out that you have infiltrated every level of the main political establishment in the Nine-Eyes region and your system works, even after we shut it down in London" Bond explains with sadness "It seems you've won". Blofeld grins confidently. Bond gets angry "Now give her the antidote!!!" Blofeld's face changes to a serious face, but meaner. Evil was spouting out of his eyes. "You've told me the truth, and I appreciate that. But you've not told me all of it. That you think you can deceive everyone into getting what you want, like you did my father.... That will be the Spectre of your demise. And, since your time is up, hers." Bond resists violently and screams. While they're leaving, Bunt says to Bond "Auf wiedersehen mr Bond, oh no wait, I sink zis is goodbye." Madeleine is screaming from the unbearable pain for one moment until her muscles lose all strength and she starts facing downward, she is dead. Bond sits on the floor like a broken man, for this is the second time he lost everything that he holds dear. The image turns dark and blurry while the door is battered in by Leiter, but too late. He drags Bond out while he keeps fighting nothing in particular, until everything is black.
M, in his office, gets briefed by what has happened to Bond and what Q got from the system hack. M, looking serious, knows what Bond will do and that nothing will stop him. He orders Q to keep track of him using the smartblood and assist when possible. They have to trade carefully though, as they don't know who is able to follow them.
Act 3
Bond is seen traveling the world searching for the man and women who have killed his wife. Then, 6 months later. In a bar in Asia he is drinking like an alcoholic, along with Dikko Henderson of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service. "So it is really you, 007. Dikko Henderson, station Melbourne" Henderson introduces. Bond looks forward indifferently "agent 7777 actually" he says. "Well, agent '7777'" henderson says sarcastically "I've got a message from your Quartermaster, it seems the Garden of Death is in Japan. It is a castle on one of the islands in southern Japan, surrounded by volcanic pits, a carbonated lake and deadly flora and fauna. It is inhabited by a Swiss couple, a Dr. Guntram Shatterhand and his wife. The Japanese government is very wary of them as lots of Japanese commit suicide in his garden, but since they themselves have done nothing wrong their hands are tide." Bond drinks another martini and says cynically "So I'll be doing them a favor then". "I'll put you in contact with Tanaka of the Japanese intelligence. He'll get you ready. Good luck." After Bond tries to stand up from his alcohol consumption, he is hold back by Henderson, who says: "and Bond... I'm sorry about your wife"
In Tokyo, Bond meets with Tanaka. "It is our governments stance that your involvement with the Garden of Death is greatly appreciated, but you can't bring any weapon. I will train you in Karate and give you cover as a fisherman on a nearby island"
Bond is then seen fishing with a fisher girl, Chihiro Suzuki. He's watching over the castle, plotting his attack. This is interchanged with Bond learning karate by Tanaka in the mountains. Bond grows slowly more warm for Chihiro, and his skills improve greatly. Then, Chihiro and Tanaka cosmetically change him into a true Japanese man. "Welcome, Taro Todoroki!" Tanaka says with a smile of satisfaction, overlooking his work. "In the evening, you go". Chihiro then says: "I'm waiting for you in the bay every night".
Chihiro and Bond row towards the castle during the night. When arrived, Chihiro looks at Bond, 'good luck' she says, and then kisses him. Bond climbs the cliff towards the garden. He is dressed in a black ninja outfit and stakes out the place. He sees a Japanese guy going into the garden and eating some berries, which kill him shortly after with great pain. He moves toward the castle and leaves his gear in an open shed. Another Japanese guy walks into the garden toward the pool with stingrays, he stands by the side doubting whether he wants to jump in, when a guard walks up behind him and throws him into the lake. The man is stung and goes through some excruciating pains before disappearing into the lake. In the morning Blofeld checks with the guards, who tell him the deaths of the night and he nods approvingly. Then he spots the open shed and goes to check it out, he locks the door and gets a samurai sword, Bond is hidden in the bushes below a bunch of bags of soil. The sword is stabbed repeatedly in the bushes and through the bags, missing him by a mere inch. Blofeld walks away and Bond looks at him, "Tonight, I'll come for you" he's thinking.
The following night he goes to the castle and enters through an open window above the back porch. He sneaks through a bunch of large empty rooms, trying not to make the wooden floor squeek while moving. He walks above what seems to be the main hall as he is hearing Blofeld playing Richard Wagner's Götterdämerung with Siegfried's death and funeral march. Bond thinks to himself 'Siegfried's not the one dying tonight, Blofeld'. But at the crescendo moment one and a half minute in he's fallen into a trap door and falls down, where Hinx takes him. Bunt and Blofeld look at him but don't seem to recognize him, but at the second crescendo, Bunt looks shocked and yells to Blofeld, "das ist die Englander, der Spion welches Frau wir haben getötet!" Blofeld now takes an interest in the prisoner, looking at him closely "ich denke das du richtig bist Irma, er seht wie ihn aus. Brauch ihn zu dem Überhöhungszimmer." While Bond is brought to the interrogation room, Hinx shows Blofeld a piece of paper from Bond's pocket saying that he is Taro Todoroki and that he is deaf. In the muddy room, there's a wooden bench with a hole in it where Bond is placed onto. Blofeld explains in English this time: "you're now in our interrogation room, mr Todoroki. In 15 minutes, hot mud from the volcano will spring up, if you are indeed Taro Todoroki you will not hear this message and burn to death. If you are indeed James Bond as I suspect you will hear this and stand up before this moment, confirming your identity. One minute before Bond stands up and walks away from the bench confirming his identity. "I'm glad you stuck around long enough to accept my invitation to visit us here James, such a shame Madeleine is not with us here today, but I'm sure you'll join her soon. I told you that I would obliterate your world when you interfere in mine, now you're left with nothing." Bond, hearing the sounds of the spring coming up, grabs Bunt and throws her onto the bench when the mud comes up, burning her to death. Blofeld screams. Hinx and Bond start fighting while Blofeld is distracted by Irma's death. Than Blofeld starts swinging his sword out of anger at Bond, who manages to turn quickly and instead of Bond, Blofeld cuts down Hinx. Bond moves away from Blofeld's sword swings and gives some punches when he is able to take the sword from Blofeld, cutting him with it. He survives but Bond goes back into the room and blocks the hole in the bench with wood, he finds some gas bottles and puts them on top. Blofeld manages to get up and tries to hold Bond who goes upstairs and leaves onto the roof, Blofeld still behind him. He is heavily wounded but sees a weather balloon and cuts it loose and hangs on to it. When he is a short distance from the castle the spring gets active again, this time destroying the entire villa, parts of the villa hit bond and he is knocked unconscious while floating away on the balloon. When he wakes up, Chihiro is looking over him. Bond doesn't remember anything. "You don't remember anything at all?" She asks. Bond answers "I remember the face of a man, a bad man I think" Chihiro then tells Bond "you are Taro Todoroki, and you are my lover" Bond stays with her on the fishing island. Tanaka and Henderson come by the island to check on Bond but the villagers don't tell them about him. M writes the report of the mission in his office, and types "Commander Bond, C.M.G., R.N., missing, presumed dead"
A few months later, the doctor comes by and wonders why he has lost his memory for so long, and that he should go back. Chihiro refuses, explaining he has to stay, as she is pregnant of him. After a few more months Bond shows her a newspaper that mentions Shanghai, I remember this place from somewhere. I think I should go there, find out what happened to me. Chihiro looks sad, yes, she says. "I understand, just know one thing. I love you"

Roxanne escapes - but an examination of her bank records shows a massive amount of money going into it from a private account in the Cayman Islands.
After a bit more digging (thankyou, Q, whom Ariel meets in person this time) and a meeting at the Hildebrand bookshop, Bond and Ariel discover that the cash going into Roxanne's account was from another company - XENON TECHNOLOGIES - who are the biggest rivals to Prometheus in developing commercial spaceflight, and who won't have their first commercial flight ready for another twelve months.
It's time for Bond and Ariel to pay Xenon a visit.
NEW YORK/THE HAMPTONS
Bond and Ariel attempt to arrange a meeting with a representative of Xenon but find their path blocked at every opportunity - and when they try to force a meeting, they are forcibly removed from the building: although operating on behalf of and with the support of MI6, Bond is no longer a representative of them and therefore Xenon are not required to cooperate.
Bond reaches out to Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) for assistance - but Felix explains over dinner that his own hands are tied, he can't help his old friend. Unofficially, Felix advises that the CIA have traced major financiers of Prometheu to a charitable organisation. When Felix writes down the name on a napkin, he indicates that the first letters of the charity stand for SPECTRE.
Ariel, who has the Xenon office under observation, observes Roxanne leaving and radios Bond, who follows her through Central Park where she breaks into the zoo - she meets a mysterious man in the Reptile House where she recieves payment before leaving. He manages to plant a tracker on her - but it soon laid upon by several thugs, as well as Hinx. They fight through the park - with the resulting fight ending up on the skating rink. Bond takes out the thugs, but Hinx is trickier - enraged after his near death six months earlier at the hands of Bond.
The two men joust using the ice-skates of the skaters. Bond has his face slashed and Hinx almost overpowers him until a gunshot rings out and Hinx stumbles. It's Felix, coming in to save the day and arranging for Bond to get stitched up - he has also managed to arrange a meeting with the owner of Xenon the next day through a favour owed to him.
Hinx vanishes in the chaos following the gunshot. Bond's first priority is to regroup with Ariel and follow Roxanne to ascertain who she was being paid by in the reptile house earlier. They break into her apartment and find that she is dead, her eyes having been gouged out - which indicates that Hinx killed her too.
The following day, Bond and Ariel drive to the Hamptons to the estate (based on the Oheka Castle) of the owner of Xenon, Jonathan Orwell (Woody Harrelson), who claims to being frustrated at the leap that Prometheus have made in delivering their commercial space plane earlier than Xenon but claims ignorance of the recent corporate espionage and resents the implications that Xenon are involved. Bond fakes the breakdown of his car and convinces Orwell to give them a room for the night - their host aquiesces, which allows Bond to sneak about.
He learns that someone is blackmailing Orwell, threatening to frame him for insider trading. When Bond confronts him with this information, Orwell admits his culpability and explains that he has no knowledge of SPECTRE or Blofeld, which Bond believes.
Along with Ariel, Bond convinces Orwell to help him spring a trap for whomever is blackmailing him into a meeting - the meeting is arranged at a major NYC landmark (such as the Empire State Building observation deck) and Bond observes the meeting with a man he recognises from his meeting with Strait in London.
Briefing M, Bond reaches the conclusion - that Strait is faking corporate espionage and incriminating his rivals in order for this to be uncovered and their stocks to plummet. It also puts M into a precarious position - expose the fake espionage, the SPECTRE connection and Strait's culpability causing Prometheus to go under and loose the UK government millions of pounds, or stay silent on it and allow SPECTRE to profit from the corporate espionage.
The decision is thrown when Orwell goes on TV and announces that Xenon were culpable in the sabotage, but the presenter reveals this was a prerecorded message and that Orwells body has been fished out of the Hudson.
Very good, but why give away the plot and the tension at the beginning? If you are going back two weeks and then build back to this moment, why let the audience know that Bond is going to foil an attempt to sabotage the fight? And it would be better to cut the scene at a point when it looks inevitable that the space plane is going to crash, then when you return to it later, you can show Bond's ingenuity to bring it back under control. That said, how many times have we seen Bond bring a plane or a helicopter back under control at the last minute? It is a Bond cliche. We only need to look as far back as Spectre.
My knowledge of NYC is a little limited - so I was using what I'd seen in movies. It is perfectly possible the scene could change to one World Trade Tower and have little to no impact on the flow of the story.
I think you need to think about what is being set up in that first scene - and what is then revealed in the treatment. Yes, we know Bond and Ariel stop the sabotage, kill Hinx, have Strait hostage and the plane is brought under control - but we are then introduced to the cross and doublecross corporate espionage plot.
This is not so much about that point, it is about getting to that point - and if the plane is meant to have been destroyed by the sabotage, then why are Strait and Hinx on it. How do Bond and Ariel figure out that the person who at first appears to be an ally is actually one of the masterminds behind the organisation.
You can still set up all you talk about without having Bond save the situation.
Take the pre-credit sequence of Mission Impossible 3 for example. It creates a situation in which you don't know how Ethan Hunt is possibly going resolve it, and then doesn't deal with it for much of the movie - thereby creating heightened tension. If the audience had been shown in advance how Tom Cruise resolves that situation right at the beginning of the movie, it would not have been nearly as effective, and really quite pointless.
The problem with this plotting--aside from its obviousness--is that it sets Bond up for yet another revenge mission and a Camille-like platonic love interest once again.
While I like the idea of Madeleine as a double agent in Bond 25, it would instantly make SP a much bleaker movie.
So...Your idea for Bond 25 is to just re-post outlawgenius' story?
Honestly, I have no idea what that post was. I may have accidentially not included that sentence as part of a quote? Otherwise, I have zero memory of this..
Why not have her go missing instead? Bond has to find her and maybe Bloferhauser has some clues
Some think SP made itself and Bond look like a joke. Turn about is fair play. SP in an inept attempt to make Blofeld just so awesome undermined previous villains especially Silva... and made sure Bond quit, stole a car, and bolted with a woman he hardly knew.
Yes but that's pretty much the obvious set up for B25 that Mendes gave us.
Boring. May have to wait for B26 to be entertained.
Nice SP is effectively the only Bond to F'up the previous three films behind it AND the next film to follow.
How has it fucked up the previous three films? It's not been Lucassed. They are still the same films they always were.
a new mission also have villies back as 0 the section chief of the 00 and have p99 as standard issue for rest of service and ppk standard issue for 00
Agreed but doubt they do that.
