Mathematics can be considered as either a singular or plural noun. The British (and proper) way of abbreviating Mathematics is 'Maths'.

I wasn't saying he was wrong 'Math' is American English and perfectly acceptable to use. It was meant as a bit of Anglo-American banter, nothing more serious than that @IncompetentHenchman

To be fair in recent years we've had Bond come out with obscenities like 'cell phone', 'I gotta go' and, without doubt the most offensive line in the series, 'time for a station break' so either it's just me or you don't quite get what you used to when you pay for an Eton education any more.
Perhaps Hannes taught him to say such things?
So have I and I'm younger than this Bond.
And Fleming is careful to note that Bond doesn't own a TV so not sure how much he would've seen of Starsky and Hutch and Happy Days let alone Breaking Bad and House of Cards.
Again perhaps Hannes and Franz liked nothing more than crowding round the telly for a bit of The Fall Guy and TJ Hooker and Bond had no choice?

The asylums are full of people who think they're Napoleon or that SP is constantly unfairly maligned.
The reason I 'bashed' SP by mentioning Hannes is because that is the film that takes liberties with Bond's back story and tells us about his childhood so I was referring to because of the earlier comment that Bond would've watched telly as a kid.
If the debate was about shit editing I would reference QOS and if it was about how Bond should be shown playing baccarat I would moan about the poker in CR.
I know you have a stroke every time someone mentions SP without saying it is the best film in history and fine you like it. We get it. But this is a 'discussion' forum and not 'a being browbeaten by you into agreeing that SP is an unrivalled work of genius' forum.

At least we can thank Christ that America is the dominant market that we have to cater for and not Germany. Bond saying 'my cell phone' is one thing but to have him saying 'my handy' would be too much. Without doubt the gayest sounding word in the German language.
While we're at it do Americans actually say 'station break'? Isn't it 'commercial break' or 'ad break' either of which I could have lived with. I think TND is the only time I have ever heard the phrase.

Some points/opinions that I derived from this:
-SP, DAD, SF and TWINE all take around 17 minutes to get started, which is too long. Even though I like them all except for DAD they are too long for something that begins the movie. GE is the absolute limit; go beyond that and you've taken too long.
-Speaking as objectively as possible, the SF and SP titles are definitely too long, I myself felt them dragging in cinema. I also think QOS got a little too long, but that is more because of its design.
-There will probably never be a PTS shorter than FRWL, or a PTS longer than TWINE.
Good points! It seems EON went with Craig from Connery to Brosnan PTS wise. The first two PTS were early Connery short, the second two were Brosnan long. That's quite interesting and I guess it has to do with Mendes choices.
I also prefer the titles (theme song) to be 3 minutes tops.
SF and SP definitely went overboard with close to 4 minutes.
I think the boat chase would have been a great start to the main part of the movie instead, and the main titles coming in after 17 minutes feels a bit weird.
