Good to know.
From your lips to gods or should I say Babs ears.
Is there a difference?
Good call. Prisoners and Sicarrio were excellent examples of creating tension (Sicarrio especially) and unique atmosphere. And he knows how to handle conflict between characters.
In the U.S., on the other hand, in terms of *number of tickets sold* only Skyfall has sold considerably more tickets than any other Bond film 1995-present.
Skyfall (2012): 37,842,000/average ticket price $7.96
Die Another Day (2002): 27,584,000/$5.81
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997): 26,911,200/$4.59
Casino Royale (2006): 25,428,700/$6.55
The World Is Not Enough (1999): 24,853,800/$5.08
GoldenEye (1995): 24,403,900/$4.35
Quantum of Solace (2008): 23,449,600/$7.18
SPECTRE (2015): 23,001,900/$8.43

And then I compared it with the legal difficulties Pierce Brosnan was facing when he almost came James Bond in 1986. NBC then (bastards!) in the blink of an eye renewed his contract for more "Remmington Steele" episodes.
So here's why I think Daniel Craig will be back in 2019 for a 5th time as James Bond 007:
--> The above recent article makes me think that the Broccoli's made sure that the contract Craig signed with Showtime did not include wishy-washy clausules, so that they could sign Craig up for another season if "Purity" becomes a success. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a legally binding 'sub-contract' in place between Showtime and EON Productions, in which EON Productions has more reason to smile :-).
Showtime CEO David Nivens said this about it: So Showtime already depends on what EON wants. I think it would be the smartest thing to do, to have a contract between Showtime and EON. If someone could do some research on this matter, then this would be great :-).
--> Moreover, it gives the Broccoli's more time to work out a new distribution deal between EON and MGM on one hand and another big film distributor on the other hand (Most likely Warner Bros.? Universal perhaps?) And, a much better distribution deal, in which MGM could slowly roll out some distribution efforts on its own again?
--> Also, don't forget they made Daniel Craig co-producer. I refuse to believe Craig snubs the Broccoli's by throwing away his co-producer credits. People really underestimate what it means to be co-producer. As co-producer, Craig’s the first Bond actor to have input into director, script and every aspect of production, which means that “Bond 25” offers a powerful creative inducement.
--> And lastly, Daniel Craig's 5-film contract is still in place (check the legislative registers of movie contracts). So the longer all these negotiations take -MGM still searching for a distributor, Gary Barber saying "Bond films will premiere in a three-to-four-year cycle", Barbara not very keen on making one Bond film every two years- the more interested Daniel Craig could be in reprising his two contracted positions at EON: Co-producer of the James Bond films and an Actor portraying 007.

If you ask me? I'm in for the wait! I'm in for a 2019 premiere of Bond #25 (2018 might be a bit too soon). I'm in for the wait, I'm in for the wonderful co-producer Mr Craig! Because I'm foremost a patient, noble and humble Bond fan who loves Daniel Craig and who doesn't give a f*#k about how fast other spy franchises want to produce a another Bond-esque film :-).
PS: Is that topic still alive on the MI6-forums in which everyone in here predicts who'll follow Craig's footsteps? Trust me, close it :-)
In the Dec. 1, 2014 draft of SPECTRE, Bond's final line to Madeleine is, "We have all the time in the world."
If this information is accurate, Madeleine gets bumped off, Bond goes off the deep end (again, in the sense of the films) and he eventually goes after Blofeld, a la the You Only Live Twice novel. In terms of the movies, this would be the second time since 2012.
Excellent points.
That would be the greatest thing ever, especially if Refn ponied up and took the reins. I think this is all in my/our dreams, though...
I guess i do have to admit i went a little too hyperbolic, whose I apologize.
I hate when Pierce detractors go the hyperbolic way to criticize him and now i did so to go in his defense. Its just sometimes i feel like its me against the world lol.
but yes ofcourse good looking is different to every woman and i guess you are right many won't care about Bond no matter who is cast.
Ohh and i do understand there is a big difference between attractive and good looking, actually there are women who find the veryd good looking men unattractive example my mom.
Who never really liked Brad Pitt that much who is considered one of the most beat men of all time she likes them good looking but not perfect looking if you know what i mean.
So as you can see I understand the difference but i do like some very good looking men including Pierce and Brad Pitt but with time ive found Criag attractive as well. He does have a special something.
This the guy who thinks space isn't real. If he has a mate in the business then I'm Arnold Palmer.
Can't believe people are even engaging with this inanity: 'I've got a mate who works in the business who heard that blah blah blah'.
And people are treating this as credible? At least come up with something original.
His theories on space are his own belief and should be respected though as they are just as credible as religion so don't knock him for that (even though he is clearly winding you up).
Space is very much real, so here you go :-)
hear, hear!!!
