  • @bondjames, you can say his momentum has been slowed. I believe the Trump tide has turned. Yes, the next few debates will still have meaning, and I suspect Trump will be visibly desperate to "stick it to that bitch" in the second one...but I suspect the polls that show up early next week will have Hillary back up by about 10 points.

@BeatlesSansEarmuffs, that may very well be, and I'll be interested to see that transpire if it is in fact the case.

It will be difficult for Trump to 'stick it to that "B"' in the 2nd one because it is a town hall format, so if he is down by 10 points next week, then your gal has probably got this one won.

    Not sure about that.....

But I do think Hillary Clinton prefers to debate Trump way more than, let's say, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio or Mitt Romney. She's completely in her element debating her. Look at her body language, her shrewd smile :-P:

"Donald? It's good to be with you" (1min 50sec) :-P

If Hillary can repeat the success and impact of Bill's landmark town hall against Bush Sr. in that election, it'll be something to see.

Hillary Clinton is known for liking....to talk directly with people in a townhall format. Let's see what it gives you.

    Donald will win it all..

After the email scandle, doing a shitty job of being secretary, bengazhi , her husband and 8 years of Obama people are ready for change. Trump might not be the best option but he's way better than Hillary and after seeing her in the White House I just don't think she's capable of being president.

Time for some change. I am 22 and voting for the first time. Didn't vote in the previous election for certain reasons but I will definitely be voting for Trump. Also glad trump voiced his opinion on the cop vs black killings.

200 black deaths by cops this year.
558 deaths in Chicago by blacks yet black lives matters says nothing.

Not a racist at all but it's crazy how the black community won't speak up about cleaning the hoods and Chicago gang violence. The media also tries to spin the whole racist thing when in reality the reason for the cop killings are mainly untrained cops not racist at all.

Also a lot of blacks who are killed don't obey officers orders and freak out or get hostile and they get put down.

Innocent or guilty you have to obey the police. Glad Trump spoke up on that!

"Not a racist/sexist/homophobe at all but" is almost always followed up with something that is.
  • @CASINO: I am proud to say that in my first election, I was able to vote against Richard Nixon. I very much doubt you'll be able to make a boast similar to mine 44 years down the road. Trump is a con man and if you can't see that you have my sympathy.

Considering I won a national and state basketball championship and was the only white guy on my team and played in the hood for 2 years I am definitely it racist. Just because a black person is killed by someone of the opposite race does not mean it's a racist crime. 100s of people die everyday and the media doesn't report it unless it's a black guy by someone of the opposite race.

Gee deary, your obsession with my body parts is quite creepy. Or now you're going to tell us your are also a doctor. Your universe expands by the second. Do you jet there too? When Trump mentioned 'a 400 lb. man sitting on his bed' hacking on the internet, I know your family appreciated the mention. The time stamp on your posts is quite incriminating for a person of your alleged status.

It was you who made up all this phony resume pf your self-importance with no proof. And you've already been admonished for your attacks, I'd say you haven't been paying attention. Tsk..tsk.

There you go again. Can't let it go can you. Pity. You've been taking lessons from your favourite candidate perhaps? I don't mean Clinton btw. Baited by a post?

This is a dead heat election at present, which I said it would be months back. I realize that rubs you the wrong way, but you'll just have to live with it for while, won't you.

I would be remiss if I did not respond to your comments. People get upset when a man can walk into a movie theater, kill over 30 people and gets taken alive, when a man goes into a church and kills nine people and is taken alive and actually taken to Burgher King before being booked...a man is selling CD's or cigarettes and gets killed by the police.
    that stinks...

Also yea more whites are killed by police because there are more whites in this country and the fact that most serial killers and sex offenders are white...

The media likes to feed the flames to sell more papers and bolster their ratings. Also and this is my own opinion: If the news media covered the unarmed whites who are killed by police then the support for the police among whites (65% versus 30% among minorities) would drop considerably.

That might be true but the black culture is an issue. If I walked in Compton (5'11 skinny white guy) everyday for a week I guarantee you I would be in the ground. I would get jumped so fast!
That's a problem! The place I played basketball with was an all black gym I had teammates arrested during warmups, place had drugs everywhere.
    Street sign was cardboard...

There are no ghetto white neighborhoods. Maybe poor but not ghetto or hood. That whole Michael brown thing that started the main protests years ago was a guy who robbed and punched a 90 year old woman in the face then punched a police officer and went for his gun...

    That's the problem with America.

Not all cops are the same. Protesting in Texas for something that happened in North Caroline is so retarded. That's like me going to New York to protest an angry ex girlfriend I had.. Makes no sense. I got pulled over by a white cop who had his hand on his gun the entire time while he talked to me in my BMW and let me off with a warning for speeding. He was pretty nice and calm though..Was with friends and my friend got pulled over multiple times during the summer for speeding and the cops were super mean sometimes and others really nice..

My whole family was in a car and my mom was accused of dealing cocaine because we were coming back from a basketball game late at night and they assumed we had drugs in our gym bags... my siblings were all super young too and it was my parents and us. Not all cops are the same. Still the protesting and and everything happening right now is just so stupid.

Plus you have all these black athletes who make $100M and have mansions nice cars and then they have the audacity to kneel during the national
anthem... Its disrespectful. Some of these cases I have protested online because it was clearly unnecessary and racist like killing a man for selling CDS and cigs. You get my overall message though?

    @CASINOROYALE
WTF are you talking about? did you read the article?

And How can you call nationwide protest retarded? Your comment along that line ...to call it retarded is an insult to retarded comments everywhere.
Where were you in 1992 during the Rodney King riots. Those started in LA and swept across the nation. Las Vegas, Atlanta, Seattle, San Francisco to name a few. Injustice in one place means injustice everywhere. We are all in this together.

the problem is the police departments and the militarization of our police in America. the gutless judges, prosecutors and the police Guild is turning this country into a police state. Cops are above the law not legally but factually thanks to the judges, prosecutors and worthless politicians.

Now read the article and look at the case of Danielle and hope that this will make my earlier point.

First of all, Obama's riding a 52% approval rating right now. If Americans were suddenly given an option to hand him a third term, they'd do it.

In terms of race, why do you think the inner city, particularly Chicago, is seeing these issues? You need to look at failed Republican supply-side economic policies and a "starve the beast" attitude toward government and community building. It's actually been an attack on the poor that began in the early 80s. And here we are, now a generation and a half later, seeing the true toll of Reaganomics. Look at the economic growth in the U.S. since the mid-80s and then look at how 80-90% of that growth went into (and stayed in) the hands of the top 10%. The poor have gotten poorer and the rich have gotten richer. I don't need to draw you a picture.

What's particularly interesting about your "obey orders" argument is that it's not one that seems to apply to someone like Cliven Bundy. Right? In the case of Bundy, who ILLEGALLY trespassed on federal land, it was perfectly OK to not only DISOBEY authorities and the law, but DRAW WEAPONS against authorities and threaten to shoot and kill them. Actually, Bundy was viewed as a HERO by the Right: http://mediamatters.org/blog/2016/07/14/fox-news-attacks-black-lives-matter-lawless-after-cheering-cliven-bundy-s-lawless-militia/211561

I can only imagine the right-wing freakout if armed blacks trespassed and then threatened to shoot police officers who attempted to arrest them.

The hypocrisy from the Right is not just hilarious, it's downright terrifying.

No, the problem with America is that people call a kneeling "peaceful" protest "disrespectful" while supporting a candidate for President who's on record for calling John McCain "only a war hero because he was captured" and later saying "I like people who weren't captured." I mean, seriously, WTF?
  • @FLeiter, you're not helping us with a civil dialogue. Reasonable people can always disagree reasonably.

@CASINO ROYALE, you're a young fellow (22 years old per your earliest post) and seem not to be aware of some of the history that @OHMSS69 and @TripAces are referring to. OHMSS, for example, asks "Where were you in 1992 during the Rodney King riots"? If my basic arithmetic is correct, OHMSS, he wasn't born yet. CASINO, I recommend a serious bout of self-education beyond the bounds of what Fox News tells you. Anybody who's seriously considering handing the reins of power back to the Republican party after the mess the last 'Pub made of things really needs to look the economic and international shambles left behind by George the Lesser. Barack Obama did a fantastic job of gluing all the broken shards of pottery back together, and he doesn't get enough credit for it in some quarters -- but really, when you were 16 years old the whole system was about ready to go down the tubes. The fact that it didn't is largely due to the efforts of President Obama. Then, once you've brought yourself up-to-date on the history of the 21st Century in America so far, you really, really ought to take a good look at the life & times of Donald Trump. The reason so many mainstream Republicans find him intolerable isn't because they're afraid he's going to fix everything single-handedly & make them look like dolts -- it's because he has NO IDEA how things run, or even how the Constitution sets the system up in the first place. I told you before and I tell you a second time: he's a con man. Please don't make it necessary for me to tell you this obvious truth a third time. In last night's debates, he had no real excuse for all the contractors and small businessmen he's stiffed over the decades. This is the man you think is going to watch out for the American working man? Please! He also stated that he was being "smart" not to pay any taxes -- a charge he has yet to deny, BTW -- but I'd say he's pretty damned stupid to make that admission in front of the largest television audience in American history! If you don't like Hillary, well, you're entitled to that opinion, but again, do a little more research beyond what you've heard from Fox News before you decide to hold fast on that point. Vote for Gary Johnson or Jill Stein if you must, go ahead & vote for Topolino -- if he's good enough for Daniel Craig then he's more qualified for the office than Trump. But do us all a favor: please do not commit the mortal sin of casting a vote for the orange agent of the Apocalypse. On behalf of the human race, I thank you.

So what saves Trump is the assumption that a vast amount of Americans are angry idiots? That illustrates how badly he did if you ask me... But I agree it was a pattern through the primaries as well. However there he never met a rival of Hillary's level.

Trump's candidacy in the Republican party has been proof to me for over a year that yes, a large sect of the public are so angry, ill-informed and willing for change that they are intent on risking getting someone like him for the job. A imbecilic risk, I'd say, but look at how much of Trump's base are uneducated. There's a correlation there. When he said, "I love the poorly educated," I took that not as him saying, "I want to help these people," but more as him noting, "I can take advantage of these people and easily trick them into voting for me."

Yes, the notion among the American working class that this billionaire magalomaniac will somehow stand up for them and be their saviour is pretty bizarre to say the least...

In Europe we are certainly under the impression that most Americans are uneducated and brain washed with conservative propaganda. However we also find it baffling that so many reasonable Americans are likely to skip voting, even if it is to counter this buffoon. That is the real problem I guess. Trump's supporter get more power than they have simply because they are passionate enough to vote, while many of his detractors are not...

@jobo, you are absolutely correct about that. I'll be voting for the first time this November, for Hillary. It's not something I'm proud of, but Trump's supporters will vote regardless with extreme determination, and any undecideds or weak Hillary supporters need to come out in support of her to stop a Trump victory from happening at all costs.
