What's your favourite gunbarrel sequence? Mine would have to be either GE or FYEO.

    I quite enjoy watching Dr. No's gunbarrol, and think it's one of the better ones, but i also like how Casino Royale's was done (but i don't want that sort of thing to happen again, once was enough), showing that that's how Bond became 007, and got his Licence to kill, i always like GoldenEye's aswell, apart from sometimes the theme putys me off, makes the film feel dated, but i think it's a neat gunbarrol sequence :D

    I'd have to go with either LTK or GE, with the slight probably going to LTK.

    The music makes all the difference.

    Favorites — DN, YOLT, OHMMS, FYEO, LTK, GE

    Worst — DAD, QOS (I can forgive the creative attempt in CR, but only just)

    Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, so many others as well. It's much easier to pick the weaker ones, such as Die Another Day (the bullet) or Quantum Of Solace (fast walk and MK12ified - read, ruined).

    FRWL for me. I love every second of the sound, every frame of film. The long-distant shot of Bond, the energy of the music, the perfect timing of the gun shot, it's all there.

    Weren't the origionals actually filmed down an actual gun barrol?

    Binder, I believe photographed the inside of a gun barrel. That one of course was used for the first three films, the ones with Simmons.

    Hmm....I'd probably have to choose a few on this one:
    DN gunbarrel started it all, of course, but I love the delayed reaction until the music starts, leaving a sort of stunned silence with a gunshot echo...pure EPIC!
    GF gunbarrel has one of the best music pieces playing in the background, and it is very Bond-like
    OHMSS gunbarrel is pure stylish and I actually like Lazenby's smooth walk and one knee thing
    TSWLM gunbarrel is really cool and "together"
    FYEO gunbarrel has an epic cowbell and great music
    LTK gunbarrel is the better of Dalton's two, and has awesome music
    GE gunbarrel is Brosnan's best, and is pure Bond

    My favourite gunbarrel would be the one from FYEO... But the best ones go to all the Brosnan gunbarrels (incl the one from DAD, minus the CGI bullet)... Brosnan's walk and his turn when he shoots, very fluid and natural, none of the others had that.. Dalton was close, but he just had too much swing on his left arm when he was walking..

    There are 3 favorites gun barrels for me:

    My favourite gunbarrel would be the one from Casino Royale, many fans considered it was not a "traditional gun barrel". IMO CR's gunbarrel is unique and creative because for the first time we can actually look who is the opponent behind the gun and incorporated into film narratives. Something that never had done before, and I think they never will.

    The second is OHMSS, i like the George’s smooth walk and kneel before shooting.

    Well I like them all but my personal fav is Diamonds Are Forever the echoish sound is simply FAB on HD TV. Also For Your Eyes Only & Live And Let Die all top marks.

    I'm right there with you! While the editing of the sequence is strong, the problem is all Sean! The way he moves his arm up to the side makes it look like he's losing his balance.

    Totally true--compare George's or Roger's walk to Daniel Craig's in QOS. DC lacks all the swagger (see the Lazenby interview from 2 days ago, where Peter Hunt told him to put on the swagger). DC either looks like a thug, or a suit and tie wall-street guy in a hurry. Either way, he lacks that 'style'. The producers really need to bring back this side of Bond again!

    The ones with Simmons are awesome, but there s something about the music in the YOLT gun barrel. I love it.

    Casino Royale's version of the gunbarell is my current favourite of the lot.

    It mystifies me why everyone seems to rate GE so highly.

    Yes I would agree that the CGI update of Binder's design is perfect and Broz does a pretty good job but the music, which is an extremely important part of the overall GB experience, is absolutely terrible.

    I want a bombastic rendition of the Bond theme for my GB not someone banging a pan with a wooden spoon.
