  Recent interview with Jason Connery where he mentions playing golf with his Dad a couple of months ago. By the sounds of things he's still playing pretty well.

  I do miss the days when you could expect a new Connery film in the cinemas each year with countless appearances by Sean on Leno, Letterman, etc etc.

  What I found interesting was that Steven Seagal broke Sean Connery wrist during the film of Never Say Never Again.

  I just came across this interesting interview from Belgian tv with King Sean from 1968 (it must have been then because it predates the 1968 election).
  
  I found his observations on US politics fascinating, because he could have been speaking about last year and not 1968. Things never change.

  Woah, missed this link.
  
  Did Connery get together with DeNiro and Costner to discuss the film, or was he interviewed separately? Either way, good to hear the guy talking about the film.

  Gangster films had two golden ages. First was the 30s/40s Warner Bros films with Cagney, Robinson and co. Scarface, Little Caesar, Angels With Dirty Faces etc.
  
  Second was the 70s and 80s with The Godfather movies, Get Carter, Once Upon a Time In America, The Untouchables.
  
  There were great films in other decades of course (Brighton Rock in the 40s, Bonnie & Clyde in the 60s) but these were two all too brief eras when the genre shone.

  Crikey yes indeed. I was only using a few examples.
  
  Haven't seen Scarface for years, but I remember how ultra violent it seemed at the time. Maybe it has diminished now, with Tarantino taking violence up a notch, but back in the day it was pretty startling.

  True. But, he didn't show his face around the movie industry for months after several threats over the phone from the gangster's superiors.
