I completely get why people are on the fence but it's better than another mobile game right?

Personally I think this is fantastic news if true. The last season of The Walking Dead was a little disappointing compared to the first two but I still really like Telltale and their formula and I'd love to see it applied to Bond. It also doesn't mean we won't get a more traditional action focused Bond game in the future, I don't think they hold the rights to any of their properties, they just seem to licence them. If anything this would improve the chances of us getting another action focused Bond game because it'd renew interest in the brand in the video game world.

I'm very excited. I've only played The Walking Dead but that is on the whole one of the best experiences I've ever had in a video game. Praying this is true because I'd love to see what they could do with Bond. Wonder if it'll be a film tie in or an original take? My money is on either a 50s/60s set game featuring Fleming's Bond or an original universe.

The image logo looks like a poor fan art recreation, to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fake, and I won't believe a random image is a sign of a new Bond game. People fall into this same illusion of belief in the production thread, taking rumors or random bits of BS as truth before anything is confirmed.

Why would a random survey include a leak to a new Bond game that has gotten no teasing elsewhere from the developers? Come on, now.

From what I understand, it's from a demographic survey planned to go out after E3 (probably so they can get an idea of which games will sell well, which need more marketing, etc?). I'd assume they haven't teased it because they want to be a surprise.

It just seems like an odd thing to make up to me as Bond isn't a property that (us lot aside) many have been crying out for a new game of. Solstice is an odd title as well, I'd expect something more generic if it was fake.

As always it's best to be skeptical but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some truth to this. Guess we'll find out soon anyway but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Let's keep in mind though that nobody believed Blood Stone was ever a real project and everyone at the time assumed the "racing game" that was mentioned was a sequel to 007 Racing. They all thought Bloodstone (it was surfaced as a one word title) was a ridiculous fan rumour, much like the supposed Phoenix Rising.

Hmmm interesting, so if true, that would mean it's an origin story of sorts, probably set in the present time... that would make me a bit nervous.

anyway, i will hold out till E3 before i go crazy over this.

Well we don't have the complete rest of the phrase, could be "originally smth". Because if it is a origin story, why say "past life of espionage" ?

I'm very skeptical about its "goodwill" turnouts. It hardly has a chance to fare well with me, unless it does.

Not very keen on the origin story idea at all (it's one of the reasons I've never loved CR). One of the strengths of Bond is how they pretty much nailed it in 1962 imo. You see him at the card table for the first time and he's fully formed. No character arc required. So seeing him become that person doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, especially since the Craig films touched on it not that long ago.

I guess it would be sort of cool to see him get recruited and see more of his military background but yeah, this news has killed my enthusiasm a little bit. Still, I'm just happy that we might be getting a proper original story Bond game again.

it says past life FOR espionage ;) (i read that wrong too, the first time)
of course we don't know anything for sure, but my take would be Bond only started at Mi6 in that game and if it's set in the present who knows what he's been doing before.

Like many here I would take it while the title is unimaginative I would be fine with if the question becomes who would voice Bond and whose likeness would they use? I am assuming Craig for both but on the other hand there were rumors of Hiddleston meeting with producers perhaps it's for that I am shooting in the dark of course

Honestly I would be happy with it if this is true I enjoyed Batman The Tell tale game

I'd imagine an original character model and an unknown (or at least only well known for doing video games) voice actor is most likely @Risico007

I think the dialogue options will be a great fit for Bond because that way they can appease all the different Bond fans. Want to play it cold and ruthless? Press this button. Want to deliver a Moore esque quip? Press this one.

Another thought: I'd imagine the origin story angle is so that we can form different relationships with the MI6 regulars and everyone else who Bond would otherwise have established history with. I'm not a fan of the Bond Begins concept at all but I think I can see what they're going for. And what's cool is (assuming it's real and does well) by the time of season 2, we could all have our own relatively unique Bond universes set up. I'm excited.

Wait till you see Troy Baker voicing Bond. ;)

    So an origin story ....

I could be wrong but my gut is saying this is legit. Of course in a perfect world I would use an actor who will never be bond but would of been interesting like Sam Neil or Tom Hiddleston to do the voice...

That being said I liked Batman the telltale series (well the first three episodes) I am willing to bet I will enjoy this as well

If this all turns out to be made up, that's a cruel move to play on fans.

Personally I'm hopefull i also hope it is Craig doing the voice because I fear it will be as poor an actor as the guy from 007 legends

I personally liked Timothy Watson impersonating a quasi-Daniel Craig in 007 Legends.

It won't be Craig. Like Agent Under Fire, they'll most likely do an original character model with a new voice actor. Which is great, meaning we'd get to play Fleming's Bond, with the scar and all.

I just have a hard time believing this, especially with the news about the rights for Bond gaming going to social gambling seemingly exclusively. This is one of those "too good to be true" moments in life. That it's supposed to be a Telltale game isn't exactly exciting, either.

Better than some garbage mobile game, but these Telltale games don't interest me, unfortunately, so I'd likely pass on one involving Bond.

Hey guys, I just heard from a super exclusive source that I can't name (totally not because they don't exist) that there will be special DLC dialogue options in this Telltale game for every fan of each Bond.

Depending on which season pass you buy, you can press "X" to either....

    *Flare your nostrils like Sean...
*Mention that the "other fella" never got that dialogue option in tribute to George
    *Raise your eyebrow like Roger
    *Scowl and glare like Tim
*Make a pain face/grimace like Pierce
*Do a lip pout like Dan

Hey Brady bunch.... next week after E3 when this is announced formally we can come back here and laugh at you.

Your jokes sound like they are written by Purvis and Wade....
