    Question to the experts here:

My dear army-bro must have all the Dynamite stuff and luckily everything up to Kill Chain (full book) is pre-ordered at our local comic shop.

I also made sure I get the fourth edition of the James Bond comic strip collection.
    What we have here is:
    -SPECTRE
    -DR. NO
    -GOLDFINGER
    -OCTOPUSSY

Can you tell me if there will be a fifth book?

Also what about one-shots. We got Moneypenny and Solstice here. Is there more?

I never read comics in my life but I must say that Hammerhead is really cool! I'm going to read Felix Leiter next because Tiger is a favorite of mine in the film.

Certainly. These Books are collections of the comic strips from the 50's/60's and they shoud have enough material for at least 2 more books.
I have the old collection, which were 6 omnibuses, so i haven't upgraded to the new ones yet.

The first one shot was "Service", and the next will be "M" next month. So 4 in total.

There is a first time for everything @Andi1996Ruegg ;)
If you like Tanaka in YOLT you will LOVE him in FL.

I still can't see that happening (wishful thinking on my part that it gets releasesd sometime in Q1) but i certainly wouldn't mind if they release Live and Let Die on that date, which is currently my favorite Fleming novel

    @ClarkDevlin well it's a long story...
I have read all the Fleming novels once in 2006/2007 but in German, and the original translation was notoriously bad, thats why they did a new one a couple years ago.

Around 2 years ago i deceided to read ALL Bond novels, from Fleming to Horowitz, in no specific order, and so i eventually got to Fleming. I Finished CR a couple month ago and am 85% through Live and Let Die. This time i am reading the original english versions of course.

Its soooooo much better than i remembered. And i must say it does feel like i am reading them for the first time. I do remember some of the story beats but i could not have picked up on the finer points of Bonds lifestyle and character 10 years ago.

Fleming's storytelling skills also elevates the book by a wide margin. Not only I love Bond's lifestyle choices he injected with his fancy taste but I also love how he pays attention to every detail.

Absolutely, his Description of Jamaica when Bond arrives there is just breathtaking... and i could not resist ordering some Blue Mountain Coffee :D he just does that to you.

Also, when Bond gets all philosophical about live and death in the Airplane, flying through the storm, is one of my favorite moments in literary Bond.
Since i travel often, i have found myself in that headspace many times :))

I should get down to reading Live and Let Die for perhaps the 15th time once I finish reading my Forever And a Death copy I got for Christmas. :D

sure, if you haven't read them in a while, it might be a good opportunity to get reaquainted. Another reason why i started reading them is the Folio Editions. Looking forward to read my copy of Moonraker next.

I was thinking about getting Forever and a Death myself, but after reading some previews and reviews i feel like there might not be enough Bond in it, meaning the main character isn't even remotely like Bond etc, and only the story resembles what that movie might have been.
Let me know what you think about it once you are through with it Clark.

Dynamite will release a hardcover collection of the first 4 one shots in Summer:

I suspected they would do this. I have all three of the one-shots released so far and waiting for M - so maybe when the next round of one-shots (5-8) I'll just wait until four are released and buy it collected. I prefer the hardbacks (have all the long series in hardbacks and to be honest I prefer the look of them that way.

Same, I prefer the Hardcovers as well.
Since the collection is called Vol. 1, its pretty much a given that they will release a second bundle at some point. In which case i will probably hold out for that as well.

I myself prefer the separate comics. There's something very rewarding about reading a single issue 'as is' which collections, either in TP or hardcover format, fail to present me with. But of course that's a matter of personal taste. ;-)

@DarthDimi, I guess people like the feeling of anticipating a story issue to issue, but I've never been very reactive to that. I like having all of a story at once, to read at my leisure. The monthly release schedules create a sense of impatience, or worse than that, forgetfulness, for me.

With TV, I'm additionally more likely to wait for a whole season to be over before watching a show for much the same reason.

I don't know what to expect from this. Seems to me Kot is going for a SJW Bond story and I'm growing even more suspicious about how Bond will be depicted in this. If this one leaves me completely unsatisfied, I wouldn't want him to return for another... and it seems he already is coming back for another one after this.

That depends on your definition of SJW.
I do have my reservations, as this seems to be more of an introspective Bond tale instead of the usual formulaic adventure story, but if it is somewhat an extension of what Fleming would have thought of then i guess i could live with it.

I think he will keep Bonds character intact for all it's worth, but it will be a more brutal and 'dirty' type of story. There are barely any introspective Movies in this 24 Movie long franchise, and for good reason.

In general i don't mind if Dynamite switches it up, if it helps them sell more Books etc.
I just wish we had 2 series running at the same time like we used to in the distant past that i barely remember...

    @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7
I may not have been very clear so I apologise. I'm strictly speaking about the physical object; I do, however, patiently await the completion of a certain comic book run, if humanly possible, before I start reading. E.g. with the Bond comics, I know that a series is only a handful of issues and so I collect them, store them and read them once the final issue has been released.

With a very long run, like Marvel's Star Wars for example, I'm obviously not going to wait years and years, and so I keep reading, doing my very best to remember what happened before. Forgetfulness is most unlikely in my case, as my subscribed issues are dropped in the mail and so I process them as they come. Some end up in the "to read" boxes; others are read virtually immediately and then catalogued.

But the single issues are just "sexy" IMO. They're thin, flexible, you hold them like mini newspapers, they're often printed on different paper than the TP editions and I for one like the up-to-date stuff on other releases scattered throughout the comic. There's something about the bag-and-board "format" that immediately adds "value", as the books come with a kind of protection that seems too much for only twenty-something pages yet emphasises how sensitive collectors are about the whole thing. Furthermore, the books are "folded" rather than glued, and as such the pages don't come loose as they sometimes do in cheaper paperbacks. A single issue can be stretched open 180° which I dare not do with many TP's, because the covers could break and pages could fall out. If I read a TP, as with ordinary books, I tend to open them to only a 120° angle, just to leave the side of the book undamaged. A single issue never poses that problem. Lastly, it's psychological. I enjoy flipping final pages and digging out fresh books. Obviously, I get to do that a lot more often with a collection of single issues than with TP's. For example, I can easily read 20 single issues back-to-back, but I can rarely sit through more than 5 or 6 "chapters" at once in the TP or hardback format. :)

I have to admit, I like Bond disguising himself as a waiter (for the second time in Dynamite's run).

Another time he disguised himself unusually was in Minute to Midnight as a homeless old man.

Only time we saw Bond in the films adopting a disguise out of his comfort was when he impersonated Toro.

I like what i am seeing so far. The dialogue and humor is great, and the doctor could be a real scene stealer. Not to mention the art is gorgeous as ever from Casalanguida (even though sadly only for one issue)
    i am certainly intrigued.

Has anyone noticed anything odd with the 'Felix Leiter' collected ebook edition on Amazon UK? All the hardback collections were also released as Kindle versions, but when you go to the hardback of the Felix Leiter collection and go to choose the Kindle version, it takes you to the individual issue 1 only, which it Amazon appears to be treating like it is the full collected edition. I emailed Amazon and asked if it is a mistake and they wouldn't accept there was anything wrong, pointing me in the direction of the 6-issue series, which is just the individual issues bought in one transaction. What I want is the Kindle version of the hardback. The US Amazon site has it, it just seems to be the British site that is a bit wrong, despite Amazon refusing to accept anything is wrong.

I did notice a couple weeks ago how ridiculously cheap the hardcover collection was as the kindle version. That explains it then.

Maybe you could contact Dynamite Entertainment about it as they are the publisher.

I actually liked it, despite my rather inflated cautiousness of Ales Kot.

Then again, I loved Luca Casalanguida's art even more, and Valentina Pinto's colouring style is nothing short of brilliance. Her style reminded me of A Silent Armageddon.
