The name's 25. Bond 25, or rather, it's NTTD.

YOLT was retitled "James Bond i Japan" (James Bond in Japan) here in Norway. "007 in New York" reminds me a bit of that.

Or the horror slasher spinoff, James Bond: James Takes Manhattan.
  • Joking aside, the problem with this form of picking a title is that it isn’t how the most successful book or film titles come into being. The single word or group of words should be the key plot element, operation code name, main character, or other single word that fully captures the essence of that story.

Of the ones put forward so far, “The Property Of A Lady” sounds the least cheesy, but it would only work if the whole plot centres around something or someone who is the property of a lady and if that lady is the pivotal character to the movie.

Or maybe “Kiss of the Danger of Death’s Killing Licence of Vengeance in the Shadows”?

Always loved Raymond Benson's Zero Minus Ten. It's spy-like, urgent, and more importantly, there's so many ways you could incorporate '007' :))

Would've worked with a 2007, but they missed that chance eleven years ago. :))

personally they should always go back to Fleming himself for inspiration or start looking at good chapter titles from the Fleming Novels.

I naturally agree. Some chapter titles of interest:

A Whisper of Love, A Whisper of Hate
    Cards With a Stranger
    The Eye That Never Sleeps
    Bitter Champagne
    The Job Comes Second
    Death is So Permanent
    The Slaughterer
    The Beautiful Lure
    Black on Pink
    The Killing Bottle
    The Finger on the Trigger
    The Long Scream
    Reflections in a Double Bourbon
    The Pressure Room
    Crime de la Crime
    The Richest Man in History
    The Shadower
    The Gambit of Shame
    Fork Left For Hell
    Blood-lift
    Hell's Delight
    The Question Room
    Blood and Thunder

There's also "The Belles of Hell," which is not a chapter title but was considered for OHMSS.

Non-English titles to me seem like a natural for Bond. Here are three chapter titles from Casino Royale.

    ROUGE ET NOIR
    L'ENNEMI ÉCOUTE
    FRUIT DÉFENDU

The first is the standout. Even the third one has possibilities.

And of course I'm partial to the earlier suggestion of BIRDS OF THE WEST INDIES.

Hadn't seen this mentioned before, and was just thinking of this last night, TBH! Can't get any more rooted in Fleming than that.

Really the only ones viable would be RISICO and THE PROPERTY OF A LADY. According to John Glen Risico was planned as Bond 17 name at the time!
Any other chapter titles don't seem cinematic enough for me!

I always liked The Property of a Lady. I'm sure one day it will be used.

A Whisper of Love, A Whisper of Hate is beautiful, but isn't exactly the right title for a smashing blockbuster.

Here in Italy there were some Bond titles that were completely changed in the translation process. For example:

Dr. No ---> Licence to Kill
Diamonds Are Forever ---> A Waterfall of Diamonds
A View to a Kill ---> Moving Target
The Living Daylights ---> Danger Zone
Licence to Kill ---> Private Revenge

    Shame. XD

Wasn t that The Property Of A Lady? Or were they both in consideration, perhaps?

Glen only mentioned RISICO, think its in his book, TPOAL had already been mentioned in OP, so probably wasn't at the time!

Shatterhand is fine by me...much prefer it to SKYFALL, which I hated from when it was first leaked!

Just make sure to have someone that can pronounce "Shatterhand" if used in a theme song. Would be a shame if it sounded like "Shat her hand"…

Haha! Yeah, it will probably be one of those themes that doesn't use the films title though, so we probably won't have to worry about it!
