Waltz is an intelligent man, and I love his praise for Fleming.

The thing with Christoph Waltz is, that even he can't work wonders with material that's bad. Throw him into anything by Quentin Tarantino (who always writes/creates interesting dialogue and characters), and he's at his best.

You know what kind of role Waltz would have been perfect for in a Bond film? The supporting character who the viewer initially assumes to be a baddie but turns out to be one of the good guys. A Milos Columbo for the 21st century.

Anyway, 143 days until filming begins!

For once, I agree with you. But it's too late now.

But the truth is that SP will be nearly half a decade old when Bond 25 comes around.
When you put it that way it really hits home regarding the gap, which is the second longest since the franchise began.

They've been very tight lipped about everything this time too. I expect we're in store for at least one more surprise before 2020 rolls around.

Waltz is a fascinating and insightful guy. He makes some very revealing and academic insights into Bond's longevity and his decision to appear in Spectre (it's clear he's a fan of Bond and the phenomenon of the films). He arguably gives a better performance in this video than in SP......
It´s Kind of funny and frustrating at the same time that sometimes actors appear more interesting in interviews than in films. I recently watched a Clip of Nicolas Cage Talking About a number of movies he starred in, and he had such gravitas. And I found it relieving when I saw how relaxed and natural Jason Statham seemed in one interview compared to his films.

What an artist! He's used the likeness of some familiar actors in Asterix too!

I don’t expect much Bond 25 news until next year at this point, given that filming isn’t until March. Perhaps some casting or location rumors, but I’m thinking we won’t get any official news until at least January. It’d be nice to at least get the title before filming.
  • It’s official. David Arnold will score Bond 25. Wooohooo!!!

    We're well into October. Damn.
Had Boyle not crapped out, and things went ahead as planned, at this point we probably would have had some solid casting news. Probably location news as well. I expect by December those elements will fall into place.

I'd welcome an Arnold return. In fact I'd probably jump for joy! But I'm fairly certain we'll be getting someone new in the composer's chair.
