TWINE, in particular I have a hard time getting through in one sitting.

That's the one for me too. I used to really enjoy it, but now, aside form the black hole which is SP, I find it the most tedious Bond film to get through, by a good bit.

I think what I loved most about TWINE was Maria Grazia Cucinotta. Once she's out of the picture all goes downhill.
Actually, what it really is , for me is the entertainment value. I'm more entertained with even the lesser Connery and Moore films than the Pierce period.

We had Ken Adam and John Barry back then, which elevated something like DAF and MR substantially over many of the post Cubby films. We had Richard Maibaum and Christopher Wood over Purvis and Wade.
I actually feel this way about the Craig era to a degree also. I was thrilled we got one more full Fleming novel adaptation in Daniel's era.

"Based on the novel by Ian Fleming" in the main title sequence as Bond walks towards the camera was uplifting.

Haven’t done one of these in a while. Hell, I haven’t even watched a Bond picture, sans the Craig era, in nearly a year. This will be rather interesting when I compare the 2018 rankings with my post Bondathon rankings in 2019.

    Enough waffling.

Casino not doing much for me either. I like it, but when choosing films at random I rarely find myself picking it out of the shelf. The Moore and Connery films have high "rewatchability" and entertainment factor for me though. Much easier to get in the mood for the 60's, 70's and 80's films.

Absolutely, or a 90’s one for that matter. I have no problem admitting CR, QOS and SF are well made but the original timeline is just much more my cup of tea.

Me, too. I always have a hard time shoehorning the Craig's into my rankings in spite of how well one might be made. The Cubby produced films stand the test of time for me, and those that were among my least favorites have risen considerably in rank.

Definitely agree. The whole continuity thing and tone of the Craig era doesn't make me want to rewatch them often. I think there's an element missing in this era – fun.

If you know me, Leonardpine, you'd know I was never a fan of Brossa! No matter how much I may juggle around some of the other movies
His will remain at the bottom, and DAD always at the end, as I find it virtually unwatchable!
Never took to him as Bond, never thought he was right for the role, despite the hype (especially here in Ireland!), and still dont!
It was definitely good riddance for me when he was dumped by the Producers!

I must admit he doesn't always convince as Bond for me. The more i see GE the weaker and more unconvincing he seems as Bond in that film.

I think he's good in his other Bond films, even though they're of varying quality.

I'll have a revised ranking by February 2020, but for now I know Spectre is at the bottom. Plays and sounds like a typical mainstream procedural tv show. A shell of a Bond film (the Bond elements are there but are terribly undeveloped, butchered, shoehorned or some combination of these)

Thanks @w2bond. Looking forward to seeing how things have changed. I'll be sure to get in another ranking done before then. I uncharacteristically dropped TB a few notches with my last list, and feel this error must be corrected before you do your summary.

@bondjames Because I don't know how long you'll be waiting, here's my preliminary list:

Top 6 won't change, unless Dr No breaks the magical barrier. The top 6 are interchangeable, depending on my mood

I'm doing this Bondathon in reverse tier order. Random order within tiers. I've watched Thunderball and Quantum of Solace currently. Next movie is Skyfall, one I don't look forward to watching, therefore the huge delay. It will be easier once I reach 12 and above.
