I rank QOS above SF, though I like them both.

I would even go as far as putting QOS above every other of the Craig entries. I consider it also to be his best Bond performance.

    I usually go:

    Spectre
    Quantum of Solace
    Casino Royale
    Skyfall

Spectre isn't without issues (some major), same with Quantum, but...I feel like giving them credit for trying.

SP above all of them? That IS controversial.

I can't believe how many posts have been from/about dopey people who can't understand a simple joke.

(Vesper tries to shut down Bond with an invented claim about religion. Bond doesn't appreciate it. If you can't follow this, maybe stop watching movies.)

Let it just be noted for the record yet again that for me, the towering and majestic (© by someone else) SKYFALL remains the best James Bond movie since the unconquerable FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE: Therefore, other movies starring Daniel Craig need not apply (not even the rather sublime CR, but definitely not the other two), and neither do any movies by the other Bond actors, least of all the two final Brosnan attempts. If every future Bond movie were sure to have the quality of SKYFALL, count me in as a permanent fan forever (while I'm still able).

Switch SP and CR and we have the same list, only there's a massive division between CR/QoS and SF/SP for me, night and day differences.

What is it about CR that you don't prefer? Is it simply that you love the other Craig installments much more, or do you not care for CR whatsoever?

I can get behind the Quantum as the best movement, honestly. I rank it and Spectre closely. There's plenty wrong with them, but the things that are wrong annoy me less than the "l33t 'puter hax0r" plot of Skyfall, or the stuck-in-2006 plot of Casino Royale.

    Document details:

    Agent 007

You will find two passports enclosed in your and Miss Lynd’s new identities.

You are to assume the identity of Mr Arlington Beech and Miss Lynd is to assume the identity
of Miss Stephanie Broadchest. Mr Arlington Beech and Miss Stephanie Broadchest are
    currently dating.

Mr Arlington Beech is a wealthy partner of the company Universal Exports and is an independ-
ent gambler. He has been gambling in high stake games for the past five years.

Miss Stephanie Broadchest is the wealthy daughter of the Investment Banker Mr Henry
    Broadchest.

Under no circumstances should you reveal your true identity.

    M

Don't know where you hit that from but: 1)full content is not explicitly made available to the audience in the movie and 2)Vesper mentioning a Catholic family is referring to her cover, not herself (since she herself is an orphan).
I have an accurate replica of the document, it's no problem to share the details. You're welcome.

I'm simply clarifying that religion was not part of the official cover, as given by M.
    Thanks for confirming that, Q.

It's a wonder what was plain obvious a mere decade ago is simply questioned by the minds of today.

    How was it plain obvious?

Beside there's still no mention of Vesper herself being Catholic. Or her deceased parents.
Occam's razor. Plain obvious to get to that.

Except her parents are dead. Even if they were strict Catholics they'd be dead one so no reason to appease them.

Catholics always try to appease the dead.

    Not all of us.

They were discussing the religion part @barryt007 , not the dating married women part...

By all means, let's continue debating this.

Hopefully someone can ask EON to settle the matter during the press conference.

    LOL.

Bond 25 is Meet the Lynds.

They're out for revenge, against Bond or "the organization" or Quantum or Spectre or Eon (for denying them a grandchild in QoS). Which would, strangely, be more believable than the plot of SP.

Here's my controversial opinion (well, one of many).
I do LOVE the SPECTRE soundtrack. Very much. Particularly the Madeleine piano cues and the Turkish flutes. I know John Barry and David Arnold are the masters of the Bond music, but Newman does create the melancholy mood here.

And... I also love Serra's GoldenEye soundtrack, of course.

That is a pretty good track. I love the GE score too.

Oh I like Casino, it's mostly a case of just preferring the others. I suppose though that I agree with the rare critics of the film that there isn't much Bondian about it whether we're talking the other films or Fleming's books. I also find most of what follows the torture sequence to be of significantly less quality than the first two thirds or so.

But it's right in the middle of my rankings.

Controversial opinion: Blofeld in SP is the very first double and is insane/delusional. The real Blofeld is much more menacing and has no actual personal connection to Bond. ;)

Well he wound have to atleast be the real Oberhauser as Bond recognizes him as such.

I don't do Bond actor rankings. Don't have a favourite. Don't have a least favourite. They each offer something worthwhile.

That's how I view James Bond in general. Even the low points have their great points and I can enjoy the books, movies, comic books and video games as what they are: cheap entertainment that I enjoy talking about. That's my controversial opinion.

I almost entirely agree. Whenever people ask me who my favorite Bond is, I don’t have an answer. That’s because they all could be (except Lazenby). I could make an argument for each one of them being the best. So I just prefer not to rank them.
