I just love the first footage of bond 25
    1. it adds horror elements that the spectre teaser well teased but failed to deliver
    2. curious to see how the rest of the sequence and film plays out
    3. perhaps Masks will be utilized more in this film a first I believe for Bond as we never had a henchmen or villain really be into masks

    Overall soo happy

I’m sure whatever the scene is, it’ll play out better than most of the suggestions on here.

I truly struggle with the news that this is supposed to be a young Swann. Mainly as I was really done with that character.....

If this is Swann. I can guarantee that Lea Seydoux will play a significant role in the film. Which probably explains why we haven’t heard about any other female casting (aside Lupita). She’s the lead again.

I agree, Lea is back for a major part in Bond 25.
I do think, from the set photos, we are seeing a Young Swann in a pre-title sequence set 20 or so years in the past - the style and colouring of the girls' jacket supports this - and that sequence will segue to the present where we find the adult Maddy Swann living with Bond -- but the past is about to catch up with her. That would help remind the wider audience who the character is and set in motion events which will drive Bond back to Mi6. Just speculating though.

i hope not bbecause if that opens the film i bet theres no gun barrel

Well, that's up in the air I guess. I do think, because Bond is out of Mi6, the gun barrel may seem wrong -- but Cary is clever, he may know how to plant the GB or re-work it to suit such an opening.

Potential for an interesting Casino Royale callback if...
...the PTS ended with the gunbarrel as Bond becomes "Bond" again, heading back to MI6 -- and then graphically transitions right into the main title sequence.

thats a very good idea and would be cool, but i still prefer gun barrels opening the film with the circles across the screen. However, everyone is assuming daniel craig isnt working for mi6 just becuase he threw is gun and went off with madaline. doesnt mean he quit. He could be just on holiday, on his honeymoon or something

It's well established that Bond sleeps with a gun under his pillow (at least in the old continuity) so Bond throwing it away for Madeleine in SP is very significant beyond a mere holiday.

Some of us here think it is NOT a flashback
If it's not a flashback, how does it tie in, into the next scene? A text merely saying "15 years later"? Then what follows, in order for the Norway-scenes to have any meaning?

With a flashback they can just do a transition into the eyes of adult Swann, with Bond sitting behind her, or something.

on masks - earlier drafts of Spectre had the attendees of the Rome meeting all wearing them...

Makes me wonder if they'll also reuse the jettisoned Foreign Legion idea (White and Blofeld serving together)

There are many, many ways to make a transition from past to present. It all depends on the dramatic content and the story/character links between the past and the present. But I'm betting that's what we are going to see.

    @ColonelSun

I know, but I was looking for someone to suggest what happens, if it's not. Could the next scene following be her
marrying Bond in Italy, at a beach, as some italian newspapers reported?

And then there's this old article:
"A source told the column: 'Bond quits the secret service, and he's in love and gets married.' The insider added Bond will return to the secret service after his wife is killed.'

If the gun barrel doesnt open the film i will be very upset, regardless to how great film end up. Thats how much it means to me and other bond fans. It's a thrilling moment and special when you go see a bond movie, its what makes you realise your here for a 007 movie, not a generic action flick. But im sure it will return if it did in spectre.

Yes I understand the gun barrel could still take place, but i dont see how it would fit in well if its a flashback without bond appearing. The fact that this sequence is a flashback is bothersome to me anyway. dont think flashbacks fit well for bond films.

The gunbarrel isn't really supposed to be connected to the PTS. LALD didn't feature Bond in the PTS, but he still had a gunbarrel.

I think we are all in the dark until we glimpse more as filming advances, but if I was to guess…
I think we will find Bond and Swann living together (in Italy - and a couple of years after the events of SP?), but not married yet, and their peace is shattered by the return (for reasons to be later uncovered) of the Mr. White's enemies - perhaps the masked men again - which leads to a pre-title action sequence with Bond battling to protect Swann, an event which forces him to return to Mi6 - perhaps because the bad guys kidnap Maddy? The opening scene/seq., taking place in the past, helps re-establish Maddy Swann and her story and set's up the rest of the pre-title sequence which is set 20 or so years later in the present.

The masked killer must be a member of SPECTRE or QUANTUM.

But it does look like the insider was right, doesn't it?
At least if the reports coming from Matera are also right about the wedding taking place there.

    Great video leak!
I can also see the film opening 'in the past' like Goldeneye did, then after the credit sequence we are back 25 years later, or something!
Also, I'm not sure it may have been buried, but MI6 HQ reported that Thomas Newman is out as composer as he is working with Mendes on his next film.

It’s safe to say Newman is out, but not because MI6-HQ reported this. Remember, just weeks before the Bond 24 presser and the announcement of Newman’s return back in late 2014, @JamesPage was adamant that Newman would not return because he and EON did not have a good relationship when they were making Skyfall.

Yeah, it’s pretty clear that Newman is a Mendes guy and now that Fukunaga is directing, they’ll head in a different direction for music.

The mask resembles a Japanese Noh (musical drama) mask, albeit a female one. Perhaps we'll see some of Japan, or even some YOLT content?

Curiously enough, as @TR007 pointed out earlier, there is a japanese henchman in the Bond Comic "Black Box" that came out 2 years ago, called "No-Face" who is wearing such masks, modeled after the faces of his victims. But i'm sure it's just a coincidence.

I'd like to share my interview with Jeff Kleeman, UA's former VP. I asked him about Bond 25's delays and how a change of date can impact on the release of a film. He gave me very interesting answers: http://secretagentlair.blogspot.com/2019/03/interview-jeff-kleeman-former-united.html

Plus, he said GE64's success was vital for every other Bond film after 1997.

Absolutely fantastic interview @NS_writings. Interesting to see how much he credits GE on the Nintendo 64 for the success of the following Bond films. We need that kind of attitude toward gaming in the current EON administration.

Thank you all for the appreciation of my interview. I also think they shouldn't abandon Bond games to hook younger generations, because I was one of those. I played a great game, then I saw a great film, then I was hooked into Bond!

I think he also gave us a very interesting POV on the Bond 25 date thing. It's comforting that he explained us that GoldenEye also got delayed from June to November due to production starting later than planned, and how getting TND pushed to February or April would have given the film more numbers.

RE: Bond 25 shooting - I'm absolutely excited! Finally, a villain that can inspire real fear in the Craig era. We needed that for a while. None of the Craig villains/henchmen were really frightening or intimidating to me. Perhaps Mr. Hinx, a little.

Alright so we see a guy in the PTS with a mask obscuring his face. Also a clear continuation of SPECTRE as well as a return to Bond staples in the swan song of a long time Bond. Just connecting the dots then and it's easy to see, that we're observing
Blofeld shortly after the face surgery, that turns him from Waltz to Malek. I bet he then plans to destroy the world with a sparkling space-bound laser.

    Movie title:
    Another Diamond Day
