However, I’d be up for him being a ruthless ex-member who in the intervening years has formed a new organisation, built from the ashes of the old Spectre - gives us a fresh threat, while maintaining a connective thread.
When was Scotland rumored?
Not sure I love retreading ground already covered in Skyfall, and so soon. The Scotland scenes in that movie were the best part.
I think the potentially interesting thing would be how Blofeld would react to being left to rot in prison and any power he clings onto is being drained away by Malek and the new Spectre. In a way Blofeld - with half his face burned away, his single eye bulging with hatred toward Bond - could become quite a tragic and broken figure.
Only 2 seconds of what you see is the actual St. Petersburg.
The Brosnan era's "location dubbing" was ten times worse than DC's.
Just check this out:

Worth noting, however unrelated, that the Langham is an absolutely wonderful hotel to this day. One of my personal favourites.
That would be a neat concept to work with. A conflict between two villains, and Bond caught in the middle.
I don't think Babs and especially (lawyer) MGW fought McClory all those decades to buy back the rights to Blofeld...and then never to use the character again.
Logan made this mistake, killing Blofeld in his script. If FRWL-DAF meant anything, it's this: they. just. won't. kill. Blofeld. Exception: FYEO, when they thought the rights were forever gone. It's wishful fan thinking to get rid of Blofeld.
The unused TSWLM opening, where the next generation of "young turks" came in and assassinated Blofeld, I could see working in B25. But even in that scenario, I'd think they'd show an inkling of life left in Blofeld.
If they were to kill Blofeld--they won't--they'll end the timeline and bring him back in a reboot.
Blofeld ... I don't care to think too far along lines of speculation; I do want to be fresh for the story when I see it in the theater. But with Spectre ending like it did, I think of course they have to have him in it to tie it off - whether that means bulk of more Blofeld is for left for Bond 26 and the new Bond actor to grapple with, or not. EON has rights to the character, a main villain in the Bond canon, and they will use Blofeld. Personally, I'd like only a little in this one. There are many possible ways to do so. Same for Madeline - many possible ways to use her in this particular story. I'm not concerned.
Love the photos. It does have a relaxed, classic Bond feel, what I'm seeing.
I see A LOT of people saying that’s the same yacht from Casino Royale. It is NOT. Bond isn’t wealthy enough to purchase a yacht is he?
Didn’t someone find out his Bond character was bringing in $60,000 a year? Something a long those lines?
I figure if he retires he gets some money from that also but you gotta be a millionaire to even own a yacht don’t you?
Rami Malek theory...
“Before Blofeld was captured he was involved with a man named blah blah.. He was someone who came under our radar but we didn’t think he was a threat. “
Breaks Blofeld out. Uses him to kidnap Madeline and lure Bond to their lair. Malek shoots Blofeld in the head. Boom.
That would make Malek really terrifying. He played a terrorist in 24. Honestly wasn’t super convinced at first but he has come a long way. I think he can definitely be terrifying and menancing..
He is about 5’7 and 135 pounds. Greene wasn’t close to the terrifying creepy Mads or Silva but him and Blofeld were good villains. Definitely creepy enough to be believable that they are running a criminal organization..
Hopefully Malek can pull this off. I think 90% of the film relies on if Malek can pull the villain role off and how good the writing is.
I am not worried about anyone else but Malek. If Malek delivers a crappy performance expect a crappy movie.
I think it would be hilarious and awesome if Malek just shot him in the head. Like it was nothing.
Keep in mind for over 10 years Blofeld was responsible for everything.. Malek just breaks him out and kills him like he’s an average guy.
That would really elevate his villainy.
Mendes had a penchant for villains who had a “kooky “ side; while Silva was , just barely, able to overcome this, Blofeld was completely undermined by that trait.
This time around I want an adversary who’s intimidating, deadly , elegant and all business.
Was this in the books?
I trust CJF and think that he can work this very well.
Mabey Rami Malek play a three side person villian (mabey even four), then mabey it be easier to accepted Bond is a three side of person too. From studio that brought you Split, The Bourne Identity and Mission Impossible: Fall Out.
Her name is Vesper. The bullet in Bond. Time to get it out.
I can see the complaining already. Waltz portrayal of Blofeld was dull and all, almost everyone agrees. Even he himself.
I LIKE TEH BOND 25. BUT WHERE WAS DA ERNST IN DIS MOVIE? DA MALEK NOT OLDE ENOUGH.
What , are you Slavoj Zizek ?
