It makes sense, DC is in rough shape and Gunn proved with Guardians that he can make gold out of nothing. And this opens the door for DC to do some “no way home” shenanigans and bring Cavill in for one. Maybe through Flashpoint Paradox (could bring Affleck, or Bale, or anyone back for Thomas Wayne too).
I think he'd be an uninspired pick for Bond, to say the least. I don't care if a lot of women like him because he looks like a super model. Bond is more than that. At least to me.
I also think Goode would have also been a good Bond.
I hope not. He's wooden..Decent Superman but nowhere near calibre of Reeve Or Routh imo. Certainly not right for Bond.
Public spectacle? Far from it, he released a single, gracious statement. No matter what anyone thinks of him on screen, he’s handled this with class.
FIRST of all - get the lady another box and give those chocolates to keep the shark at bay !
SECONDLY - do ANY of these younguns generate the interest of Idris Elba ? Not because of the color of his skin, but his presence, height, size, credibility in a fight, etc. If Elba is too for portraying Bond in a few films, who is out there as credible, with the "it" factor going strong ? Anyone who suggests worry-face Richard Madden should please recall the sad comparison that his own character voiced in The Take - a story of a boy and a man. Anyone who suggests Nicholas Hoult should note his toothiness is in the deal, too, and work in some parts, but others ? Does Adrian Turner bring it as strongly as Elba ? Apparently, for some, yes. As for me, I think I'm back to Tom Hilddleston. Tall, built, interesting face. As for his receding hairline, it worked out fine for Connery. You note wisely that no one looks like Hoagy Carmichael other than the man himself. So the point remains - someone with a face with character to go with the height and the build, the movement and the look of genuine ability to win in a fight with a large, strong person as the opponent.
Man of Steel didn't really do it for me, and I'd liked to have seen what Cavill could done with it in a different film, but never mind.
He quit the Witcher in the middle of season 3 to go be superman, which he announced he was returning, only to now have to announce actually he isn't returning. The guy is a joke in the industry.
And you are clueless.
No he’s not.
I’m on record as not being the biggest, or any kind of Cavill fan, but your statement is just false. No one in the industry thinks Cavill is a loser, and most know pretty much what happened to him.
You have posted this person's image multiple times in this thread, without revealing who it is @ByRoyalDecree
Who is it? And why do you repeatedly post their photo's?
Then what happened "to" him? Guy is making his own decisions. He hasn't been Superman in years. He never had a new contract. If anything truly happened with him, if they truly gave him a verbal promise to return as superman and that's why he quit Witcher, he would be suing. His cameo in Black Adam was last minute and not a contract for more. He got played, a little, but there are years of reports of him being hard to work with. And I didn't call him a loser.
Use your words. I thought we were moderating against this type of response.
It’s an objective observation based on what is actually known of Cavill’s character and how he he conducts himself on set. My point is that you are misinformed.
Just curious, out of all the candidates talked about here, which ones do you find the most and least handsome?
Fair. I always find it interesting hearing your thoughts by the way, even if I have something to add or don't agree necessarily.
Ah, it's Hughe's turn to make another appearance. He's a favourite candidate of mine. He was great in The Game where he played an MI5 agent. Reminded me a lot of Dalton's Bond at times in that. I think he'd be interesting.
I think you’re trolling— pls cite sources of Cavill being difficult to work with.
Please don't label me a troll for arguing a counterpoint. I'd rather drop the point than have you all turn against me for nothing. Some of you can grow up and stop acting like you own the place.
Makes it difficult to return to the site. I know Peter is supposed to be a great valued member but he's only ever been combative and accusatory toward me.
Then he refused to GET PAID to do a cameo in Shazam, where they got a body double instead, which is him literally giving up the screen rights to the character of Superman willingly. To suddenly play victim that something he owned was taken from him is just objectively unfair to the reality of his decisions. His Black Adam cameo was a desperate attempt by him to hold onto a character he'd given up, and desperate by Warner Bros. to get butts in seats for a bomb of a movie.
And then he walks away from Netflix and the wticher, where he was potentially set up for a Sherlock Holmes movie or series as well, burning that bridge to only get nothing in return. That's what I mean by hard to work with. He's only in business for himself, and I wouldn't trust him not to walk away from Bond, or not give it his all, or make demands once the first one is a hit. He just reads like a hard sell to me. He may be nice one-on-one but I don't want to do business with him, and that's ultimately what we're discussing with Bond.
Or maybe I should say, I’m going to keep my mouth shut.
Same! Have no interest in cavill that way at all.
OK.
