    Don't know if it has been mentioned already, but Henry Cavill will now be starring in The Witch series for Netflix.

    Think someone mentioned it on a different thread. Netflix shows get a lot of attention these days, so it could be a smart move for him to sign on a project like this.

    The standards have obviously slipped on the height front of late, to my disappointment. I'd rather they not have to continue resorting to camera tricks, angles and shorter co-stars in order to accommodate a lead. So Hardy would be a bit low down on my list of replacements. Plus he just reminds me too much of Craig in the physique department.

    It's funny you ask, yes he did appear too small as Bane. He may have beefed up and wore shoes with built up soles but when onscreen with Bale he was not as imposing as he should have been.

    He's been mentioned before a few years back. There was a member (who no longer posts here) who was particularly in favour of him. He's a good actor and can be credible. My issue is whether he projects sufficient likability on screen to be a box office draw globally, and particularly with the fairer sex. I don't know the answer to that question, but it's an important one given the popularity of these films these days.

    If he played the role well, I wouldn't mind him as Bond - he's the right age currently (36) and when he seems engaged and interested enough in the project, he can act (stuff like Hitman is a different story entirely).

    Sure, I could go for it - better than other names mentioned over the years, that's for sure.

    I stopped watching Homeland after four seasons, but it sure wasn't because of Peter Quinn, the character he played. Friend was one of the highlights of that TV series for me.

    @Torgeirtrap, I burned through Homeland several months back and Quinn is one of my favorite characters for sure - if there's something to sell someone on him playing Bond, that role would work.

    Indeed! I think he had some really nice fight/suspense (in lack of a better word) scenes in Homeland, so he could no doubt manage that aspect of the role easily.

    I don't want Tom Hardy for the next Bond. He's a pussycat. I want someone who truly, truly conveys the fact Bond is a hard-edged killer, someone who can display Bond's inner emotional turmoil over the deaths of the women he loved, and over his working in a profession in which he might not live to see the next day; a nervewracking profession which induces him to drink and pop pills. I think I know just the guy...

    My biggest concern about Hardy is his tattoos .

    Would they airbrush over those in every scene he wears a short sleeved shirt,t-shirt or is topless ?
