    The Death of Superman

    Brilliant animated film.

Great call back in this scene.

The Justice League fight and fight between Supes and Doomsday is insane.

Great movie one of the best Superman films.

Diana 'Take him down Clark don't hold back , or he will kill everyone'

    Rephrase your point more eloquently.

    Good luck with that request.

Just today watched Man Of Steel for the first time since it came out. For some reason I felt like giving it a second chance. Yes, I did enjoy it more this time, but no, I'm still not a fan. Too drab, the film almost looks like it was in B&W. Too much death of civilians. Pa Kent being a doof was not cool. And back to work at the end as if Metropolis isn't going to need a decade of re-building not to mention months up front just to clear the streets of rubble & bodies...the actors were all great, the CGI was splendid, the action was furious. It was the writing.

I am a fan of it but I'd say those criticisms are fair, especially when it comes to Pa Kent. I like the idea of a more cynical and protective version of the character - especially as the film fully commits to similar ideas across the board - but that still doesn't excuse the way his death was handled. If there was ever a perfect scenario to use your powers to save someone and for it to not be noticed, a damn tornado was it. A conceptual misstep. Unfortunate too, as Costner was great casting.

Yes, I feel that WB (and Zack Snyder and his team also deserve some blame) really messed up what should have been a stronger emotional moment. Doomsday also deserved a better treatment. Doomsday is the one villain I'd expect Zack Snyder not to screw up.

I agree with you as well. It is a generally well cast movie. The writing needed another rewrite, I agree. I also DON'T agree with David S. Goyer that the only villain(s) that they could have used were Zod and the Kryptonians. Brainiac could have easily been used. Michael Shannon still could have played him. It is strange how many filmmakers have wanted to use Brainiac as a villain in a Superman movie, but it would get cancelled. Big examples: Superman vs Superman, Superman Lives, Superman Returns 2, and lately, Man of Steel 2. It's like people want to use him, but he's as cursed as Superman is.

    Christopher Reeve greatest Superman.

It truly is greatness. People say Marlon Brando was phoning it in as Jor-El. These and other scenes in the Fortress of Solitude prove otherwise. When I visited the Superman Museum in Metropolis, Illinois in the summer of 2023, the Christopher Reeve was the true goldmine of the place. As @peter will tell you, when I was there, I was a kid on Christmas.

@MaxCasino I do like Snyders films though they could have been so much more with better writers, they admittedly tried to put way too much important Superman lore into the final act of BVS.

I agree, about too much (important, at least) Superman lore into BVS.
