Not that much of a difference...
An American director will not be able to grasp the subtlety and nuance of English culture.
That was brutal. I like it!
Totally agree. Campbell is a journeyman hack of moderate talents. CR is his best Bond by far. I’d say John Glen was a better Bond director on the basis of weighted averages.
Arnold is also not brilliant but having said that I preferred his CR and QOS efforts over Newman.
However, both the Prestige snap and the Craig gif could equally apply out of context. The Prestige photo is clearly indicating something special is coming and the Craig photo could just be Kroll thinking he’s smug and cool (mimicking Craig in the photo). He also posted a photo of a dapper Ryan Gosling…..
Personally, I don’t think it’s a Bond announcement. Kroll is trolling the other big entertainment journalists over having the scoop. He even put a poll out asking who’ll be more annoyed by the news today, “fanboys” or the other journalists for loosing the scoop.
As much as we love Bond, it’s not really something entertainment journalists are falling over themselves for stories. Furthermore, Bond fans aren’t known for being ravenous internet trolls (“fanboys”). Most are a little more discerning, older and (dare I say it) conservative.
If you ask me, this scoop is Marvel/DC/Star Wars related. Still interesting from a film fan perspective, but not 007 related.

He was there for 'Blade Runner 2049', but judging from this selfie, he too looks really puffy in the face, like DC.

A funeral home could use a man with his skills.
I suggest holding off for a few weeks at least. Let's hope they know what they're doing over there from a media relations standpoint this time.

Now now, don't tease me like this.
Christian Bale as Bond villain, perhaps?
Looks like Doctor Smith from Lost In Space!
"Oh the pain, the pain!"
When he appeared on late night TV and announced his return as Bond he looked fine.
As far as the “work” done, between now and production the Botox and fillers will fade, he will get in the gym and the Bond makeup people will have him ready.
Let’s take a step back and relax.
At the end of the day he's never really been about looks (at least imho), so as long as he brings his 'A' game for B25 (and he'd better dig deep given all the time that's been wasted here) we should be fine.
It's not even confirmed, so time will tell. Figured if there was one it would've dropped by now.
It'll probably break around noon-ish L.A. time which would be late in the evening here.
I'm home from work now and eagerly waiting by my laptop...
I’d agree with this take if the role was in more of the film
This is also my pitch I have not heard any actors for this pic yet
Some1 made this pitch a couple weeks ago [..]

Wait till Tuesday...
Big news coming Tuesday...let you four sweat
ITSWB.... It's Warner Bros. :D Just thought I'd post this, if, you know, I get it right.
Barely any of the directors have done much outside of Bond. Campbell is probably one of the better ones in that respect, even if his other blockbusters haven't always done very well. He's made a critically acclaimed TV series before Bond and has done a couple of big movies since. I thought The Foreigner was very good as well. I think as far as non Bond careers go for the directors, he's one of the more successful ones.
At the end of the day, he's 2 for 2 at making great Bond films. He successfully relaunched/rebooted the series twice and both of his films are always mentioned as two of the very best. That's good enough for me.
Glen is my favourite Bond director but his films didn't have anywhere near the same impact Campbell's did. Once you could say was a fluke, maybe he got lucky, but twice? The man is talented and knows his way around a Bond film, end of (imo).
Similar situation with Arnold I think. No he hasn't been extremely successful outside of Bond, but I don't care. I'd rather someone like him, who might not be the biggest name but clearly loves and understands the template Barry set, than another Newman.
If it is WB then chances are Nolan is directing.
