    # The Third Man (1949)

    # Ice Cold In Alex (1957)

    # Superman II (1980)

    # The Beach (2000)

    all very good titles that are always a few good hours spent

    @Baltimore_007, ahh, I love 'The Beach.' Such an underrated, highly unique movie. I haven't seen it in years.

    I watched it again on my current Bondathon. There are literally <30 seconds of the film I had any issue with whatsoever.

    @StirredNotShaken, I know how you feel. Definitely in my top three Bond films. What are those less than thirty seconds you have an issue with?

    Mathis expositing during the poker game.

    That's it. And the Mathis thing is a VERY minor gripe.

    Yes I had a problem with Mathis explaining to the audience how poker works. Found it quite patronising. My other gripe would be the defibrillator sequence.

    I liked the poisoning sequence. It was really well-filmed and I've always considered Vesper saving Bond to be necessary in order for him falling in love with her to be believable.

    Oh the poisoning sequence is great. I don't have a problem with that. Love how it's shot when he stumbles into the toilet.

    No but I like the defib sequence as well. I mentioned when Bhattacharjee sadly disappeared that the role he played in that scene was very memorable despite its insignificance.

    It seemed to be to be a sequence that was included to break up all the "card playing stuff". Felt a bit like decision by committee:

    "Right then, we need some action here. There's too much poker. Any ideas? I know lets have Bond poisoned, then his heart stops. But don't worry cos he'll have antidote and a defibrillator in the glove box"

    It's a gadget that was written in and serves no other purpose but for that scene

    @WillyGalore, and THOSE are the gadgets that I hate. Those gadgets that can only be used in a very unique situation. I also love how Vesper runs up and knows exactly how to fix the defibrillator and save Bond.

    I couldn't agree with you more. It's the worst moment in the film (other than the "thank you for plugging our nice brand of watch").

    I love John Ford westerns and Alfred Hitchcock films, so they take up most of the five..

    For some reason, I got through around five to ten minutes of 'Traffic' and then stopped. I'm not sure if it was out of a lack of interest or something else, but I need to get back to it and give it another shot.
