    Hmm...the section at sea maybe is a bit slow but otherwise its fin-tastic :p

    What about Duel? Spielberg's breakthrough film.

    'Jaws' is boring? You're fired, @Thunderfinger. That movie is pure horror to me, never fails to keep me intrigued and nervous.

    The one thing I love about Jaws is the Shark Theme. I do remember people were afraid to go swimming after that film came out. And there aren t that many sharks around here, either.

    Duel is pure class all round. Such a simple premise but so brilliantly executed.

    I also like the pseudo remake, Joy Ride, with Paul Walker. Different, but also quite well done.

    What makes Jaws brilliant is the characters and the setting. The film was almost entirely shot on location at Martha's Vineyard, and Speilberg took a huge gamble insisting it be shot in the ocean and not some tank at Universal. It was delayed, went over-budget, and looked like it would be a bomb. They were revising the script while shooting. And yet Spielberg pulled the thing together and made a masterpiece. It's an unbelievable.

    Spielberg was unable to duplicate the same "human touch" with Jurassic Park.

    This. The shifting dynamics between Brody, Quint and Hooper are superb. It's a character study masquerading as block-buster cinema. You can keep your Force Awakens', Your Avengers' and your Jurassic Worlds - this blows them all away.

    I love Jaws. Duel is great as well, but Jaws added more depth with the characters. Both are great thrillers and extremely re-watchable for me.

    1)The French Connection
    2) The Day of the Jackal
    3 )Where Eagles Dare
    4 )Get Carter
    And I'm a big fan of Director Walter Hill, so I have to pick one of his. Very difficult, but i'll go for his debut
    5 ) Hard Times
    Oh, and I would definitely put Jaws in my top ten!

    This is very difficult to do (narrowing it down to 5, that is). I'm a thriller guy primarily with a bit of action orientation so that's what gets my vote.

    1. North By Northwest
    2. From Russia With Love
    3. The Dark Knight
    4. Die Hard
    5. Terminator 2

    Honourable mentions to: To Catch A Thief, A Few Good Men, Casino Royale, all 3 Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, Alien and a few more.

    chrisisall, that is the problem with top 5. Mine would change every time probably.

    Here's another 5 I can say easily:

    Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid

    Singing In The Rain
    Charade (happy now?) I love ALL of Audrey's films
    The Quiet Man
    (gamut of emotions with those 5 ...) ;)

    Bond film: TWINE and GE
    Action (Non-Bond): The November Man
    Comedy: Drop Dead Gorgeous
    Romance/Drama: I Do (But I Don't)
    Horror: Valentine (2001)
    3D animated film: Shrek 2 or Ice Age 1
    2D animated film: The Last Unicorn (1982)
    Fantasy (Non-Harry Potter) : Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
    Sci-Fi (Non-Star Wars) : Starship Troopers (1997)
