  • We don't get much at all from this. It's okay, I guess. The only thing I really liked was the music they chose to play over the chaos. The Bond line is just so random and ruins the ending for me a bit.

    Random?

Looks like Bruce is playing it fun again, not all serious ala LFODH. That last line was classic Moonlighting/Die Hard (1) Bruce delivery. Haven't seen him do that in a while.

"The 007 of Plainfield New Yersey" is the perfect summation of the Die Hard series. He gets into crazy situations and adventures, but is just a normal guy.

Plus, they know there is Bond hype right now. What a fun, tongue-in-cheek way to grab onto that.
  • Yeah I liked the Bond reference, and it's true too.

All the Die Hard films are hilarious!

True. But it LFODH (which I really like unlike some), Bruce delivered all his lines in that low, ultra serious, Bruce Willis Action Star voice (except when he was shouting).

    This was whimsical McClane.

It looks like Die Hard but I'd like to see more before judging. It is great to have this classic action hero back though. What a treat this should be early next year.

Very lovely teaser indeed. Great introduction of Brucie!

Harking back to the first one with the Beethoven music gives me an ambiguous feel, but I tend to the positive.

On repeated watching this makes me really look forward to it. This could be the most inspired sequel of the franchise yet.

I like that one. It reflects John's aging and tendency for getting into rough patches time and time again.

    Dr. Hard?

Nah, sounds too much like a porno.

Do be careful, or we'll have Buttons back with more mischief...

Only to say, I think there has been too many Die Hards now. They should of quit in 1995 with the excellent 'Vengeance' release, that would of been a great way to end the series, but after another twelve years they gave us another, and lo and behold we now await a fifth release. I merely think there's been too many now, and Willis is far too old to be back in character as McClane anymore

Even Lethal Weapon had the good sense to stop at four and even that was one too many. Die Hard is slowly becoming Police Academy now, but not quite so silly

I'd rather have a bad sequel than a bad reboot. Die Hard is a classic. I don't want to see it rebooted, It's a perfect film. It's Sequels have been iffy but they have always had some sort of entertainment. :)

@Murdock, that's how I feel. A sequel can be trumped by the one to follow it, but when a reboot is trash, it's hard to go from there.

Now, if a new film comes out that is terrible, with plans to reboot it, it's hard to be any worse, ala 'Fantastic Four.'
  • Maybe we don't need to discuss the participant Mr Creasy but last I looked his account was still active and then we have Mr Dressed to Kill. (Old dog with new tricks)

Unless something occured in the last 24 hours I was unaware of

Once again, and back on topic, My favorite Die Hard was the second at Dulles International Airport, that was immense, and what a finale on the snow covered runway..

I don't understand what all the furore is about sometimes regarding the original in 1988 as the best, I always found it rather ordinary
