An actor sadly gone now that I would have liked to see play a Bond Villain was Michael Parks.

Other than him I still would offer a Bond villain role to British actor Gareth Marks, Jason Issacs, & Danish actor Stellan Skarsgard.

I miss the days when the villain was almost always significantly older than Bond. Christpher Plummer? Stellan Skarsgard.

Plummer would be a great addition, terrific actor imo.

Sorry @Denbigh I may be in the minority here, he could be a decent actor from what I have seen but I don't want him anywhere near bond film. Just my opinion :)
A respectable opinion, but I think he could do a fine job with a villain role :)

...and I'm kinda glad it hasn't been like that, for the sake of variety...

    Stellan Skarsgard? Yes, please.

Stellan isn't the only Skarsgård that could make a great Bond villain; Alexander Skarsgård could also make a great Bond villain. At 1,94 m tall, he'll be a physical presence as well.

I think we desperately need a female Villian, long overdue and who better to fill that . She is sexy and evil.

I think Plummer is too old now. But I agree with you that Bond villains should ideally be older than Bond. Or at least older looking. Like a distorted fatherly figure.

What a wasted opportunity. Particularly being that him and Craig have done two films together and seem to get along well. I don't think he is too old now. Let's have a sixth Craig film with Plummer as the villain.

Christopher Eccleston. He's a Bond fan. He's worked with DC before too in Our Friends in the North, which had their best acting from both of them, but sadly I guess the chance of seeing them square off in a Bond film has passed (or at least it should have done, I guess nothing is confirmed, but DC doing a sixth would be a terrible idea imo).

But yeah he'd be brilliant. One of our best actors. I'd have him play a proper working class hero type. Someone who hates the establishment Bond stands for and who in a roundabout, morally deplorable extreme methods way is actually helping those worse off more than Bond does. Bet he'd love to play that. And with all the challenging of Bond's sexism we've had isn't it about time someone calls him out for being such a snobby ponce?

@Resurrection I agree that's it's time for a female villain (again). Isabelle Huppert would be my top choice.

I've always fancied Hiroyuki Sanada as a Bond villain. He's a terrific Japanese actor.

And a modern-day Christopher Lambert looks scary as hell too.

I always wanted Eccleston to play a Hugo Drax (from the novel) type of villain. He could play against Craig's successor. My only reservation is that he may be too English. In general I find Bond villains to work better as foreigner.

I'd rather have an unattractive female villain, like Rosa Klebb.

Vincent Cassel would make a good bad guy, he is also adept at martial arts
  • Claes Bang ... who was the best thing about the problematic BBC Dracula released earlier this month.

Reminded me somewhat of Georgi Koscov -- only much more sinister & intimidating.

If we are going with female villains:

    Winona Ryder
    Diane Lane
    Felicity Jones
    Daisy Ridley

He reminded me of Koscov as well. Nice choice for a charming yet sinister megalomaniac.

He was the best thing about the BBC series IMHO. Great ability to deliver deadpan humour which is a key skill.

    Perfect.

It's an obvious choice, like Anthony Hopkins was in the 90s, but it would be a real shame if we never got a Tilda Swinton villain.

Judging from his clownish performance, keep him as far away from James Bond as possible nor Dracula for that matter.

Jeroen Krabbe was perfectly cast as a Bond villain. It was Koskov that was poorly written.

Agree. Definitely has the look of someone I could image working in the SPECTRE organisation.

If SPECTRE will be at work in Bond 26, let's have an hommage to GF and AVTAK, but moreso to TB, with the Organization Head kills off one of the sub-leaders. Tilda Swinton could really bring a lot to a unique villain. If not her, then someone else, an up-and-comer who bring that sociopath, psychopath, damn-near-alien-being-ness to the role. How about a twist ? She's not only up-to-no-good, she's after the top spot and organizes a coup -- with or without the other sub-leaders -- and offs the Org. Head (written that way, it sounds like Kill Bill, but I do NOT mean to suggest to copy any non-Bond films !). Often, I find that the best casting is not someone we all already know -- as with Christopher Walken in AVTAK, or Christoph Waltz in SP, but before they're very famous and they make their mark (like Walken in The Deer Hunter, Waltz in Inglourious Basterds).

Viggo Mortensen, maybe. He came to mind the other day. And I see someone mentioned him in another villain thread, for Bond 25. So far I see him as a Sean Bean/Mads Mikkelsen type, and of course he and Sean starred together in LOTR. In terms of how villains often look, Viggo lacks that and is more on the romantic side I think, but he has the acting chops, physicality, and could go "dark".

Would have made a great Scaramanga, had that film been made a little earlier.
