Conveyor belt bit. I love LTK. One great scene after another. Still bothers me to this day it wasn't a hit in the States. Everywhere else it did quite well, though.

I ma watch this one again in a couple days.

Looks like he came to a DEAD END!
    COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually think Tim delivers that line beautifully and it's quite funny.

Here we go............the climactic plane/tanker chase.

This is right out of a 1940's Republic or Columbia serial.

I should get a copy of BATMAN, watch that, LTK and ROAD HOUSE and make it a summer 1989 triple feature.

    If You Asked Me To.

So continues the newfound tradition of a different song for the end titles.

I prefer that to the 21st Century tradition of playing the same sub standard Bond Theme arrangement during the end credits of every film.

Yeah the titles aren’t great and neither is the song accompanying it which is second to DAD at the bottom for me.

@AntiLocqueBrakes great viewing commentary on TSWLM.
Barbara Bach is a smokeshow. Unreasonably attractive.
    I'm with you. Lovely indeed.
Rog looks good. Probably the last Bond where he's a believable action star.
I thought he was fine in MR too. FYEO is when the age began to noticeably show.
Jaws! For the first time. But he's smiling. For those old enough to see this in the theatres...was this scary?
I can tell you that I was reasonably frightened of him the first time I saw him, and that was on a crappy VHS copy. I can only imagine he was far more terrifying on the big screen in 1977.
Bond kisses on the receptionist for one minute and she gives her life for him. Guess it isn't all about realism. Fantasy is an important part of this whole 007 deal.
We are talking about a dessert desiring Sir Rog in his prime here. Her sudden change to the side of good and virtue is understandable. It's all in the technique.
Fekkesh had protection, sitting between 007 and XXX, but chose to rollout and got himself killed. In American football, we call this staying in the pocket.
Never understood that bit either. I'm assuming he left because he saw Jaws lurking, but still it was a bad move.
Jaws ability to disappear and reappears at random times is well...amazing.
Good point. Never consciously caught onto that before.
Nice action sequence for Uncle Rog. Definitely chopped a dude in the stomach who then acted like he got hit in the chest. Nice body slam and kick though.
:)). I've always enjoyed that bit.
Kalba...dude...scream! Kick! Something. Just let another man bite him to death.
One of the more frightening scenes in the film for me. Love the way his horrified expression is interspersed with the dancers on stage. The music changes just as he's killed - becomes more mellow. Nicely done.
XXX driving away. Nice quip "Shaken but not stirred". Locations for this movie really set it apart so far. The two in ballrooms outfits walking across the desert does it for me. Nice use of the Lawrence of Arabia music there.
This whole section of the film is one of the most iconic in the canon for me. It's just so well done. Atmospheric, romantic, stylish and suspenseful. Tremendous work.
XXX waits with the grin on her face. I really like her character (obviously). Here comes the pissing match between her and Bond over interpreting the microfilm. Gogol proposes an alliance. She smiles. This is the exact moment where she gives way. Right before the train fight. R.I.P. Useful-XXX.
So true. This is the moment where she wilts. Game over.
Train fight No. 3 (FRWL, LALD). Jaws isn't Red Grant though. He's a buffoon. A nuisance. There's no doubt he'll lose this fight and kill no one in the process. There he goes. Off the train. Unhurt. Just kill him off already.
I do enjoy this fight though. It fits the tone of the film. An FRWL style encounter would have been too brutal for this outing.
The Lotus! Underrated car. Sad to see XXX reduced to jealous girl now. The hotel clerk and Naomi (smoking) ...just pushing her further and further down.
Love the Lotus too. I actually prefer it to the DB5 (the OHMSS DBS is my fave). I have to say the XXX jealousy moment always gets a smile out of me. Rog plays it well and Bach is excellent there. If looks could kill. Smoldering.
Lotus goes underwater. This is special for me. This scene was the first time I'd ever seen a Roger Moore-Bond film. TSWLM was the 2nd Bond film I ever saw (Goldfinger). I remember asking my Dad about the car going underwater. Bye, bye Naomi.
I can't exactly remember the first time I saw this scene but it really blew me away as well. For years this was my favourite Bond film and I always waited for this sequence. It holds up surprisingly well 40+ years later too. Iconic, and the film probably peaks here.
Bond breaks the crew loose and a big pow-wow ensues. Shucks. They can't get to that control room (coughYOLTcough). Lots of people die in the process. "Leave it me sir." Kid volunteers to get in the control room. Poor kid dies in the process. You need a name tag to make plays in this business, kid. Ask Nigel Powers.
The kid survives to pilot the 747 in the MR PTS.
Bond's gotta take the detonator out of missile without the charges touching the edge (1983 called, wants to rent this too). This is a cool scene though. Bond getting over the camera to deliver the bomb to the control room. Grade-A spy stuff right here. Once this bomb goes off, the bad guy is going to have a hard time winning.
One of the more memorable moments of the Bond theme being used in the canon imho.
Story wraps up its final bit of foolishness (XXX actually being upset about dead lover and Jaws swims away). But it's still been a fun ride.

"Keeping the British end up sir" Still can't get over how MR ends the same way. Bond getting peeped on with leading lady, quip and alternate song ending. I swear, Cubby must have said, "This is so good. Let's run this again ... in space!"
Rog's look when XXX has the gun to him cracks me up every time. Great bit of acting by both of them.

Good point about MR ending the same way. Why change a good thing.

According to John Glen, it tested higher than any other previous Bond film. The poor marketing did it a lot of damage!

Robert Brownjohn is kind of an unsung hero in Bond. I imagine many fans assume these titles are still Binder's work.
    Great work, IMO.
    Iconic.

    Into Miami........................

another piece of music I love.

1964 seems like so much fun. If I were ever to visit Miami, I'd rather it be the Miami of 1964 than today.

Bond gets thumped. This scene deserves it's iconic status. The gold on Eaton's body glitters. Sean looks upset. Subtle performance but true.
