As a kid I always noticed the 'J&B' signage in the umbrellas. Nice touch.

I like how the music stops when the jeep smashes through the wall over the cliff.

I really enjoy the construction of this PTS. The parachute coming back into play. Seeing the box fall out of the jeep and explode. The training exercise explaining why Bond is unarmed (except the knife off course).

The theme tune just fades out as the title sequence ends... That's fairly unusual.

Bond in tuxedo at a concert behind the iron curtain. Love it. Dalton looking kickass. In fact - the best he looks in the series I'd venture to say.

This whole sniper sequence is fantastic. Dalton is lethal. Love the close up on his eye when he realises it's the 'girl with the cello'. The night vision filter adds to the tension. Great Cold War suspense as Koskov scurries across cobblestone streets.

Love Dalton's repetition of Saunders 'need to know' line.

Was that really Saunder's plan? Put him in the boot. Seems insanely obvious for a secret service agent,

Poor old Q - having to run up those stairs and then pop some pills!

Love the celebratory music as the harrier jet rises up

Dalton has good chemistry with Thomas Wheatley - they work well in this antagonistic relationship. Dalton looks so damn lethal when he says 'stuff my orders, if he fires me I'll thank him for it. Whoever she is must have scared the living Daylights out of her.' Total Fleming Bond.

Necros is introduced so well here and the Walkman motif is a nice character quirk.

So was Necros going to take out Bond, M and Minister of Defence? He arrives just seconds after they leave. I'd imagine 007 would have taken on Necros in a heartbeat and Koskov's plan would have been defeated before it began.

Three separate Q scenes in the first 35 minutes of the film. Is that a record?

I'm not a car guy - but that Aston is fantastic.

Feel bad for Kara when she believes Bond's appearance means Koskov has kept his promise to send for her

I like mixing it up and not having Q explain all of the things the Aston can do but find out for ourselves as they are used.

I think the ice chase has the right amount of silliness to it.

The wide shot of Bond and Kara sliding over the hills with troops chasing them to the Austrian border reminds me of Indy running toward the plane away from the tribesmen at the start of Raiders.

Love how Vienna is presented especially with Barry's score weaving in the instrumental version of If There Was A Man.

Just realised those 'sassy' horns in 'Where Has Everybody Gone' remind me a lot of 'Surrender' by David Arnold and K.D Lang.

I wonder where that music comes from. Maybe from the De Wolfe music library.

That random diegetic sound of 'where has everybody gone' that plays as Saunders walks into the cafe is sinister.

Dalton has another killer scene after Saunders dies. His interaction with Kara is one of the best, subtle acting in the series. He goes from protecting Kara, to surprised and then disappointed she knows Whittaker to angry at the mention of Koskov's name and then seems to harden again when he realises he needs to concentrate on his mission rather than on Kara. All in the space of a minute. Dalton is really present in this scene and reacting to each line.
