Love this part too. Bond hanging from the ropes so high up is a bit nail-biting - he puts a lot of faith in those piton spikes, casually swinging back and forth and then releasing one.
If you don t use a language for three or four decades, you tend to gorget.
Cheers, it is a shame about TND as PB's performance is good and has improved over time for me. Alas as many of us believe, PB really was not given particularly good material during his tenure.
My second favourite Bond film. Fair warning - I will basically gush about this film. The parts some people criticise are no problem for me. The reboot aspect (I think this is the perfect level of myth building without getting too deep into backstory the way SF and especially SP do), the top loaded action sequences (the parkour sequence is among my favourite in the series and I always enjoy the Miami airport chase even though many feel it goes on too long it doesn't for me.)
Love the way Jeffrey Wright says to the waiter 'my friend, bring me one of those but hold the fruit.'
Bond's rough, hurt edge is on good display here. Then Wright comes in with that gravelly voice and delivers lines like 'I'm bleeding chips' like he's channeling Clint Eastwood.
Now Bond's been drugged...
Always raises a smile (I remember the reception it got in the cinema!)
What an ending. Perfection. Bond theme with that guitar and bongos. Makes me want to put QOS on straight away. Will never forget how excited I was watching this in the cinema when it was released. Another great watch tonight.
They are indeed a great double bill,Major !!
My all time favorite delivery of that line. Roger worked hard to ensure he didn't say it like Sean, and it paid off. He's his own Bond from the start. Great scene as well.
He definitely is his own Bond. I think each of the 6 had a unique presence, which is special and important for such a long-running series.
Classic Bond line. Rosie bites the dust.
