So on my television set, I'd say the MOVIES picture setting is the truest to the cinematic look. The STANDARD setting looks pretty damned good, though bright and crisp, and the ECO setting is almost as good.
The SPORTS setting looks too saturated as does VIVID and GAMES.

Overall I'd say the DVD version does the film justice.

She has snot coming down her nose like Pierce Brosnan in TOMORROW NEVER DIES..

    Into the titles................................
    The theme song segues beautifully..
I'm really digging this song now.
My favorite Kleinman title sequence after CR.

The ONLY Craig Bond movie that doesn't use the poster font for it's title scene.
    Thank goodness.

The Truman-Lodge/Boris of this film, Valdo.
This is a great post credits sequence.

Ralph Fiennes looks his most M like in the film IMHO.

    I love the Jamaica moments.
Very Fleming. Craig looks his best in this film, IMO. He could be just beginning his era as far as I'm concerned.

Logan kisses Bond's ass from the get go.
Every time he tries to get into the conversation Bond dismisses him.

I had to stop for a moment to adjust the sound on my Blu-ray player.
    Okay that's better.

I need to add speakers at some point. I should look into Bluetooth or something.

Wright is my fave Felix now.

    Bond's vehicle is effed up.
    I think Nomi is great!

    "I'm 007."

    Oooooh, cap, cap cap.
    Bond got roasted.

    "it's just a number"

In the PTS as he takes off in the plane. Pierce had a cold during filming. Close ups of his face show a little snot coming out.

Bond in a trucker hat. Hmm.

    Paloma is amazing.
Bond in the traditional black tie. Superb scene.
I can see why this is a favorite section of the film for many. It really is fun.

Mickey G's best performance in the series.

I see. Now I wonder if I really wanted to know that, haha. Anyway, I guess I just found my new profile pic. ;)

I love the SPECTRE birthday bash sequence.
I may be the only one who likes it.
    Paloma is quite cute here.

Valdo is a bit annoying in the plane with Bond, but I love his character regardless.

Bond is getting pissed in his interrogation of Valdo.
Great performances by all involved in this scene.
This fight scene is reasonably brutal.

Haha! Sorry I mentioned it. You may never not notice it now,
Kind of like I never noticed Bond fires to the side slightly during the LALD/TMWTGG gun-barrel. Now I can't not see it.

I always stepped out of the cinema here during the Felix scene. :(
Crap this is sad. If this were John Terry's Felix I'd be probably laughing in this scene.

    The Daltonator Aston Martin returns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Long live Timothy Dalton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Superb "Bond............................................James Bond" reading this time. I love it!
    Great scene!

Bond tells M that he effed everything up.
If this were Edward Fox's M he'd respond by saying
" Oh, do come ALONG, Bond!!!"

Ralph Fiennes is superb in this scene. Wonderful Bond/M scene IMO.

    Definitely the same desk.

    Oooh, cap, cap ,cap.

    M got roasted,

    Whishaw is an amazing Q.

Yay! Madeleine. Lea Seydoux is an excellent Bond girl.

I love this scene with Safin.

Rami Malek reminds me a bit of Udo Kier in
ANDY WARHOL'S DRACULA. I think Rami would make an excellent Dracula, actually.

The OHMSS theme makes it's way here.
Here is another wonderful Bond/M scene I love.
Fiennes has some great facial expressions in this scene.

The one that I have a hard time not noticing is the special effect of the jet in OP (keeping it vague here in case you don't know what I'm referring to). The last few watches I either squinted my eyes or covered part of the screen with my hand to try and ignore it.

Yes, the Jet effect in the OCTOPUSSY PTS is very obvious when you know it's there.
Yeah the Felix moment was very moving. More so than M or Vesper for me.

Another Oooh, cap, cap, cap moment.
Bond goes to greet Dr Swann and she's cold towards him, though he doesn't know why.

When I was a kid, a very immature thing my classmates did when one insulted another was to scratch their chins and go "Oh, cap, cap, cap! You got roasted!"

Here's a fairly unpopular scene: Bond and Blofeld.

I do like this scene. It's so different and unexpected. I just roll with it.
At this point I'd made peace with the fact we weren't really getting a SHATTERHAND as it were.

I think Craig and Waltz are great in this scene.

I love Bond's outfit as he arrives at Madeleine's house in Norway. I dig that overcoat.
Great scene with Madeleine here. Craig is quite heartfelt.
Lisa-Dorah Sonnet is superb as Mathilde.
There are so many ways this could have gone wrong with a miscast child actor.
    Well done.

Sliced apple? FFS, where are the scrambled eggs?
    A missed opportunity.

Bond could've used his Dalton Aston Martin here.
    Hmm. Oh well.

    Yay! It's Dou Dou!

I love the Norway country side scenes.
This chase sequence is a great action scene, IMO.
Makes up for the somewhat indifferent action scenes in
    SPECTRE.
