    Echoes of FYEO here

I love Safin's lair. I also love the WWII reference here.
Wonderful production design in this film.
Rami totally has an Udo Kier vibe during these scenes with Mathilde, Madeleine and Dou Dou.

Well, it's officially my deceased girlfriend's birthday now.
    Happy birthday.
As Craig says during the Vesper grave scene:

    "I miss you".

Since she would've gotten this for me anyway I'll consider this her Christmas gift to me.

It was pointed out on another forum that Dou Dou previously belonged to Madeleine, as you can see it on her bed in the PTS. I missed that on each viewing.

Has Bond ever said "shit" before this film?

Interesting! I'll look for that next time.

    Bond apologizes on his knees.
His knees must be killing him.

    M says "Come on Bond".

He should've added " Get the Hell off that rig!!!"

I probably shouldn't have posted that. Now I've got Willard Whyte in my head and I'm laughing during an intense climax to this film.

I love the second gun-barrel here as well.

The quip after the Primo fight was pretty good, really. That was a good final henchman fight. Reminds me of CASINO ROYALE only funnier.
I love the vintage 1950's control room. Great stuff here!

    Yay! It's Dou Dou!!!!
When I was Mathilde's age I had a little stuffed dog named Wah Wah.
Dou Dou reminds me of Wah Wah.

Rami reminds me of Udo Kier yet again in ANDY WARHOL'S DRACULA during his final confrontation with Bond.

Bond looks to be in massive pain. Like Christopher Reeve in SUPERMAN II after he gets beaten up when he gives up his super powers to be with Lois.

Bond is in deep shit now.

    Great performances all round here.

    Madeleine is pretty cute, too.

His name was "Bond, James Bond"

" I know his name, Mom. We spent several days with the man. Besides, he's still got my Dou Dou!!!!!!!"

That was astonishing. This was my 4th time seeing this one. It's now risen considerably in my rankings. Just like EVERY Bond film does whenever I watch one.

I love the SPECTRE birthday bash sequence.
I may be the only one who likes it.
    Paloma is quite cute here.

No, I really like that party scene too! It has a sense of the macabre, which Fleming would approve of!

I love the Norway country side scenes.
This chase sequence is a great action scene, IMO.
Makes up for the somewhat indifferent action scenes in
    SPECTRE.

Yes, but I do think they could have done a little bit more with it!

As I watch the living daylights I just I love Dalton I still feel he is the most underrated James Bond because unlike lazenby he can act… he was Craig before Craig….

    He has humor
    He can do action
    He can do reflective
He can do the lifestyle (a comment I get from most people is the lifestyle doesn’t work in the Dalton films I disagree he knows great restaurants he know the hotel guy he tips the manager to get fresh flowers every day in license to kill)

It’s odd my favorite bond film is Casino Royale and Craig was in to be my favorite but Spectre and No time to die kind of pushed him down to number two

I also just wonder knowing what I know of The Property of a Lady that Dalton doing just two is perfect for what it was I guess

I just wish more saw Dalton the way I do the pretty much perfect Bond

Maybe a third film in 91 and a fourth in 93 would of pushed Dalton more in the minds of bond fans maybe if instead of Doom ID software mad a revolutionary fps featuring Dalton’s Bond fans would he the goldeneye love that Brosnan got…

I sound like an old fool but still

Or maybe if Dalton was bond in goldeneye I dunno what would change the minds of people

Also someone said EON should jump in the deage trend and bring Dalton back for a third film set in 91 I love that idea

I hear ya! I do believe if Dalton had done a 3rd it would have improved him in the eyes of the public, but cest la vie, wasn't to be, and we still have his 2 brilliant films to enjoy again and again!
P.S. Dalton really should have been in GE! 😁

I'm loving the Dalton appreciation here. One of my least favorite elements during the Brosnan years was the Dalton bashing that tended to occur. I was very disappointed when he announced he wasn't coming back for B17 after the hiatus.
I believe a 3rd film could've provided a nice balance between Fleming Bond and cinematic Bond for him.

Yes, agree totally! An interview with John Glen surmised the next Bond movie would be 'Risico'
Would love to have seen the announcement
    Timothy Dalton
    Is
    James Bond
    In
    RISICO

That would've been great. Sigh. Oh, well.

My new job had a secret Santa Christmas party today and I received both Connery Collection DVD volumes as well as the Craig collection. I hardly know this co worker, but she seems to have impeccable taste. I was expecting to receive a Christmas coffee mug or something but wow.
So here we go..................my favorite James Bond movie:

    DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

I just popped it in to see what the DVD transfer looks like and I am quite surprised. It looks completely different from the Lowery Blu-ray transfer and more akin to the old MGM/UA Connery classics version.
