So, where I live we had 17 degrees below 0 Fahrenheit temperature this morning.
Took quite some time to defrost my windshield and I called work to say I was running late.
I headed out on these icy roads and a few minutes later, the temperature gage in my car signaled it was overheating so I came back home.

I called work back and said

"I'm not going to make it".

I did my best to sound defeated and exhausted like Craig does here.

    "James, you're screwed".

    "I know. I know".

I'm truly glad Safin didn't actually end up being Doctor No.

That wouldn't sit well with me and just wouldn't make sense. I know some fans are open to anything as long as its done well, but I feel there are limitations.

It's kind of like hypothetically: lets have James Bond turn out to be Santa Claus. He could live in the North Pole in a lavish Ken Adam style set, have reindeer, etc.

Q Branch could be run by elves and Aston Martin could supply Santa Bond's sleigh.

Craig could grow his whitening beard out fuller......as long as it's written and directed well, it could be brilliant.

No. That would be just as effed up as Safin turning out to be Doctor No.
I didn't follow the production of this film so I don't even understand where that rumor came from, but I'm happy it was false. No need for that.

Haha, I love your little stories of Bond intruding into real life.

-Hello. If my car overheats, how do I cool it down?
-You know as well as I do that you can't. If it heats up, it'll stay that way for ever. It's eternal. That's why you mustn't let it happen.
    -Well, that's not gonna work...

    Haha! Perfect!
Luckily I have a 2nd job so I'll make up a few of those lost hours this weekend.
The car needed antifreeze. 17 below doesn't help matters.
Yeah, there were rumors for quite awhile that Safin was Doctor No. I didn't follow that too closely, but it does seem like it was at least a consideration at some point.

That was a superb viewing, though I do feel the movie is uneven. However, there's a handful of uneven Bond films I love regardless.

Once he removes that sweater, the braces and white shirt have a John Boy of THE WALTONS look.

I remember I once caught a brief look at a photo of Craig wearing the braces and shirt. I didn't really pay attention to it because I was in no-spoiler mode, but at the time I remember wondering if it was from Bond 25 or perhaps Cowboys & Aliens. I didn't expect that attire.

Blofeld's enough when it comes to returning villains. Otherwise the world of the films will become too small.

Well said. I really think Blofeld is the one exception of a returning villain being a option. Of course there's Jaws, but that is a rare situation.
