  • I'm not bothered by this anymore either. It's still making me scratch my head though. I'm expecting it for 24 and 25 now.

i dont even expect it for any of them now. I have been worried for four years and hoped for the next bond film, which is skyfall, to have the gun barrel open. Now i have lost total hope. I will just wait and see, but im not going to get excited for the gun barrel like i have for skyfall. I dont know what they will do next. I am just trying to forget about the gun barrel so i can keep my excitment for it, like i did do beofre i got very upset about the gb. In the end, what can i do.

It is very consfusing though, your right. Its making me sccrath my head. I will proberbly do that after going to the cinema, but hopefuly i will be so amazed that i forget about the gb. Nothing is always perfect i supose. .

They realy should have done it for skyfall though. It felt right, so i didnt think they would be stupid enough too. Oh well, they must be some sort of reason, they has to be.. ???????????

How can someone know if the gunbarrel is at the end? The Movie hasn't hit theaters yet and the premiere even hasn't happen.

1,600 people saw it on Friday at the press screening. A few members of this board were at said screening.

well i can only hope that the screening is different from the worldwide premiere and that we have the gunbarrel at the beginning. Or maybe when its released on dvd it will be edited in the beginning. So who knows. Ill see it to believe.

I am a little disappointed by the placing of the gun barrel, but by the looks of it Skyfall seems to be an amazing movie, and in the end, isn't that the only thing that really matters?

That can happen, It´s a simple work of editing and perhaps they will listen the fans this time...

Yes, it just would have been nice to be 100% perfect.

i dont mean 100 perfect in the film and stuff, i just mean a good film and a gun barrel where it belongs.

Just had an idea. Because all the fans wanted it back at the start. Could they have delibratly put it at the end for the screenings, ready to suprise the fans for the big day.

If this isnt so, then i have to say something else that has annyoed me. THEY RELEASED A FEW SKYFALL POSTERS WITH THE ICONIC GUN BARREL IN THEM. THIS HAS DELIBRATLY MADE US ALL THINK ITS BACK IN THE TRADITIONAL WAY. Thats another reason why having it at the end was daft.

thats what i have been saying... it's like they are just mind f-ing us lol.. thats honestly how it feels..

i just can't see any logical artistic reason as to why it now has to be at the end of the movies - other than the first 20 films had it at the beginning, and now that Bond is rebooted with a new series, it has to be at the end - in order to differentiate between the two Bond timelines.... i dont know *shrugs*

  • esspecialy with the gun barrel at the end of quantum skyfall new chapter. so confusing.. ..

That could be the main reason why its at the end cuz they had no excuse to put it at the end again
  • casino royale almost had it at the begining though. so i just cannot see the logic.

DN didn't have a PTS, but the other 22 films do....... same difference lol..

  • I'm disapointed and I must say, really mad at producers and Sam Mendes about this gunbarrel
It just seems that now...anybody can do anything he wants on a bond movie...
No more Bond Theme during the movie(or extremely rare, I could say in extinction way)...directors who don't respect codes...
What's next? David Lynch on Bond 24? No more opening titles and song?
    Damn....future looks so bright !

    I agree.

Bond has lost his gadgets he hasn't been a spy since Bronsan era either.

That's what the screening is for to get the audiences reaction. No one knows 100% sure it will not be at the beginning. For all those claiming it's not gonna happen, you don't know what will happen between now and the release date.

i think you may be confusing the Test Screening with a Press Screening...

the Test Screening usually involves getting a theater full of people - showing the film - and then gauging the audience opinion of it afterwards via a small focus group... and depending on how the audience feels, they can go back and make alterations to the film if need be..

the Press Screening is the finished product, screened for only those select members of the media - usually a week or 2 prior to the film's opening... very rarely, do films get altered after a press screening - but it could happen

    @ "samshwey"
Pierce Brosnan Bond didn't do spy work, he was Rambo.

Bond in film has always been less spy, more detective / action hero
  • The gunbarrel at the end again? Oh joy. What excuse this time? Bond has to find/reinvent himself AGAIN? Give me a break. This is the 50th anniversary of Bond on screen and there is no, I repeat, no excuse for this film to not kick-off with a good ol' classic gunbarrel sequence. I'm getting very tired with all the meddling to the formula.
  • i have been so hyped for this film, but the gun barrel at the end really let it down. I am still feeling excited as i was, but its still annoying me in the back of my head. I need answers and i will get them.

Personally I would like to see the gunbarrel at the beginning, but maybe by putting it at the end the producers are trying to make us see that a Bond film is about more than these shibboleths, that you can make a great film about 007 without certain elements of the 'formula'. For my money, they have a point, and as long as they don't mess with the character of Bond himself too much I'll be happy.
  • Could this be the gun barrel, which opens at the start of this interview

no... chances are whoever edited together this video just ripped that from youtube (because i know i've seen it before)... it's just a combination of the Brosnan GB with Craig's walk/turn/and shoot from the QOS GB... Kleinman would probably want to do something new..
