I found her quite attractive. Must be one of those "eye of the beholder" things.
Absolutely. I don´t see what´s supposed to be not attractive About her.

However, I somehow found the film not emotionally engaging. And it had Nothing whatsoever to do with the female characters. I guess it just wasn´t my type of groove. Ben Mendelsohn was outstanding though.
Didn´t dig much the de-aging. I suspect a few years from now ist limiting impact on the actor´s work will be fairly obvious.

The review embargo for Avengers: Endgame will lift on April 23rd, a day before the film opens in Europe & 3 days before it's opening day in North America.

Was going to start a superhero movie rating thread but have never managed to get a new thread started before it was stamped on by the mods, so here's my Marvel top ten ranking without (God forbid) starting a seperate thread:

    1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier Everything about this film is top notch. A good solid conspiracy plot, Steve Roger's intro into the modern world is intelligent and touching, characters are all well written and the action is just bang on the money.
    2. Iron Man A great origin story that's really assured. The snappy dialogue and RDJ are a match made in heaven.
    3. Avengers Assemble Rarely puts a foot wrong and everyone gets good screentime.
    4. Captain America: Civil War Juggles all the characters and incidents expertly and never loses sight that this is a Cap film.
    5. Logan A brave and heartfelt film.
    6. Deadpool Just so cool and very funny
    7. Spider-Man 2 Best of the Spidey films. Some spectacular action and a they really do Doc-Ock justice
    8. X-Men Really like the first one. Simple and effective.
    9. Captain America: The first Avenger Another great origin story.
    10. Thor Ragnarok Revels in its own ridiculousness and is great fun without being overwhelming.

I could agree with this. I would take off Thor Ragnarok only because it lacks memorably for me. Probably Spiderman home coming would take it's place.
  • For me, unless Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine in any way, Logan & Black Panther were the last Marvel movies.

I think I maybe more inclined to rank Marvel movies until after I've seen Endgame as it's only a few weeks away now. Other than that really good list @LeonardPine. Interesting to see the love for The First Avenger.

Captain Marvel is fourth on the box-office for 2019, with 2 137 071 seats sold. And it's been at first place per week for its first two weeks.

Thanks @2Wint2Kidd I was rather bored with Infinity War to be honest. A 3 hour Endgame sounds exhausting.

I think The First Avenger is very underrated. I really love the film.

I hadn't watched the First Avenger for a long time until a couple of months ago, and was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to watching it again sometime soon. Very underrated in my opinion.

I think The First Avenger is very underrated. I really love the film.

I seriously don't know why but people online talk about it like it's one of the weaker MCU films. I think it one for the best! It's a quintessential comicbook movie; it has heart, humor, and action.

Controversial opinion: John Krasinski would have been a far better Captain America/Steve Rogers then Chris Evans. Just thought I’d say this somewhere.

Its only real sin is that it was followed up by two of the best comic book movies in Winter Soldier and Civil War. It's a perfectly entertaining movie, a great villain in Red Skull and a great supporting cast. The obviously filmed for the 3D montage in the middle is the only lacking area in the entire movie, for me.

Evans is one of the best things about the MCU and has turned a character generally perceived as a boring square into a beloved icon.

Krasinski doesn't have much range as an actor and, in his hands, Steve Rogers would have been infected with the actor's ironic, self-aware Jim Halpert routine. Totally wrong for the character.

Thankyou! I’ve been saying for years that not only is it the best Phase 1 movie but the most underrated film in the MCU. It’s got tons of style and heart.

I'm also a big fan of Captain America TFA. It is truly underrated. On the other hand, Iron Man 3 is the worst MCU movie for me. It has the most boring second act, in that franchise. It also repeats the first one's message: is it the suit that makes Tony Stark who he is? Ben Kingsley is also wasted as well.

It’s indeed strange that there’s been very little discussion or enthusiasm for Captain Marvel on this thread since it first opened, apart from the massaged BO figures and the highly suspect and manipulated RT scores and criticism. It’s almost like a lonely tumbleweed blowing through town.

I'm sure Krasinski is a fine actor but I just see Jim Halpert whenever I look at him! Probably the result of watching every season of The Office in a month!

After having watched Krasinski in both Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and A Quiet Place, I detected no sign of Jim Halpert in his portrait. I'm fairly certain he would have been terrific as Captain America. People were highly doubtful and prepared to boycott Chris Evans' casting in the role to begin with. Look at how easily he changed people's minds.

All I'm saying is that I would have preferred Krasinski as Rogers. Somehow, he's more believable to me as Captain America.

I saw him in 'A Quiet Place' before I saw The Office. Saw him recently as Jack Ryan and he was Jim Halpert at the CIA...! Not his fault it's just how I see him!

I think Chris Evans is perfection as Cap personally.
