We seem to be drifting into that kind of discussion here as well unfortunately. Yet another example of outside debates leaching into an unrelated topic. Sad that this has to happen.
I'm not seeing the filmmakers taking on a politically hated figure as a model for a Bond villain. Even as a quick aside, as done in a positive light with Thatcher, going negative and political is something to avoid. And with the current tone of the films I think that's even more true.
What would the villlain's plot be? Questionable real estate dealings? Unfair construction projects? The unexplained popularity of his (or her) reality television show?
Doesn't really sound like a bad thing, it's not like we get too many already.
As long as Bond stays white, male and a womanizer, I'm perfectly fine with it.
Oh I'm totally against changing the race or sex of an existing character, but they obviously don't need to do that, it's just pandering.
We don't often GET female villains in the movie Bond universe, and the major female villains -- the Irma Bunts and Rosa Klebbs -- aren't very attractive to begin with. Fleming didn't create Fiona Volpe or Xenia Onatoppe, and that sort of femme fatale is only present in maybe 1/4 of the Eon films...so the absence of a female villain in the next Bond storyline can't really be placed at Trump's door either.
As I said at the outset, I don't foresee much impact from Trump on Bond films. His government is really quite beneficial to Britain's security interests, and may in fact be more of a positive factor in a post-Brexit environment where US linkages may be more welcomed and encouraged.
I think the EU will play into B25. I could see a traditional Gilbert style scenario where Russia (or Germany) is being fingered as the 'big bad' and the real culprit is a rogue operating out of Europe (or the US, China or Middle East even).
Wildly successful businessman like Goldfinger, Drax, Stromberg, many others.
Manipulates (or successfully spars with) the media like Carver.
Shameless self-promoter and braggart like Gustav Graves (present company excepted @Gustav_Graves).
Operator of The Family Business, minus the mutinous actions of Electra King.
As noted, Bond villain with a physical deformity goes to the hair.
Cheats at a game of sport, golf mentioned. Maybe beauty pageants.
Seeks title/position and the privilege that comes with it like Blofeld.
So what new elements to bring to it?
Has more than his share of disgruntled, usually fired, former employees or discarded acquaintances. Meaning also that most people won't cross him and pay the price.
Surprisingly/controversially elected to high office and passionately opposed by press and public.
Tech-savvy, at least to get his message out in sometimes crude ways.
Lacks fear of hot-button topics like race, immigration, gender issues, health care. So, offensive at times.
Eats a lot of junk food.
Makes mysteriously frequent trips to Florida.
Not on board with the current environmental program of action.
I'd go with environmental.
So kind of like The Manchurian Candidate, only this time with twins?!
So Trump is the new Elvis? Sounds good to me. Be careful on the steps, Donald.
"The Donald has left the building." (We wish...)
Give him time now, or even a term (maybe).
I'll be happy to see him get some time. Twenty to life would be about right...

Wow, surprisingly powerful words there from Arnold. Goes to show that just because one is known for playing in a fantasy land of characters and cameras doesn't mean one has to be those characters through every walk of their life. Mr. Reality TV could learn a thing or two about entering true reality.
Well said Arnie.
If only...
