If you're trying to use Giphy, you have to actually click into the gif itself to get the correct "copy image address".
Yes, Daniel. And if you're trying to get them off a browser, it could be the same story, you have to click through to the actual gif (rather than trying to copy it from the google page or whatever).
Hope that helps!
Okay, for real now. You have to place the URL of the gif between "img" tags.
In other words, the following (without the extra spaces):
[ img ] http://address-to-your-gif.gif [ /img ]
Click on the image symbol, and just copy and paste the URL in the square that pops up.
Strange. The image function usually does it for me, but only if the link ends with .gif
Ok I just tried posting a gif there of Djimon Hounsou saying “ not yet “ there using the method you demonstrated but it only posts the image text.I put but it doesn’t work.Bear in mind I’m using an iPad.Dies that make a difference?
The problem is that that's not the address to the gif file itself. By right clicking the image on the Tenor site and clicking on "copy URL to clipboard" (or whatever this action is called in English on your browser) I got the URL of the actual gif file.
https://c.tenor.com/2ADGuw1Fwn8AAAAd/but-not-yet-djimon-hounsou.gif
Note how it ends with (dot) gif
Ok clearly I have posted the proper URL of the image there but it’s just displaying the code, now how do I actually post the image? Do I just post it again and put at the front and back if it?
Ah! Finally! Thanks everyone!
That's correct.
Also, pasting the URL of the gif in the "image URL" textbox (accesible from the toolbar) should achieve the same result.
Good!
You can t. Not to this site. You have to go via a third party picture-share service.
I'd been trying but couldn't figure it out.
The image function should include these tags; you have the broken image icons, are you using the image function *and* adding your own closing tag?
That's it! I'm outta' here!
At least you know that if you get fooled once you can't get fooled again.
