BFI London Film Festival Set to Vacate Long-Time Hub of Odeon Leicester Square
    https://variety.com/2021/film/global/bfi-london-film-festival-leicester-square-james-bond-1234991162/

Industry insiders have speculated that the late September release of James Bond film “No Time to Die” may play a role in the change of venues.

The much delayed film will open on Sept. 30 at Leicester Square and other Odeon properties, a week ahead of the festival’s Oct. 6 opening.

Sources with knowledge of the move denied Bond’s opening as the reason the festival has decided to vacate its decades-long presence at the Odeon Leicester Square, pointing out that the Odeon group has always juggled commercial programming with festival fare at this flagship venue.

However, with “No Time to Die” already pushed back three times due to the coronavirus pandemic, the stakes are high in terms of persuading audiences to return to cinemas — and to uphold the franchise’s billion-dollar status. For Bond, most exhibitors will want to have as many screens available as possible.

Originally set to premiere in April 2020, the film’s producers tentatively marked their calendars for Nov. 2020, and then April 2021, before eventually landing on Sept. 2021 in the U.K. (Oct. 8 in the U.S.), in order to take advantage of social distancing measures relaxing amid a vaccine rollout.

Could it be some Omaze thing again, with Craig inviting "you and a friend" to the London VIP premiere, meet cast, see movie - if you donate to omaze/charity thing

I donated to that before, was supposed to receive a "thank you" gift of some sort for the amount I donated--I want to say it was supposed to be an autographed photo or a video message from DC. I didn't get squat.

That's really f***** up. And fraud

I would not want squat, either. Nor would I want to receive "diddly-squat." Somewhere along the way, "diddly-squat" was shortened to just "squat." It appears, however, you did receive bupkis.

Interesting interview from Jeffrey Wright that I had not read before.

Talks a lot about his filming for all of the Bonds he has been in.

With the mention of NTTD clothing, I've been collecting the tactical gear, and those of you with an interest in this may be aware of the Carbon Tactics buckles which feature on Bond and Nomi's commando outfits.

A while back, I identified a different brand buckle that Nomi wears in Cuba - the two she wears either side with red latches. It finally arrived today, and it's a cool looking buckle:

alongside the Carbon Tactics Epoch buckle which features on both Bond and Nomi's leg holster:

Do you have a clearer picture of Nomi's MP7?
Okay, here's a couple pics of the MP7 - still need to reshape the suppressor before sanding it. In the bottom photo, several other items I haven't shown here yet.

Cheers buddy, that means a lot. And thanks for asking to see the MP7, as it motivated me to finally add the red and white 'fire selector' stickers on either side of it. Looks so much better with those stickers.

Ah, the classic H&K fire selectors. I've always found a subtle beauty about these weird washing machine stickers on the side of such a high end military firearm

Train footage at the end i haven't seen before. Bond looking behind him and possible must catch something but is to late. Is it Ana Armas chacter walking when he turn his head or is it Olga/Camile. It is front of that train guy on the left, that also happen in QOS when Bond say goodbye to camile. History repeating.

Mabey another ''woman walking by is another way to die'' moment. Also that woman in train almoost block that view.

Warning sign that something can happen in the future. Earlier i wrote something about that you see twice in Casino Royale. Solange who walking by and the woman walking by the airplane.

Train scene it self was already intresting from the start when i must think about Camile and as symbol of death.

Thank you mate, that's about 1/5 of the NTTD collection, I would never fit it all in one shot! I think the MP7 looks even better with the foregrip folded down, but it appears that Nomi prefers to keep it tucked in and hold the suppressor with her left hand.

That's a great way to describe them. Just a touch of colour makes the weapon look less boring. I have to add these stickers to a UMP and MP5 as well.

    Interesting thoughts. Loving the speculation.

Wicked. Well if that's 1/5 I bet it's some collection indeed.

It's been an interesting and unique journey this time around, as all the delays have allowed me to amass a bigger collection from this film compared to the others. On the lead up to Spectre, I bought just the octopus ring prop and a Heineken 007 can.

That is true. Just waiting for the movie has also been a "interesting & unique journey"

You got any other bits in mind, to add to your collection?

The remote detonator Bond holds in Safin's lair. Need to wait and see the film to get a better look at that. Same with Nomi's walkie talkie. There are some black limpet mines in the film with flashing lights on top. I wouldn't mind the spear gun but it's a bit pricey.
  • Oh the spear gun I love how that gives us "thunderball" & "licence to kill" vibes.
