I don't think, that they repeated the complete dialogue, when writing about the sequence, that they saw.
I'm 100% sure, that they did not do any re-shoots,
as they said they didn't do.
And by the way: we always have scenes in trailers, that don't make the finished movie.
So IF the "The past isn't dead"-line is not in the film, that doesn't mean, that they re-shot it.
This is beginning to sound like an '80's television soap opera. I hope the film doesn't play like this or they could retitle it THE BOND AND THE BEAUTIFUL.
NTTD has been described like an emotional love story and a film about family where
Anyway, I never saw this pic but too much time has passed and I might be wrong…
Screaming if that's the ending of these 5-films.
The emotional stakes will be insane if these rumors are true. From everything we've seen they still completely deliver on the action front. My hopes for this film are sky high.
@matt_u Voila:
Nah… too sci-fi and weird… that nickname will probably come from her past with Safin, that was a SPECTRE agent when kidnapped her, and the fact that prior to that she grew up with one of SPECTRE most prominent members as her dad. In fact her childhood has always been connected to the organization.
On the other hand that Safin kinda found a way to regenerate his body seems legit to me.
Makes me wonder if Paul Haggis brought back his unique idea from QOS when writing the script. Or if John Logan and Sam Mendes were planning on coming back for a sequel originally when Spectre was a two parter movie.
We’ll see, many Bond films have been technology several beats ahead of is currently possible. Safin’s face is very telling.
But Haggis didn’t worked on this one. There were rumors about him polishing stuff but were debunked IF I recall correctly. Reading those quotes from 2008 is interesting, since we know
"I think Paul thought he just leaves the kid, he doesn't deal with it," Forster added. "But [the producers] thought that would be really nasty, because Bond was an orphan himself. If he would find a kid, would he just leave it?
"They were so vehemently against it. That was the only time I saw, really, 'No, we can't do that'. They said, 'Once he finds the kid, Bond can't just leave the kid. It's not right'."
Exactly, exactly.
He's been journeying for family over all these films. Seeking belonging. Think about how easily he leaves MI6 in "Casino Royale" or "Spectre" once he finds someone. He's not a cold character; that's a facade — see "Skyfall".
I just want a wellwritten thriller with big action setpieces, but I guess they don't make big budget movies any longer, where the main character doesn't have any personal issues and there's no inner struggle or conflict to deal with, like the first 20 Bond movies, where Bond was just cool and suave.
I think the days of inner struggle/conflict, darker brooding anti-heroes, will be over before we know it, because times they are a changin and we're headed for the post-covid years (here's hoping) and, just like in the post-war years, people will want escapism and fun again. Specially during a global economic crisis. And globetrotting agents with panache and exoticism will be fashionable again. A blend of the two, a mix match between the anti-hero and the hero is, IMO, the way to go. Then again, maybe they'll give us a Bond-centric, one-location confined film, and I'd be fine with that too. The only thing I don't want is a reboot with a slightly pubescent rookie Bond with social and sexual agendas being checked like on a studios check list. But that's for another thread and time.
For now, it seems NTTD has plenty to offer, on all fronts.
I contacted the lady. Her answer:
Yes, but by now we can predict, if slightly, what they'll want. After 15 years, we have some patterns that make it possible...wait, what am I saying? They gave us DUD after TWINE, and took a Daniel Craig out of the hat, and brought back SPECTRE and Blofeld, and... Damn, they are unpredictable as hell. Still, I have faith in them. It's like family (damn it, this family thing again), we can be mad at them most of the time, but deep down, we grew up with them and we know them, they feel like home because, well, they never left.
Excellent post.
Seems unlikely they would debut it in theaters rather than online first right? Maybe this is just a slightly recut version of something we've already seen.
Guess I am still stuck at "Casino Royale is a reboot that shows how Bond became the Bond we know." ;-)

+1.
For the record I was replying to Zekidk and his never ending complaints…
Well if that’s indeed the new final trailer it’s gonna be disappointing. They must regenerate the hype, the interests of the GA towards Bond must boost like a rocket and releasing always the same 1.5 years old stuff remixed with a couple of new dialogs it’s just wrong. At this point I hope they will be smart enough to release the clip they showed yesterday, within the next couple of weeks.
Stop complaining! :-)
Tell me what you guys think, it's a bit out there, and there may be some holes, but it's interesting none the less
EDIT: For anyone curious about Unit 731, PLEASE research with caution, a lot of the experiments conducted during the program were very horrific and could disturb some sensitive users
I'd buy this, would fit in with his
