I’m slightly underwhelmed surprisingly. There was a very slow/ominous instrumental of the title song that was featured in that BBC Podcast with beautiful sounding guitar riffs. I’m shocked I didn’t hear it at all throughout this soundtrack.

Are they supposed to release an extended soundtrack, or is this it?

    Pretty sure that's "Home"?

I would expect so at some point in the future.

Mind blowing soundtrack. By far the best of the Craig era. This is going to be such an emotional ride.

Tempting to listen, but I'm keeping it all fresh for the first viewing! Excited to dive into the soundtrack afterwards!

I was one of those that wonder after SP that Craig should stick his strengths and maybe a traditional entry wasn't in his remit. Though this time they've taken their time and made sure unlike when they tried to make a traditional Bond with Craig, they aren't shoehorning obvious Bond moments from other eras.

They've made sure that this is undoubtedly a DC Bond but somehow possibly made the most traditional Bond of DC's era but with an emotional wallop to it, which SPECTRE severely lacked.

I think the script could end up being the strongest of the era. Having a director who is a writer must be a first. I think Cary is going to turn out to be a real coup, I was hugely excited when I heard he was the man and it doesn't look like my enthusiasm will be wasted.

It looks to me from the trailers that we are getting all the strengths of DC but going for a proper world threatening plot, this looks like it could be possibly be the biggest threat since SWLM & MR.

They didn't really go there again after that, even PB's ones weren't that high stakes but here I think we are going to get a DC version of that.

Though not done in a flippant way, which was fine for the time and Moore's Bond but Craig's will feel the weight of the responsibility on his shoulders, so the reality of what is at stake won't be a second thought. I mean when you consider it, the goal of both Stromberg and Drax is horrific but those films weren't concerned with that.

Though I don't think Cary will back away from this and the terrifying reality of what Safin is planning to do will be up and front like no other entry has ever been. The music definitely suggests the lighter possibly playful moments will give way to much more serious and emotional tone as we draw to the close, the film is undoubtedly going to conclude unlike any Bond film has.

I’m not too sure. If you listen to the BBC Podcast at around 28:20 in or so, the music starts right when Lashana Lynch starts talking.

Edit: On second listen, I believe you are correct, sir!

It's sounds like "Time" from Inception — and even ends abruptly too.

My favorite followed by I’ll be right back. So much intensity and urgency there.

If Q dies in a plane explosion, it'll make his line about wanting one nice evening before the world explodes cruel foreshadowing. And the mention of him being afraid of planes from Skyfall too, come to think of it. I will have to remember to bring tissues :(

Boy oh boy! The soundtrack is amazing! I thought I knew what to expect in typical Zimmer fashion but he has surpassed himself. Channeling Barry and Arnold. Wow.
I got teary during quite alot of that listen.
I'll have to listen to Cuba chase to cheer myself back up !

Who knows I might be eating my words in a few weeks about this. Not going to use spoiler tags as this is 100% speculation. I just can’t see them actually killing off any of the main characters except perhaps Madeline or Nomi.

Even though the series hasn’t had much continuity before and there will likely be a HRD reboot next time, I think they would want to keep the main MI6 characters alive even if they are played by new actors next time. Also, I can’t imagine them killing off Bond in his own franchise if they plan to continue it.

Who knows though. Cary is a very daring writer and filmmaker so we will see very soon.

Either way we are on the cusp of very exciting times.

Even if this is speculation, a few recent comments still deserve spoiler tags.

“The soundtrack release for No Time To Die will include an epic, sweeping orchestral version of Billie Eilish’s title track, co-written with her brother Finneas O’Connell.”

I wonder if this orchestral version they’re talking about is this…

Didn't hear it. it's either going to be an unreleased track or the orchestral NTTD rendition, though judging by the end of it it could very wel be unreleased OST.

what if NTTD ends with Mathilde orphaned like her Dad (and her mother I suppose) ? Ending jumps forward twenty years -we see a young woman doing some cool stuff. Last line of the film- " The names Bond, Mathilde Bond"

Given that the film is 160 mins and the official soundtrack is shorter than Skyfall’s, there’s surely a lot of missing music so that would make sense.

Sounds like a Michael G. Wilson, Lee Tamahori, Marc Forster or Purvis and Wade type of idea.

Lol I was about to comment on this...

In both SF and SP soundtracks, yes the overall score is shorter than the film, but even individual pieces for scenes in the film are shorter.

For example, Los Muertos Vivos Estan is significantly shorter in the soundtrack than the film...

(Fingers crossed those bit of Barry references are extended, as seen in the Matera track etc)

I can't see them not releasing an extended album eventually. Actually surprised after all this time they didn't do an extended album right out of the gate.
