The title reveal was created by Olly Gibbs and Tom Brooks, who also worked on SP.

    Thanks for sharing @Red_Snow!

Here's Tom Brooks's comments on the Spectre logo over at Fonts in Use, and the reasoning for choosing Gotham as the typeface. No doubt Futura Black offered the same practically. I sure hope we'll get some insight like this for NTTD:
Wonderful to see this on this blog. I designed the Spectre logo as part of my role as a senior at Empire Design. We have worked on the last 4 Bond movies.

On the question of the ubiquity of “Gotham” as a typeface, I totally understand this argument, but the decision was practical as much as it was aesthetic. We’ve just finished adapting the title style for use in something like 20 different languages. The letterforms of Gotham lend themselves perfectly to adaptation for an audience of this size.

The general public don’t see yet-another-instance-of-gotham, they see an ominous word picked ominously out of darkness with a 007 logo beneath as a confident, knowing sign off.

I can’t wait to actually see it incorporated into the title sequence.

Great stunt! Though it looks similar to SF - also the suit isn't great.

    Nice seeing new photos; thanks.

I like the whole feel of this title. Not earth shattering, but definitely Bond. I'm quite relieved it was not A Reason to Die, which is horrible and complete opposite feeling. We missed having a really poor title. This one fits just fine. I like the font, too; nice and retro, sharp with good contrast. It's more than sufficient and now we can move on to enjoying other things as they arrive.

Here's this bit I just saw on twitter, though has probably been shared here already (I'm not checking all back pages):

That suit and tie are horrid. Hope that is not Bond, or that its just for rehearsals.

It is another sport coat and trouser combination like from the Morocco train station in Spectre. The jacket is unstructured and probably a linen blend, perhaps from Brunello Cucinelli. Trousers are different coloring is slightly off.

Did some digging. Location: Ponte Acquedotto Orsiniano, Gravina, Puglia

The middle of the bridge is basically where the stunt guy falls. Photo from another angle.

Probably not, every other pic of that shoot shows Craig alone in the yacht.

I’m beginning to think they’re playing with us with the clapperboard numbers. Seqdoux hasn’t been spotted on set yet once I don’t think, and the Norway sequence is too close to the beginning and London isn’t until almolst the end of the film.

I love how in the dark we are :)

At this point anything can happen with this film.

Could we have Bond alone on the yacht in the beginning then with reunited with Swann at the end? This time they are really sailing off to a new life.

Is that Craig's stunt double or could it be Billy Magnussen's? We haven't seen DC in that suit at all (or have we?) and he kinda looks like a Billy twin.

What's odd is that nobody's around, which lends to speculation that this is a run-through.

    General reminder

What EON says: Phoebe Waller-Bridge is one of the writers of Bond 25. The story will feature Nomi, played by Lashana Lynch and Paloma, played by Ana de Armas.

The facts: Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been asked to re-write parts of the script of Bond 25. She is now done with that re-write.

Statements from reputable sources: Waller-Bridge was brought in on the request of Daniel Craig, and has been writing for longer than previously thought. She was brought in to re-write the female characters, bring more humour into it and explain the main plot about genetic warfare better.

The Speculation: Waller-Bridge has brought the Bond girls "into the 21st century" and "the plot will have Bond dealing with his womanising ways. There's also a female 007, played by Lashana Lynch"

Fact: Waller-Bridge herself has not commented on any of these things directly. She's been deliberately vague.

The Mass Hysteria: OMG! They're changing Bond! Craig is being replaced by a female black woman of the opposite sex!!! Unthinkable! Unspeakable! Waller-Bridge is really destroying the franchise!

Conclusion: We don't know how the characters will behave on the screen, and how they have been written until we see the film. No need to burn the movie before seeing it. Nothing is confirmed by EON. Waller-Bridge is not just re-writing all the female characters, she wrote other plot elements too.

Excellent post, Sir! Exactly what I am thinking.

Of course it isn't. And of course they didn't.

This is how Bond wears his ties and suits throughout the film.

Maybe they can start a trend of naming future Bond films after episodes of 1970's detective shows? There's a ton of great ROCKFORD FILES titles:

    NICE GUYS FINISH DEAD
    COUNTER GAMBIT
    THE MAN WHO SAW ALLIGATORS
    NEW LIFE, OLD DRAGONS

Or they could start a trend of titling Bonds after Cubby/Warwick Films:

    HELL BELOW ZERO
    THE MAN INSIDE
    PARATROOPER
    HIGH FLIGHT

I appreciate the reassurance. Deaver had Bond in a burgundy tie in Carte Blanche.

After the Casino Royale promotional pics where Bond has the untied bow tie draped around his neck, many clothes models were emulating this; I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happens with the tie clip.

I think surely "no time to die" has been in numerous books and tv and film over the years. No big deal.

Is the thought Blofeld grew back his hair. I don't think the filmmakers would backtrack on that item.

    Did he go bald?

Correction. Of course you're right he was scarred but not bald last seen. I should remove my previous comment. Must have misappropriated some fan art in memory.

  • So Blofeld graduated from being thrown down a chimney to being thrown off a bridge. Confirmed PTS then?
