Think before you accuse someone of being a liar.
They could have been working on a song or instrumental with a Bond vibe for as long as they like, maybe they are just Bond nerds like us, and they just happen to be musicians in a band. They are the kind of band I wouldn´t be surprised if CJF digs their sound. Maybe he knew them beforehand, and when he got the gig he told Eon he wants them, or they know someone who knows someone who´s a friend of CJF´s, and who managed to give CJF a recording of the song, which until then has no title, or a different title. You know, it´s kinda easy to change the title of something unpublished. It could very well be that Eon said, "Well, we anyhow know nothing about music" (I think they actually said something to that effect), "So if Cary likes it, why not? They sound English, and after all, we had The Clash´s ´London calling´ in a Bond film. Give them the end credits, so we don´t need to get another of these weird DJ guys for an end credits remix, and we don´t need to pay Arnold again for using his track."
I can imagine that either the song is for the film (not for the title sequence, but for end titles, or as source music), or Eon are in on a hoax in order to keep people guessing, like they seem to be doing in general with this production.
What I cannot imagine is Eon tolerating an unrelated band using their official logo.
When Bond bleeds, it makes the action more impactful and resonant. It's a simple but effective gesture and makes it more dramatic. CR and TND really understood this.
Also, note that he doesn't have the jacket anymore........I think this must be the end of the sequence because he's pretty unscathed during the jump on the bridge.
Thanks for the back up! ;)
Yeah it really amazes me how so many MI6 members say "NO YOU ARE WRONG", with zero proof or evidence..
A band is using the official logo and the instrumental is definitely good enough for a Bond film. The singer is a raw/rock singer. Fantastic voice but he isn't Adele or Sam Smith.
I just find it odd they are using the logo and haven't been copyrighted on youtube for it either...
I made the stupid mistake to use copyrighted materials in high school and my videos didn't last more than a day or two before they were removed!
Also why promote it saying they can't reveal anything until this Sunday? The Bond cast is filming in Italy right now. There is talk of a press conference also.
Every Craig film had one press conference with the main cast + character names and a title reveal. This is the only Craig film that had a press conference with hardly any info being released.
1) GMA -Jamaica conference
2) Prince Charles set visit video.
3) Random YouTube title release video with no teases or prior knowledge.
4) Rumors that there is a press conference in Italy and a title song announcement for this upcoming Sunday.
Prove me wrong! I say wait until they drop the song on Sunday to see if there is any additional info that gets released from the media.
It may be a fine weave corduroy suit from Massimo Alba. Check out iconic alternatives he just posted a pretty good article about it.
You could be on to something. I think this picture on Twitter may show the contrast:
Time will tell if it results in a good film. But I think CJF is younger and hipper. So perhaps that energy has caught on the set.
In other news, Dali Bensallah was recently in Toronto for TIFF, so perhaps we will see him soon in Matera.
So far there has been zero word if the press have been invited to Matera.
Can we not bring up that piss poor band hawking a Bond track? Nothing to do with the film. Let’s leave it there.
"We inform our visitors that on September 11th, 12th and 15th, the Historic Grotto House of Vico Solitario will be closed to the public due to cinematographic needs. "No time to Die" James Bond."
and many more rooms...
I was the first who called out CashleyPersia for being a buffoon and I was right. Time will prove I'm right about this one too.
You. are. so. wrong!
How much do I love Mads' delivery of that line in CR? A lot.
Not necessarily, IMO.
On the left we see a director directing an actress, on the right - director and actress looking at something, we don't know what. Two different situations.
The environment is different, too. Nice weather and beautiful surroundings can affect the mood in a positive way.
And I'm not a Mendes apologist in the slightest. I like SF, but hate SP passionately. :)
Youtube will certainly strike videos that contains copyrighted videos in it, but nobody gives a crap about copyrighted photos. Plenty of review videos and so forth on Youtube use copyrighted images but not of actual film footage or whatever.
The band's video looks like it's all stock footage with the only potential copyright issue being the logo, which is a nonissue. I think this band is full of bollocks and are just trying to make a quick cash grab.
I don't count most anything out, so this kind of thing is automatic Bond history to me. I'll rip the audio from their YouTube video and listen to it alongside the trailers audio, the trailer music only, the eventual title song. Advertising backing tracks. Notional unconfirmed stuff if it's decent. Whatever comes up really.
So far I've got.

Is that it? So far I mean.
You might as well suggest to stop speculating about clapper boards.
Please enlighten me: How is the so far only piece of iconography that is clearly associating with the new James Bond movie a nonissue?
I´m surprised they shoot on location. That place looks like it could be much easier handled if built in a studio.
Genuinely don’t have a clue what you’re on about. This is just a band leeching off the new film to get some publicity. Well done to them, they’ve managed to get over 1000 views, unlike some of their previous videos which hover between a whopping 20-50 views. EON have bigger fish to fry. Absolutely jack all to do with the film.
@boldfinger I can only go by the statement from the Grotto-people. It will be closed down to house production. That said, it doesn't mean that they will shoot in the actual cave rooms. It might just be the entrance or the exterior somewhere. Either way Main Unit moves in 11,12, 15 sept.
Italian Lotus prod, that EON has enlisted to build all the outdoor sets, doesn't inform of the Grotto-shoot on their site since they are not allowed to build anything in there. It's a historical fragile location. Actually, the whole town Sassi di Matera was awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 1993.
But yes, it would be 'easier' building a grotto at Pinewood.
Update
Remember the car chase with AM and the cars circling around each other on the big square last week. It turns out that through the tunnel in the background on that square you'll find the Grotto-area, parking space.
And looking at today's filming location, that square is one of them, so I think the parking lot at the Grotto is used as a staging area, base camp.
