What I meant was: It's not the Madonna della Bruna. It is a replica and not a close one. Yes, Google is my friend. LOL
That said, I don't see them bringing out any type of Madonna statue for Easter.
Further investigation found that the bonfires are set in Matera on the Festival of San Giuseppe. This image was taken in Matera for this. They might also be set on Good Friday. So the production seems to be taking all sorts of elements of Matera culture and blending them.
Thanks!!
- The scene with Lia on the balcony was shot with the different candle precessions and bonfires across the city going on. The 'disco light party' bit was not to do with this scene so perhaps it was a background shot for a separate scene. Or for cgi fireworks even. She wasn't acting during the party lights part as we also saw in the Cary instagram story.
- Also, forgot to say the other day but when I visited the blown up grave, there were red roses resting on it. It could just be a background prop but there's also a strong possibility that Bond (a bit like Roger in FYEO) brings those along.
Nitpicking.. The point is: Bond's Matera-scenes takes place during the festival/celebration.
My guess, like some of the other "festivals" Bond finds himself in (like the Palio horse race), it won't be described. We'll just see it. And they're merging various elements of traditions in Matera. And that's fine...it's a movie.
If they are going to stick with festuval ritual, @Contraband , I hope we see this insanity! LOL
That's me on a friday night
And sure, they won't say it out loud in the movie which festival it is. Just have it as a backdrop so to speak.
Is there still a plan to have an explosion occur at the balcony?
Nope. Plus Bond picks up cuts on his face from the graveyard which remain for the rest of the Matera trip. One big 20-30 minute dream?! Nah.
Casino Royale was one of the sexiest Bond in ages. It depicted attraction and desire in a very honest and refreshing way, rather than the clichés without depth we had gotten for years in the franchise. After that film, Craig's take on Bond, which is quite close do Fleming's books in that regard, depicts the character as somewhat doomed and unable to fully trust women. It's not PC, it's Fleming. Craig's Bond keeps in mind that a woman, not necessarily evil, may betray him again at some point, and he can't really get attached. In the books, every woman ends up leaving him because of this, and he regards Tracy as the one who may save him from this long string of failed relationships. And Mendes was as unable to get a reviving performance from Léa Seydoux as he was to get a menacing performance from Christopher Waltz. These were some of his many shortcomings on Spectre, and they have nothing to see with PC.
And, today, you can also find sexiness anywhere. That's why you don't see major films trying to push the envelope, you don't see James Bond girls signing for their Playboy pictorial. Nudity or pornography is basically always three clicks away on premium cable or on the Internet. In the Goldfinger or Thunderball days, people would often get their first glimpse of onscreen nudity in a blockbuster thanks to Shirley Eaton or Molly Peters. These scenes wouldn't mean much today, and wouldn't draw crowds into theaters, because this kind of material is so easy to find.
The two girls , valet scene at ocean club
The beach scene obviously the biggest one
Bond seducing solange at the ocean club
Bond and vesper dialogue on the train
Bond and vesper in the car
The vesper shower scene
Bond and vesper at the rehab clinic
Bond and vesper on the beach
Bond and vesper in Venice.
You forgot that rope scene. :))
- Sassilive say it next too the church Madonna delle Vergini at the Parco della Murgia Materana
- Others say it's next too Ponte Acquedotto at Gravina
There is a big difference of distance, so @slyfox , who have right who have wrong ?
They have built two of them, Gravina, Puglia and Madonna, Matera. Explosion was filmed behind church Madonna.
There are new IG stories from Cary.
He and Linus were catching dawn with IMAX camera early in the morning.
Probably we'll have some Western-like sun in NTTD as we know that crew was hunting sunset in Jamaica and now they film it in Italy.
Yes they do. Shooting locations 18 Sept, 6-20: Piazza San Giovanni Battista square - Via San Biagio. Same area S U filmed the gun attack on Aston Martin DB5 two weeks ago. Today with Daniel Craig & Léa Seydoux for close-up. Same location tomorrow.
Schedule here

Also, 19-23 sept production will shoot in Gravina, Puglia. Different locations. And on 23-24 sept they will go to coastal town of Sapri with Lea & Daniel
Precisely. After that, I believe they're done in Italy. Hopefully the 25th the trailer will be released...
Gun shots going off there now but it'll be near impossible to get much footage the next few days. They are able to block Piazza San Giovanni Battista square from view and have big railings up. Still, we know what happens there.
I visited yesterday afternoon to see the prep going into it. They installed one of those typical Italian magazine/newspaper stands and brought in their own furniture for the two cafes in the square. They've added church bells on one roof. The real church is wired with small explosives. They've painted bullet holes on the church walls (they look really real). The cafe, watermelons, buildings and some villains will get a good old beating in this scene! A beautiful square. Should be another classic scene in this film.
Yes.
I reckon she is.
Most probably. Seems for me that it's the same shirt. As was already discussed here, scene in hotel room and on balcony is probably plot continuation of scenes with James and Maddy walking, kissing on the streets of Matera.
