Yes, I'm old school as well. I agree that the modern Bond films have too much action and not enough dialogue.

When you watch something like Skyfall, have you not noticed that there are almost no action scenes in it?

Skyfall and CR sort of have that in common, in the sense that they have truly great action spectacle (and both plenty of it) but they really do sneak large segments of Bond film by without it. A testament to how great they both are from a story and character perspective, I think. Craig's two strongest for sure.

The only source on Faroe Islands as a location comes from that Guideto.. It's been out for a few days now. Since they claim that Second Unit is camping out on the island, then provide some pics or footage. For now I say it's BS.

Local newspapers usually don't make up this stuff. Like Sassilive online (which is full of unsafe cookies and virus-inducing clickbait), it eventually was true. Why would a local newspaper from the Faroe Islands make up this stuff?

Also, it's perhaps only used for extensive aerial shots. And such shots fit in wonderfully with the footage that has been filmed in Norway and Scotland. In essence: it makes sense. Confirmed news (by seeing more evidence of crew filming? Not yet. BS? Perhaps we can use these words when we know for sure it's BS, and so far it's not pointing in that direction.

Yeah definitely. You leave thinking you've seen a great action film, but in between the (thrilling) pre-titles and the climax of SF you get: a fist fight, another fist fight (with a lizard), a (very) brief tussle with a duelling pistol, a run through the tube ending in an explosion, which links to a run though a street leading to a shootout. And that's it.

Wow this blew up! See folks I re-watched the Connery films and I noticed that Bond would have a scene with M and the dialogue was realistic and long. Not this.. SF (ending) SP crap..

    “Where were you??”

    “Gone”

“Okay and you expect me to believe you weren’t involved?”

    “No”

    “Off to Q!!!”

    “Yes sir.”

That’s what you guys think is a Bond film?!

Yes Bond is a one liner type of guy. Unfortunately Brosnan’s Bond only spoke in one liners.

If you watch Connery you’ll notice he’s easily the best Bond because he carried conversations with the villains, Bond girls and M/MP.

I don’t care what anyone says, Bond is not just a one liner type of guy. He is quick and witty but he is also extremely intelligent and can correct M and other agents. He can also reveal the entire villains plans TO THE VILLAIN. He’s not some guy that just kills his way to the bad guy and hopes for the best. He always has a plan.

Bottom line...He definitely isn’t JUST an assassin. He is a spy. When’s the last time Craig’s Bond did any type of spy work?? Casino Royale?

Casino Royale is a top 5 Bond film for sure, they really did an amazing job on the overall story, flow and dialogue.

Quantum Of Solace was a revenge film inspired by the Bourne franchise. So yes I expected Bond to say less and for it to be non-stop action. It’s in my top 10.

    Then we had Skyfall..

AMAZING cinematography, extremely well edited but.. HORRIBLE Bond film. Home alone on an empty field?? Geez the Brosnan films had more climatic final acts than that.

No Time To Die is in really really good hands. I will openly admit I disliked the CJF Director choice but I recently watched all of his previous projects and I was blown away.

I think we can expect the following.

    1) CR/OHMSS knock off. It will be in that tone/more dialogue and lots of huge action scenes. More hand to hand combat. At least two huge car chases, boat chase and possibly two more big action sequences. (Cuba/Ending castle scene)

    2) The writing will be the biggest strength. The editing should be on point to CR/SF type editing.

    3) Music will most likely be weak yet again, considering the composer isn’t a big name. If we are lucky he will adapt the old Connery themes and remix them. I could be wrong but I’m not blown away by anything this guy has done yet.

Clickbait!!!! Plus, Guidetofaroeislands is not a newspaper. It's a travel site.

And for the third or fifth time, local Sassi news helped us out every day with correct location info, footage, stills. And italian Lotus prod, hired by EON, was feeding Sassi, just enough intel on any given prod. day in Matera and Gravina

I don't understand why some of you are doubting the Faroe Islands story. It is a perfectly believable story. A few people will go there, get some areal footage and that's it. Fukunaga won't fly there, none of the cast members will fly there. It's all about a bit of areal footage that they will use for the Norway scenes.

Yes.. Do people forget they did this for Skyfall? Didn’t they take drone/helicopter footage + location shots then film everything else in London.

    Totally agree.

The scenery is beautiful. I kinda hope they do use this location with the main unit. I guess Cary's IG will inform us in the coming days

These pictures remind me how attrociously poorly they took advantage of Iceland. I sure hope they portray Norway better, and Faroe Islands regardless of whether they represent themselves or double for Norway.

I just wonder what location Norway is supposed to portray in the film. I have a feeling it will double for someplace else (unfortunately), and that they'll potentially use (areal) footage from Faroe Islands as well.

The Atlantic Ocean Road is distinctly Norwegian, no?

Yeah, but I don't think that'll stop them from portraying it as somewhere else. I mean, Preikestolen – a well-known tourist attraction here in Norway, was supposed to portray India or whatever inn M:I Fallout!

Quite. There are no fjords in India, but few people in the world reacted to that, I guess.

Yeah it'd be good to go back to Iceland.

I like the idea of Bond going to Norway and the Nordic countries: I find them rather fascinating and exotic places and hugely underused in Hollywood film. Something like Billion Dollar Brain is super cool.

    I agree, it's nonsense.
It's not nonsense, Torgeirtrap always argues his points respectfully as a fellow Bond fan like anyone else. A shame you dismiss his point of view like that.

Anyway, back to Nomi, that's an interesting development. I really hope it means Norway isn't a flashback.

I am wondering how they will fit all of these elements into the same movie. We so far have The Bond Madeleine relationship, Nomi as the new 007, Spectre returning, Felix calling Bond out of retirement and a brand new villian. Seems like so much for one movie, but I have faith the writing talent on this film can pull it off.

@FrankXavier I think we'll be visiting Norway in flashback and in present day. A lot of us have made the assumption of a possible finale in Norway, which seems to be a combination of Norway itself, Scotland and now possibly the Faroe Islands.

Theory- Mallory dies/is a traitor in NTTD. Bond promoted to head of secret service and is now the new boss of lady 007.

Came to this idea because, M in SP wears braces with a blue shirt like JB in NTTD, which is basically confirmation....

Wow can’t wait for this trailer.

Breaking.....Lashana Lynch will be officially unveiled in the Daily Mail tomorrow as the new 007 with exclusive photos of her.

I've spoken to someone who has seen them and they assure me that she looks amazing.
