From the looks of it this one will be a bit stripped down similar to CR.

It’s not going to be like Spectre which consisted of insert car chase here insert fight scene there.

I think bond does get captured for a portion of the film though. Possibly the porton down sequence.
Considering it’s the most expensive Bond film ever made, I would love to hear your reasoning here.

I was mixed on QOS from the start and have only liked it less in the passing years. Now it feels redundant and I wish Craig had a completely different film with another director behind it instead. All the action IMO obnoxious and atrocious.

The editing is some of the worst I've ever seen, the villain is mediocre and Mathis should've not been killed like that.

Yeah, he should have been recycled.

SPECTRE cost $50 million more than NTTD.

I’ve heard the opposite, but I’ll rephrase my post: one of the most expensive Bond films ever made.

Haha maybe that's what will happen with Safin. Environmental stuff always scores these days. :)) =))

I struggle to disagree, although I’ve always had a consistent, ‘Yeah, fine’ attitude towards it. What I’ll give QoS is that it’s one of those peculiar anomalies that really enrich the series. In that regard it’s really welcome, but when it comes to the nitty gritty, on its own, I find it hugely overrated by the fan community.

Budget for Bond 25 is possibly 250 million, it'll be probably longer than SP, so theres plenty of time for action and slower sections. Movie won't be under 2hrs 25 minutes, the Craigs are longer than average.

I need the charade between Bond & the villian back in NTTD. And their witty conversations. The dinner conversation between Bond & Doctor No, flows so well and it's engaging.

People always point the similarities with Bourne, but for me it comes off like a generic Gerard Butler euro actioner. It lacks the more classy feel of the other Craig films. Maybe that uniqueness appeals to some, more power to them.

If NTTD crosses the 1billion mark, Do we think the Next Bond actor will be announced sooner?

No, I think they'll take as long as they need to cast James Bond. Characteristically they tend not to rush things and will take as long as they need, and when they have tried to get the films out quicker, it hasn't always worked out (Quantum of Solace, Spectre), concretely in my opinion proving that taking their time can heavily benefit the films (Casino Royale, Skyfall).

It's interesting, and probably unsurprising, to note that the two most unsuccessful films of the Craig-era are the ones that were churned out quicker, so could we possibly see the "delay" of No Time to Die as a blessing in disguise?

I agree QOS is poor - largely incomprehensible both in its editing and writing. I think some people like it purely because it directly follows a vastly superior film.

Regarding NTTD budget. How much of the reported $250 is Craig’s salary

I've always appreciated QOS more than I've ever actually loved it. It's always felt a bit too rushed to me, and I've often wondered how it might have been improved had it been pushed back to the summer of 2009.

Still, there's a lot there I do enjoy, the Opera House sequence is stunning, David Arnold gives us his best work on the series, and I like that they made it a proper followup to the themes and plot of CR.

:Edit: The NTTD delays makes me hopeful that we'll get a much more polished film than QOS or SP, given they've had much more time to work on it.

That's the same longtime reasoning I've heard given for why some film goers didn't like QOS.

Well they took 3 years for DAD. It’s not as bad as some say. Change the title to Icarus and get rid of jinx and you have a good bond film

DAD has way more issues than just the title, as if that has any barring on the quality of the film... getting rid of a Jinx is a good start, but you’ve only touched upon the tip of the iceberg there.

Nope, I like it because it's enjoy its plot, its soundtrack, the actors' performances and the dialogues. Weird, I know.

For all QOS faults it nowhere as woefully redundant and tension lacking than SPECTRE, how anyone can excuse this film is beyond me, I loved the DC era till that came along.

No QOS is not perfect by a long stretch but it plays to DC's strengths, SP almost tries to reinvent his Bond and then try to also have the emotional Bond, it's a jarring mess of a film.

    In short it's bloody awful.

    Mendes was wrong for Spectre.

That film probably needed a more action oriented director.

Look how quickly the other guys can make great Mission Impossible movies though. It shouldn't be impossible (ho ho).

I mean I'm not really one to comment on this because I only really like MI: Fallout, not really a big fan of the previous entries, but even then I think the Mission Impossible and the James Bond films are very different products of the spy genre.

To me the Mission Impossible is an action-packed blockbuster, whereas the James Bond franchise is a different kettle of fish, and while the James Bond franchise also includes action, it has more to think about than just what action set pieces do we want to see Tom Cruise in this time? And I'm sure the MI franchise would also have major delays if it suffered the same problems...

    Different productions, different rules.

Funnily, the M:I films are not too dissimilar from the Craig era films.

“Ugh, it’s personal stakes yet again. Why is Hunt always a rogue agent in these films? Another mole in their organization, what is wrong with the IMF?!”
