23 years late, but i finally saw Training Day (2001) recently.

Really good film. Denzel Washington is a force of nature in the film and plays a seriously despicable character. But all the cast are top notch. Especially loved the scene where Ethan Hawke's character gets stuck with some card playing Latino's, and slowly realises he's been set up. Tense stuff.

Not sure how this stayed off my radar for so long.

Great film, and that sequence you mention is agonisingly tense! Washington is superb!

Can’t really think of any, I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey way later in life than maybe I should have but that’s it.

I've only seen one Star Wars film in full and it was The Force Awakens. Haven't seen the original three.

The first Robocop film is a masterpiece of the genre, you need to watch it.

There is one particular scene in the film which is perfection with regards to the score and what a particular character is going through, one of my favorite scenes in cinema.

Absolutely right! Robocop is so good i'm actually jealous of people viewing it for the first time! One of the best genre films ever made IMO.

If you see just one of those films, I recommend.......'Some Like it Hot'! classic comedy
(I bet you thought I'd say 'NTTD' 😏)

You should definitely check out NTTD. It's not as bad as those who haven't seen the film like to claim. ;-)
